How Many Rides does Epcot Have?

    Disneys EPCOT has 9 rides.

EPCOT has rides for all ages.

Here is a list of the EPCOT rides:

  • Frozen Ever After
  • Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros
  • Journey Into Imagination with Figment
  • Soarin
  • Journey Into Imagination With Figment

The original version of Journey Into Imagination was an incredible dark ride with amazing characters, music and a unique storytelling narrative. This however is not that ride and is a much watered-down version of the original attraction.

We still ride it from time to time, but its in dire need of refurbishing, and we hope they do it right the next time.

Using Walt Disney Worlds Rider Switch Service:

Rider Switch is also your friend. Full details on the Rider Switch process is here, but in a nutshell:

  • Tell the Cast Member at the entrance youd like to do Rider Switch.
  • Your group will be given a Rider Switch Pass. Those riding second will wait in a designated area with the non-rider with the pass, while those riding first go on.
  • After the ride, the Rider Switch Pass is given to the one waiting, while the person who just rode remains in the designated area with the non-rider.
  • The second rider hands gives the Rider Switch Pass to a Cast Member and goes on the ride. They dont have to wait in the queue again.
  • Two guests are allowed per Rider Switch Pass. So if you have an older child and a baby, each adult can bring the child on the ride while the other waits with the baby. My daughter loved this and was pretty disappointed when her brother was big enough to go on.
  • Here is a list of rides not all baby-friendly rides that offer the Rider Switch service:

    • Rock n Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
    • Slinky Dog Dash
    • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance
    • Star Tours The Adventures Continue
    • Twilight Zone Tower of Terror
    • Expedition Everest Legend of the Forbidden Mountain
    • Kali River Rapids
    • Primeval Whirl

    The Hall Of Presidents

If you are a fan of American history, The Hall of Presidents is for you. This attraction has animatronic figures for each president in United States history and is an impressive display seen together.

This one goes way back and continues to be an incredible feat by Walt Disney Imagineering and it doesnt get nearly the love it deserves. Its far more interesting than its reputation leads you to believe and definitely worth doing.

What Is The Fastest Roller Coaster In Walt Disney World

    10 Of The Most Scream

The fastest roller coaster at Walt Disney World is the Rock n Roller Coaster as it tops out at 57 mph or 91 kmh. Top speed on this coaster is reached right at the beginning when you are launched and reach top speed in only 2 seconds.

The slowest roller coaster in Disney World is The Barnstormer with a top speed of only 25 mph.

All of the roller coasters at Disney World have height restrictions for smaller guests. Make sure to read the Disney World Height Requirements so you know which rides your kids can go on and which ones they have to skip.

    All Disneyland Resort Rides

Heres a look at ALL of the rides at Disneyland Resort and then Walt Disney World Resort:

    Disneyland Resort Rides : 57

  • Alice in Wonderland
  • Walt Disneys Carousel of Progress
  • Wildlife Express Train
  • The listing of rides of both resorts doesnt get more concrete than that. Disneyland still comes out ahead, but barely! Disney California Adventures ride count took a small dip as they shuttered A Bugs Land, which had a handful of kid-sized rides. The new Avengers Campus was intended to open this summer with Web Slingers: A Spider-Man Adventure that would further push Disneyland ahead. The only other rides slated for Disneyland as of this writing is a clone of Disney Worlds Mickey and Minnies Runaway Railway coming in 2022 and a major Avengers Campus addition in the future.

Walt Disney World has quite a few attractions coming to beef up its overall count. Weve already included Mickey and Minnies Runaway Railway but we have yet to include Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind , Remys Ratatouille Adventure, and TRON: Lightcycle Run. If we add these to the overall count right now along with Disneylands upcoming additions, both resorts would be close to tied, but Disneyland ekes out a small victory at 59 to WDWs 58!

As a point of clarification, we counted the Monorail as a ride at Disneyland. The same does not apply to Walt Disney Worlds boats, busses, Monorail, or Skyliner Gondola, which do not require admission to any park and are not contained within a park.

Don’t Miss: Best Disney World Tours For Adults

Best Rides At Walt Disney World Ranked

Some lists are more strict on what they count as a ride. We chose to us all the attractions considered rides as well as well as the attractions with audio-animatronic figures or a purposeful infrastructure .

We left off our list stage shows with live performers, nighttime shows, character meets, and other experiences.

