Where Is The Riviera Resort In Disney World

Disneys Riviera Resort Location

Disney’s Riviera Resort Overview | Walt Disney World Resort

No matter which direction youre travelling on the Florida 400 , youre going to want to get off at the exit for Epcot Center Drive.

While those driving from the South could get off earlier, this is one of those cases where staying on the highway a bit longer will make your life easier.

Once youve exited onto Epcot Center Drive, youll turn left onto East Buena Vista Drive, and then left again into the resort area. Thats it!

Deluxe Studio Room At The Riviera Resort

There are a few options for Disney Riviera Resort rooms. Youll find the traditional DVC room types that are at other resorts: Studio , 1 Bedroom Villa , 2 Bedroom Villa , and 3 Bedroom Grand Villas . The Riviera Resort also has a new room type, the Tower Studio , which only allows for 2 guests.

Guest rooms also vary based on the view. There are standard view rooms and preferred view rooms. Standard views are of the parking lot areas with some surrounding areas. Preferred view rooms overlook the main courtyard and the Disney Skyliner.

We stayed in a Deluxe Studio Room with a Standard View. The room had a balcony but the view was of the front entry and bus loop, so not that exciting. Spaceship Earth at Epcot was visible in the distance. The room felt cramped for a family of four with suitcases and the murphy beds pulled out. The two bathrooms and showers are a huge plus for a family.

Where Is Disneys Riviera Resort

Review: Disney World

This new Disney World hotel overlooks a lake shared by Disneys Caribbean Beach Resort. It sits in between the Epcot and Hollywood Studios theme parks. Animal Kingdom is closer than Magic Kingdom as the crow flies, and the Disney Riviera resort location is closest to Epcot.

The Riviera Resort boasts being one of four resorts to have a stop on the new Disney Skyliner. The Art of Animation, Pop Century, and Caribbean Beach are the other three.

Guests float above the traffic in gondola cars, most decorated with characters, to Epcot and Disneys Hollywood Studios.

Cost To Rent Points For A Room At The Riviera

Renting DVC Points is a secret hack that many use to stay at these Deluxe Disney World Resorts for less money. You can rent points directly through a DVC member, but unless you know someone thats not the best option. The easiest way to rent points is through Davids Vacation Club Rentals. Theyve been around for a long time and are a trusted business.

The cost for staying at the Riviera Resort if you rent DVC points is approximately $300-$400/night for a studio and $625-$800/night for a 1 Bedroom. You can rent points for $20 per point at the Riviera and the points required will depend on the number of nights, date of your stay, and type of room. Use the dvcrequest cost calculator to find the exact cost for your dates.

A Look Inside Disneys Riviera Resort

From the moment you arrive, the gorgeous nature of the resort has an immediate effect.

Combinations of French and Italian architecture make Riviera Resort sing, while the luxurious atmosphere is almost palpable.

Covered walkways lead up from the bus stops or the Skyliner station, while the beautiful porte-cochère in front of the lobby is light, breezy, and beautiful.

Once youre in the lobby, the elegance continues.

Gorgeous black and white tiled floors, decorative molded ceilings, and modern décor enforces the French feeling.

To left is Le Petit Café, an adorable café and coffee shop that is great for a quick breakfast.

To the right youll find the concierge and La Boutique, the main shopping spot at Riviera.

Finally, the rest of the lobby opens to large floor to ceiling windows and a staircase leading outside to the resort grounds.

Watch this walkthrough video of the lobby at Riviera Resort:

Throughout the resort, youll find references to some of the princesses and castles that inspire classic Disney stories, included artwork, mosaics, and other decorative elements. You especially dont want to miss the Rapunzel mosaic, illustrating the beautiful lantern scene.

With 300 guest rooms, Disneys Riviera Resort is smaller than other DVC locations.

However, this helps to preserve the quiet and intimate nature of the resort, as well as put less stress on the amenities. You will also love the homey nature of the rooms, fitting with the DVC level quality.

History Of Disneys Riviera Resort

As a young resort, were using the word history lightly here.

Originally announced at D23 in 2017, from the beginning Disneys Riviera Resort paid homage to the Mediterranean regions of Europe.

The idea of bringing a luxurious feel to this DVC resort served as the inspiration for several of the decisions made throughout the design process.

Even the colors of the awnings and the double-dome roofs work to distinguish the wings of the resort, and provide an aesthetically pleasing design.

The resort concept and design came from the incredible minds of the Disney Imagineering team rather than an outside architect, which is somewhat unique in terms of resort history.

However, going with an in house approach to design gives Disneys Riviera Resort that distinctly Disney feel. Riviera Resort also proves, once and for all, that Disney can do luxury just as well as anyone.

Disneys Riviera Resort will be joining the line of Disney Vacation Club properties as the fifteenth such accommodation of this designated status. Early Look: Disney Riviera Resort At Disney World

It’s always a big deal when Disney announces that it will open a brand new resort at Disney World, and unsurprisingly Disney Riviera Resort is already generating lots of buzz with Disneyphiles. Slated to open in fall 2019, the resort will be inspired by the glamorous South of France and feature approximately 300 guest rooms with a variety of sizes and configurations.

This will be a Disney Vacation Club property and official Disney World Resort Hotel. Both DVC members and non-DVC members will be able to book a stay there.

