Best Places For Viewing Disney World Fireworks Outside The Parks
There are few things more magical than a fireworks display. From the sparkling colors and twinkling shapes to the loud booms and perfectly timed music, its an enchanting end to an evening. So, its no wonder that nighttime fireworks spectaculars are a Disney institution. And best of all, you dont even need a theme park ticket to enjoy them.
Whether youd rather not fight the crowds, are looking to save some money, or want an extra-memorable meal, there are several places to see Disney fireworks outside the parks. Keep reading for our guide to the best Disney World fireworks viewing locations, no park ticket necessary.
Evening fireworks displays have returned to Magic Kingdom and Epcot since July 1, 2021. However, there is still no word on when Hollywood Studios fireworks will start back up. Additionally, keep in mind that due to the pandemic, access to the Disney World resorts is restricted to those with either a room or dining reservation. Disneys health and safety procedures are subject to change without notice, so be sure to refer to the My Disney Experience app, the Disney World website, or on-site cast members for the most current information. On a semi-related note, the monorail stop at Disneys Polynesian Resort is also currently unavailable, though due to construction, not COVID-19.
Other Magic Kingdom Nighttime Entertainment
Though Disney Enchantment is the main nighttime spectacular for Magic Kingdom, there is still plenty of fun once the sun sets as smaller nighttime entertainment continues.
Electrical Water Pageant
Whimsical sea creatures light up Seven Seas Lagoon in this nightly water parade. The parade typically starts at 9 p.m. and rotates through the lake for an hour. It is viewable from the Magic Kingdom hotels, as well as Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge. There are also special enhancements made for the 50th anniversary!
Once Upon a Time
The Once Upon a Time projection show occurs about half an hour after the main fireworks show, as Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast shares bedtime stories with Chip. See scenes from Disney classics such as “Cinderella,” “Peter Pan,” “Alice in Wonderland” and “Frozen.” This show is temporarily unavailable.
The “Kiss Goodnight”
Stick around past the official park closing time and you might just hear a special closing announcement. Cinderella Castle lights up for a brief farewell message about half an hour after the park closes. After a long day, it’s that extra pixie dust that adds a nice touch to an already magical day!
Dessert Parties Inside The Magic Kingdom
In the Magic Kingdom Park, there are 3 dessert parties for Disney Enchantment that were created for the 50th Anniversary celebration.
Each one offers 50th-themed treats throughout the evening at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant including chocolate-dipped strawberries and butterscotch pudding, plus a variety of cheeses. Drinks are also available, including an assortment of beer and wine for guests ages 21 and over.

We Love The Fireworks
The fireworks are a big part of our Disney World trips. We love using each of these locations but I think everyone should experience viewing them right in front of the castle at least once. Whether you are standing on Main Street, close to Frontierland or Tomorrowland, you will get all of the feels of being immersed right in the middle of the magic! A Disney World Fireworks show is a moment you will never forget!

Disney World ‘fantasy In The Sky’ Fireworks Show Start Time
According to the official Disney blog post, the Fantasy in the Sky livestream will start at the oddly specific time of 11.48 p.m. ET.
For those in other time zones, this translates to 8:48 p.m. PST and 4:48 a.m. GMT. In the case of the latter, this means that you will actually be watching the event on January 1.
The blog post does not go into granular detail about what the show will entail but we can confirm that, as per tradition, it will take place around the Cinderella Castle landmark, which is situated just at the end of Main Street U.S.A.
It’s also been teased that the fireworks will be choreographed to famous tracks from Disney movies, as well as to recognizable songs from the surrounding theme park attractions.
Disney World Evening Fireworks & Spectaculars
Most of the four major Walt Disney World parks has an evening fireworks show or spectacular . They can include fireworks, projections, music and other special effects and usually last 15-30 minutes. There is no separate charge to watch these spectaculars theyre included with park admission. Since the better viewing spots, whether seated or standing, are first-come, first-serve, people often stake out a spot early and stay there until its time for the show to start. But this can mean a lot of sitting around, which may not be how you want to spend your time at Walt Disney World.
Please note: Only some firework shows and evening spectaculars are running and so some dessert parties and special viewing options are unavailable to book see below for more details.
If you dont want to have someone stake out a spot, there are basically two key ways to score a decent seat with minimal hassle. You can purchase a dining package or dessert party that includes access to a reserved view area, if thats available. Or, you can book a VIP tour typically they wont guarantee they can get you reserved seating for a particular show, but in our experience the VIP tour guides have a lot of resources at their disposal and can almost always get their guests a good spot to view shows. The VIP tour option is realistically outside the price range for most groups, but you can read more about it on our Tours & Activities page.