At the end we have two bonus lists with the best family rides and best thrill rides in Walt Disney World.

Now lets get into the actual rankings

Which Disney World Roller Coasters Are Good For Kids

Which Disney World Park has the MOST RIDES? And how many at each?

While Walt Disney World has dozens of rides for small children, not all of the roller coasters are good for kids. This is subjective and depends on how old your children are and how much they like thrill rides.

Here is a list of the Height Requirements for all 7 roller coasters in Walt Disney World in order from lowest to highest:

    • The Barnstormer 35 inches
    • Seven Dwarfs Mine Train 38 inches
    • Slinky Dog Dash 38 inches
    • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad 40 inches
    • Space Mountain 44 inches
    • Expedition Everest 44 inches
    • Rock n Roller Coaster 48 inches

The Barnstormer is the best coaster for little kids and is often the first coaster they try because of the low thrill level and a height requirement of only 35 inches. Even most 3 and 4 year olds can handle that.

As you work your way down the list, we suggest you ride the coaster first as a parent before deciding whether or not your child can handle it or not. Work them up the list one by one. If they dont make it this year, there is always the next trip so no worries.

Don’t Miss: Extra Hours At Disney World

Which Disney World Park Is The Most Popular

Crowds are an important factor in deciding which Disney park to visit and when to go.

The most visited parks, in order from most to least visited, are:

    • The Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Florida
    • Disneyland at Disneyland Resort in California
    • Tokyo Disneyland
    • Disneys Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World
    • Epcot at Walt Disney World
    • Shanghai Disneyland
    • Disneys Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World
    • Disneyland Park at Disneyland Paris
    • Disney California Adventure
    • Hong Kong Disneyland
    • Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris

The Magic Kindom gets that number one spot by having over 20 million visitors a year.

Arrive At Or Before The Opening Time Of Disney World

It should go without saying but the easiest way to make the most of your Disney World Passes is to simply spend the entire day there. Not only that but if you have already entered the Disney World before the opening time you can be the first in the lines and not have to endure some of the horrible wait times that occur later in the day.

Get the most popular rides out of the way first and enjoy your day!

Best Things To Do In Epcot At Disney World

The best thing about visiting Walt Disney World is that there are so many things to do. While exploring the different lands of each park, you can discover something new each time you go.

Epcot is one of my familys favorite parks at Walt Disney World. We also love staying in one of the Epcot area hotels, specifically Disneys Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts.

These are our top picks for best rides at Epcot:

Save The Best Disney World Park Until Last

The 10 Most Intense Rides At Disney Parks, Ranked

And the final of my Disney World Tips is perhaps the best Save the park you are most excited for last so you always have something to look forward to.

I recommend the Magic Kingdom for the final day as the fireworks shows alone are something you will never forget, but if you are a massive Avatar fan you might want to leave Pandora till last for example.

    Disneys Blizzard Beach Water Park

Disneys Blizzard Beach® Water Park answers the age-old question of what would happen if a snowed-in ski resort was built in Florida. The answer is a melting water park featuring a chairlift, bobsled- and toboggan-themed water slides, and other fun features designed to trick your eyes into thinking youre freezing while you luxuriate in warm water and sunshine.

For aquatic thrills, check out fast rides like Toboggan Racers, Summit Plummet and Snow Stormers. Then, relax your cares away with a dip in Melt-Away Bay or a tranquil journey along the Cross Country Creek lazy river.

There are adventures for kids too, including Ski Patrol Training Camp and Tikes Peak. And the whole family can drift away together on a tube ride at Steamboat Springs.

An Adults Take On Epcot Rides

Theres a slew ofEpcot rides appealing to grownups. They have a more mature collection compared to rides in any other Orlando Disney park.

The crème a la crème in the list of best rides is the massive, indoor hang glider simulator called Soarin Around the World. It lifts you in the air and rotates in front of a 180-degree, 80-ft concave screen, above famous monuments around the globe.

Other similar scream-inducing rides include Mission Space, Spaceship Earth, and Test Track.

Where To Eat At Magic Kingdom

Were only eaten at the cheaper quick service restaurants at Magic Kingdom.

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn in Frontierland is our top pick for eating at Disney World on a budget as they have a huge free toppings bar where you can liven up your meal with salsas, cheese, jalapeños, pickles, and lettuce.