One of the major highlights of Disney Riviera Resort will be a rooftop restaurant with views of the nighttime fireworks spectaculars at Epcot and Disneys Hollywood Studios. This is sure to become one of the most coveted dinner venues at Disney World, which means it will require making advance reservations. Note that guests staying at Disney World Resort Hotels can make dinner reservations beginning 180 days in advance of their arrival date.

Five Reasons to Stay at Disney

This is where most of the Disney Riviera Resort review will happen because the most important part of your stay is the room! When it comes to room options at the Riviera, there are a variety of choices. You can book a Tower Studio, Deluxe Studio, and 1, 2, and 3 Bedroom Villas. The Villas all have full kitchens, the Deluxe Studios have kitchenettes, and the Tower Studios dont have a kitchen. Depending on when you visit and which room you choose, the Riviera Resort rooms cost between $400 and over $4500 per night.

I had the pleasure of staying in the Deluxe Studio, which was amazing! Disneys Riviera Deluxe Studios can sleep up to 5 guests. There is a Queen Bed, a Queen Pull Down Bed, and a Twin Pull down bed. A sofa is under the Queen Pull Down Bed when the bed is put away. The Twin Pull Down bed is hidden under the T.V. There is a beautiful Tangled mural right beside the twin bed.

One of the coolest features of the Riviera Resort room was the T.V.! All of the rooms are equipped with Smart T.V.s that can connect to your device. We were able to stream right from our iPhones. The T.V. also had streaming services such as Netflix and even Disney+! This was definitely one of the best features of the room.

I honestly really enjoyed the bathroom in this Deluxe Studio room! I can definitely say it is the nicest bathroom I have used at a Disney resort, and I have also stayed at the Grand Floridian. The bathroom has two sinks, a toilet, and two showers. Thats right, two showers!

Disneys Riviera Resort Pools

There are two resort pools at Disneys Riviera Resort. Riviera pool is larger with a water slide plus Sil Vous Play, a splash and play area for younger kids.

If the activity level at Riviera pool is too much for your taste, head over to Beau Soleil Pool. This relaxation pool doesnt have the same bells and whistles as the main pool, but is a perfect place for a quiet dip.

Should You Stay At Disneys Riviera Resort

If youre up to trying the newest resort on Disney property, with easy Skyliner access to 2 parks give it a go! The Character Breakfast at Topolinos is a hit, and so are the 2 swimming pools.

If youre not into spending the money to stay at Disneys Riviera, consider staying right next door at Disneys Caribbean Beach. Youll still have access to the Skyliner and can always take a stroll over to Disneys Riviera for more dining options!

Not sure if youre going? You can about a potential Disney vacation.

How Much Does It Cost To Stay At Disney Riviera Resort

When youre looking to budget for a stay at this resort you need to be aware of peak and off-peak pricing times at WDW. Prices are going to be the highest during holiday seasons and on the weekends. You can save hundreds if you stay during an off-peak time and mid-week.

The Disney Riviera Resort price will also depend on whether youre renting DVC points or booking the resort like a normal hotel room. The price will also depend on the type of room you want to book. This is a Deluxe Resort property so its one of the most expensive Disney resort options.

Staying at a Walt Disney World Resort does give you some perks like an earlier FastPass booking window and extra magic hours .

Getting The Riviera Dvc Villas For Less

Riviera Resort Review | Disney Resort Review | DVC | Adults in Disney | Disney World Hotel

As a DVC resort, guests can avoid paying published rates at the Riviera by renting points from a DVC Point reseller.

You can rent any Disney World Vacation club property as well as Aulani, or the Grand Californian at Disneyland provided that they can match you with an owner.

How to book for serious savings

The site has a point and cash calculator that shows the point and cash amount based on your travel dates at the DVC properties. Using points offers a considerable discount. Seriously, check out your stay for yourself on Davids vs. on the Disney site as a hotel reservation.

You fill out a form with your top resort choices and dates and make a refundable deposit to start the booking process. Davids team begins seeing what owners and points match, and they respond with availability. You can tell them to keep looking, choose something, or ask for your refund.

Owners are restricted to how many reservations they can make each year on other peoples behalf, so most owners look for large point reservations to use up these points.

You may have difficulty if you are trying to rent with a reservation valued less than 44 points, which is about $700. Most owners want bigger reservations to sell as many points as possible. If an owner has 100 points and makes a big reservation the costs 80 points, thats a scenario where there is an owner on hand ready to make a much smaller DVC reservation for you of 20 points.

Transportation Options From Riviera Resort

The absolute best transportation option at Disneys Riviera is the Skyliner! This is Disneys newest form of transportation. Its a gondola system that will carry you from place to place. The Skyliner makes it so easy to get to two of Disneys theme parks. From the Riviera, you can take the Skyliner to Hollywood Studios and Epcot.

If youre traveling to Epcot, the Skyliner will take you right to International Gateway, so you can enter by the France pavilion! If youre traveling to Hollywood Studios, you will have to take the Skyliner to the main hub located at Caribbean Beach. From there you will get off and get back on a different Skyliner route. The lines move fairly quickly for the Skyliner since its constantly moving, making it a quick and easy mode of transportation.

Want to visit Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, or the water parks? The Riviera Resort has buses that will take you to all of these locations! If you dont want to take the Skyliner to Epcot or Hollywood Studios, there are also buses that will take you to these parks. However, the Skyliner would definitely be faster!
