Where To Stay At Walt Disney World Florida

Will Walt Disney Worlds Indoor Mask Policy Change Now That The State Of Emergency Is Over

Should You Stay On Or Off Property When Visiting Walt Disney World Resort?

Orange County, Florida, let its State of Emergency expire after the 14-day rolling positivity rate dropped below 4%, marking the lowest rates since July. So far, Walt Disney World has not announced any changes to its current COVID-19 safety policies, which require face masks indoors for all guests regardless of vaccination status.

In May, even the mask policies were reduced, with masks no longer required outdoors. On July 15, vaccinated guests were allowed to go maskless indoors as well. However, cases began to rise again in July 2021, with more than 1,000 new cases per day, and Orange County reentered a State of Emergency on July 28.

Though Mayor Jerry Demming was unable to institute a new mask mandate due to legislature from Governor DeSantis, he called upon local businesses to enforce their own. , Walt Disney World required all guests to wear face coverings indoors regardless of vaccination status.

With the current numbers under the 5% threshold and the State of Emergency expired, many guests are now wondering: will Walt Disney World change its mask policy?

The second I go indoors I need to put a mask on. So COVID only exists when I’m standing in a line indoors or riding an indoor ride

Some fans have taken to social media to express their opinions either for or against the continuation of the current mask policy.

Disneys Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Affordable Places To Stay Near Walt Disney World

The Grand Floridian is probably the most traditional high-end hotel at Disney World.

You wont find a ton of character themes, but you will find some of the most upscale amenities, including a spa and the fanciest restaurant at Disney. Its one of Disney Worlds most expensive resorts, thanks to its proximity to Magic Kingdom and amenities, with rates often starting at $500 per night or more, even for standard rooms, with rates going above $700 for pretty standard rooms at peak times.

In addition to the monorail stop, there are water taxis that take you across Bay Lake to the park entrance. And, newly added is a walking path to the Magic Kingdom, so you dont need to rely on any transportation at all. In short, getting to and from Magic Kingdom isnt a problem from the Grand Floridian.

Dining is another highlight here. While it hasnt reopened yet, Victoria & Alberts is the finest dining you can find at Disney World. A true five-star experience with a dress code and no kids under 10, guests can choose between the dining room, a private chefs table or Queen Victorias Room for a truly special occasion. With everything from caviar to fine wines, be prepared for a big bill.

1900 Park Fare is also excellent and a bit easier on the budget. The redesigned Enchanted Rose bar on the second level of the Grand Floridians lobby, inspired by Beauty and the Beast, is a upscale place to sip your evening cocktail.

Benefits Of Staying Off

Many Walt Disney World fans are going to recommend everyone stay at a Disney-owned on-site hotel for their trip because thats what they personally prefer for their trips. However, its important for us fans to remember that not everyone is nuts about being immersed in the Disney experience, and off-site hotels can offer great advantages for other guests.

Value Proposition The biggest advantage to off-site hotels is bang for buck. This is usually expressed as off-site hotels being cheaper, but thats not all it is. Even if you want luxury accommodations that arent going to be cheaper than all on-site hotels, you will find that they offer better value off-site. In other words, youre not paying Disneys premium for its name, reputation, and location. Theres more competition among off-site hotels, keeping prices low.

Even if you arent necessarily looking for a bargain basement price on a hotel, youll typically get more value out of non-Disney hotels. In addition to this, although Disney does many things well, their best hotels simply do not compete with the best real world hotels in terms of luxury.

If you want luxury accommodations, your best bet is to look elsewhere, such as the Four Seasons , the Waldorf Astoria, Ritz-Carlton, Hyatt Regency, etc. Even the Swan & Dolphin offer superior bedding and other amenities than any Walt Disney World resort hotels, and usually these can be booked for about the price of a Walt Disney World Moderate-tier hotel.

Why Stay at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel?

Avoid this ‘Magic Kingdom’ like the plague. They are infiltrating the soft and impressionable minds of your children and will stop at nothing to ensure that their indoctrination lives for centuries. The way in which they have rotted the standards, values and expectations of millions of people is a large part of what has happened to the World today.Spending hundreds, if not thousands in U.S. Corporation promissary notes to expose your children to even more of their brain-washing is simply child abuse Florida is a state of such natural beauty – go and explore the outdoors – “It’s a small world, afterall” 🙂

What Is The Best Time To Visit Walt Disney World

The best time to visit Walt Disney World is during the school opening period in the United States, which roughly corresponds to the period in Spain as well. National holidays such as Thanksgiving and Martin Luther King Day are exceptions.

The best period is generally from mid-January to the end of February, and during the week in the months of September, October and November. The least suitable period for the visit is that linked to the winter holidays of Christmas and New Year. We remind you that the park is open every day of the year.