The veggie nachos and veggie rice bowl with beans and vegetables are pretty tasty once youve added the toppings. Save time by ordering on the Disney app.

Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square is another good option. We enjoyed the hummus and broccoli slaw sandwich and vegetarian chilli.

    Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

Top 25 BEST RIDES at Walt Disney World (2021)

I had a hard time separating the next three rides. They are all roller coasters and to me its really splitting hairs so I went with my own personal favorites. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is a great attraction, in fact, its the first ride in our Best-of-the-Best category.

The interactive queue is great, the storytelling elements are wonderful, and it has some of the most impressive in-ride show scenes of any ride. The reason we put it just behind the next two coasters is that its a little too tame for us and its really short. Its a fun ride, but thrill-seekers wont get much from it.

    Tom Sawyer Island Rafts

Technically, the rafts you take over to Tom Sawyer Island count as a ride. Its not a particularly interesting ride and is pretty straight-forward. Once you get to the Island though, that is fantastic and you will be immediately thrown back into your childhood and into the adventures of Tom Sawyer.

Take some time here to explore all the areas of the island and to enjoy the relative quiet outside the chaos present in the rest of the park.

The Best Of The Rest At Animal Kingdom

If you have time, the Dinosaur ride is surprisingly scary and was empty at the end of the day.

There are many attractions at Animal Kingdom that dont have queues. Its well worth walking the informative Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail and Maharajah Jungle Trek to see gorillas, tigers, and many other animals.

Our favourite show is Its Tough to be a Bug, and its also worth seeing the Festival of the Lion King and Feathered Friends in Flight. Theres plenty of street entertainment going on all day, too.

In the evening, dont miss the Tree of Life Awakening , Rivers of Light show, and wandering through Pandora.

Which Disney Park Has The Most Rides

If we are talking about just sheer numbers, Disneys Magic Kingdom has the most rides of all the theme parks in Walt Disney World. It has 25 official rides, and 34 attractions, making it far and away the highest number.

Disneys Animal Kingdom has the fewest amount of rides with only 8, while EPCOT and Hollywood Studios have 9 rides each.

    Seven Dwarfs Mine Train 2014

The 20 Best Rides at Disney World

Magic Kingdom underwent dramatic changes during the early 2010s. Disney reinvented Fantasyland for the next generation of fans.

Attractions that didnât make this list include Enchanted Tales with Belle and Under the Sea ~ Voyage of the Little Mermaid, both of which debuted in 2012.

Storybook Circus also gained an overhaul, but the most dramatic change involved the creation of Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

This tilting roller coaster proved wildly successful from day one, and it remains the most popular attraction at Magic Kingdom, the most trafficked theme park on the planet.

    Coming Soon: Tron Coaster

CExpected to open in Magic Kingdom in 2022 will be a new TRON coaster. The roller coaster is expected to be a copy of the version found in Shanghai Disneyland, which weve had the pleasure of riding numerous times. While we dont want to say quite where it will rank for us when it opens, I think its safe to say it will place in the top half of this list.

Expedition Everest Legend Of The Forbidden Mountain

Expedition Everest is definitely at the top of the list of best roller coasters at Walt Disney World and one of the best in Florida. It may not be the tallest or the fastest, but its mix of gripping storytelling, anticipation, thrills, and suburb execution put it right near the top of the list.

Like any epic Disney ride, the experience starts in the queue, well before you board your train. You are on a hiking expedition in the Himalayas and the base camp shows-off the Nepalese culture from the architecture, artifacts, and the legend of the mythical Yeti.

The ride itself is a steel coaster, and is like an upgraded version of the Big Thunder Mountain coaster. Its incredibly smooth and though there are no loops or inversions, Everest has plenty of thrills with a backwards drop going into a 250° turn at high speeds, and another 80ft forward drop.

While we wish the Yeti animatronic was fully functional, it still doesnt stop Expedition Everest from being one of the best coaster experiences you will ever have.

    Star Tours The Adventures Continue

This is the original Star Wars motion simulator and a ride that George Lucas himself actually had a hand in designing. It features randomized missions from all the Star Wars films and puts you right in the middle of the action.

The actual missions and ride experience is arguably better than Millennium Falcon Smugglers Run, though the queue and pre-show arent quite to that level leaving us to rank Star Tours slightly below it. It does stand the test of time though and remains one of the most popular rides at Disney World.