Smack dab in the middle of the Disney World property are the Disney Swan and Dolphin resorts, both of which belong to the . A third forthcoming hotel tower, Swan Reserve, will be opening very soon in 2021.

These Category 6 resorts range from a little over $100 to nearly $400 per night, depending on the season, or from 40,000 to 60,000 Marriott points per night.

On nights when the rate is 50,000 points per night or less, you can use a available at hotels in the Marriott Bonvoy program and certain hotels have resort fees with the .

And breakfast benefits are offered to top-tier elites, with a complimentary continental breakfast available. You can pay a small fee to upgrade to the full breakfast buffet. During normal times, its the only place we know where your gets you a character breakfast with Chip, Dale and Pluto.

    Disney World Value Resorts

Value resorts have the lowest prices, tiniest rooms, fewest amenities, and offer no table service restaurants or character meals.

    Value Resort Pop Century

Most standard rooms sleep four on two full beds. Refurbed rooms at Pop Century and All-Star Movies sleep four on two queen beds.

    Value Resort All-Star Sports

The value resorts have great visual kid appeal, but many parents find them garish.

    Value Resort Art of Animation

Theres five value resorts that offer standard rooms:

And two that offer family suites:

Value Resort Family Suite All-Star Music

Room rates among the Disney-owned resorts vary tremendously by night of the week, time of the year, and views, and also among hotels within the same price class. That said, prices for the lowest priced four person value resort room types and views range from around $110 to over $300 per night. Family suites are more than twice as expensive.

For first timers who may never return, based on criteria of visual kid appeal and convenience, I particularly recommend Art of Animation and Pop Century among the values. These two are also the only value resorts that are part of Disneys Skyliner transportation to Epcot and Disneys Hollywood Studios.

    Best for: Families

On-site amenities: 3 pools, playground, restaurant, pool bar

Pros: The theming here is strong, in particular in the suites and pools, which makes things even more fun for families. Another big perk of staying here is that the Disney Skyliner stops at the resort, which is a very efficient way to get around.

Cons: This hotel has limited dining and drinking establishments and the style of the hotel is geared towards children, so it may not be a fit for a couple on an adult vacation.

The Art of Animation resort, one of the more affordable, budget-friendly options within Walt Disney World resorts pays homage to the colorful characters of Disney and Pixar movies.

Themed rooms and suites are modeled after movies such as “The Little Mermaid,” “The Lion King,” “Finding Nemo,” and “Cars.” Rooms and grounds are a bit more standard and bare-bones and not as immersive or luxurious as other Disney properties. However, you’ll still enjoy prime Disney perks, especially being adjacent to the Disney Skyline, making this a good option for those who want easy access to the parks but don’t have the added budget to splurge on an expensive resort.

Disney Vacation Club Resorts. At the Disney Vacation Club offerings there are multiple deluxe level room types: Studios are similar to deluxe rooms Villas are larger and have full kitchens, and, at the two-bedroom and larger sizes, sleep eight people plus.

    DVC Studio at Polynesian Village

There are officially ten DVC resorts at Disney World , but I count them twelve because of some sharply distinguished areas at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Saratoga Springs that Disney lumps together.

    DVC Resort Old Key West

I dont particularly recommend the DVC Villa options for first timers, as their distinguishing featuresextra space and full kitchensare of little use on a first visit where most time is spent in the parks, not in the rooms.

These features, however, can make them a delight for returning visitors.

    Transportation Options Outside Disney Resorts

Meanwhile, visitors who aren’t staying at Disney World have a couple of options. Most non-Disney resorts offer free shuttles to the theme parks, but typically these shuttles run just a few times a day. Visitors probably won’t be able to return to their resort mid-day to give little kids some nap-time or a pool break, which is a good strategy during a hot day in the theme parks. And at night, guests need to return to the right bus parking lot and locate the right bus, out of many, for their resort.

Alternatively, guests could drive their own vehicle to a theme park in their morning, which may get the day off to a quick start. The end of the day may be more complicated: guests who’ve park-hopped using the Disney Bus system will need to get back to where they parked the car.

Plan A Disney Trip Florida Guide: Where Will You Stay

Walt Disney World offers numerous hotels and resorts in its expansive lands.

Once youve decided all those elements, youll want to choose a hotel/resort that will allow you the maximum amount of time in the parks and the most restful nights of sleep within your budget and group number.

On-site hotels capture the magic 24/7, you will be completely immersed in all things Disney. These resorts give you extra perks like access to the boats, monorails and buses to the parks. Some also allow for early entrance into parks. All these amenities are amazing, but also come with a much larger price tag than off-site properties.

Off-site hotels can be wonderful if you are traveling in a group of 5 or more. The prices are kept down and they still offer top amenities.