I Make Time To Resort
The fancy resort is worth visiting.Noelani Soto
The Grand Floridian is probably the fanciest resort at Disney World, and I’ve had some serious luck resort-hopping there.
I’m not sure if this is a regular occurrence, but sometimes you can find free activities, food, or beverages around the grounds.
On two recent occasions, I was able to enjoy a nice glass of champagne and s’mores.
Views From The Contemporary Resort: Fireworks Testing
Cinderella Castle lights up the nighttime sky prior to the fireworks testing.
When the first boom was heard, there were a lot of happy people watching. Fireworks were backat least for one night.
Space Mountain was a backdrop for the fireworks testing.
All of Magic Kingdom was illuminated by these fireworks.
The view from Disneys Contemporary Resort was perfect!
Guests ooohed and ahhhed during the testing.
Local residents enjoyed the fireworks for the first time since March.
And MickeyBlog.com brought you all the action in between some solid banter from the Contemporary Resort as he waited patiently for the fireworks to begin.

Fireworks Return To Disney World
After over a year of waiting, fireworks finally returned to Walt Disney World on July 1.
Fireworks shows at two of the Disney World theme parks are currently running with nightly performances of Happily Ever After at Disneys Magic Kingdom and EPCOT Forever at EPCOT.
Originally, this news started out as a rumor recently with some cast members claiming that fireworks will be back in the parks by the 4th of July. It turns out those rumors were true and Disney then made the announcement about getting fireworks again.
This was ideal since the 4th of July is one of the biggest days of the year for fireworks and not having them two years in a row would have been almost unthinkable. Disney usually runs a special show for the 4th of July as a tribute to the holiday so its something many guests look forward to.
Disney recently made an announcement about Wonderful World of Animation, one of the nighttime spectaculars returning to Hollywood Studios. There are still no dates for Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular or Fantasmic!
There may not be enough demand right away to support all three shows running at Hollywood Studios. Also, the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT are more known for their fireworks extravaganzas, and Disney wanted to have them going in time for the 4th.
On the 4th both Happily Ever After and EPCOT Forever finished with special holiday endings.
Jelly Rolls At The Boardwalk Has The Best Late
If you’re looking for adult, late-night fun, Jelly Rolls is a must.
The dueling-piano bar is located on Disney’s BoardWalk, and the audience can request songs for the pianists to play.
There’s an entrance fee of $20 to $25, and it’s a 21+ establishment, but it’s the most fun I’ve had in Disney World after hours.

It’s The Same Show Almost Every Time So You’re Not Missing Anything
I’ve been going to Magic Kingdom for years, and the fireworks show has only changed a handful of times.
From 1971 to 2003, the show was called “Fantasy in the Sky,” so it was the same show for my entire childhood. They have updated the show more frequently as of late, but typically each new rendition lasts a few years. For example, the most recent show, “Happily Ever After,” started in 2017 and just ended this year.
My family likes to go to Magic Kingdom almost every year, and they want to watch the fireworks every time. It got to the point where I could recite the lyrics to the songs that played during the show. For me, it started to feel like a waste of time.
The show has been updated this year for Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebrations and is titled “Disney Enchantment.” So it might be worth it to check out this year, but in my opinion, once is enough.
Top 8 Tips For Disney Enchantment Fireworks At Disneys Magic Kingdom
Disney Enchantment dazzles the senses with colorful fireworks, uplifting music, and amazing projections of Disney characters, not to mention a flyby of your favorite pixie. Because of its popularity, Main Street, U.S.A. and the plaza in front of Cinderellas Castle floods with people, thereby creating challenges to your enjoyment of the show. Therefore, consider these top eight tips for making Disney Enchtanment a pleasurable experience.
8 Choose a Premium Spot
Youll want to choose a location with an optimal view. Avoid standing right in front of the castle because while youll have a fantastic view of the projection, you wont get the full view of the fireworks. Therefore, make sure you stand somewhere behind the statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse. Also, stay away from Town Square if you dont want the buildings along Main Street, U.S.A. crowding your view. Because of its elevated vantage point, the second floor of the train station draws a lot of viewers however, the flag pole cuts right in the center of the show. An excellent spot can be found right where Main Street, U.S.A. empties into the plaza. Unfortunately, this area can be difficult to occupy as cast members direct traffic through it. Some insiders recommend standing along the fence in front of the Crystal Palace, but since its a walkway, those pushing strollers and wheelchairs or riding ECVs should avoid it.

Riding The Skyliner Can Help You Beat Traffic With Stunning Views

Avoid Disney traffic on the roads by riding the Skyliner to Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, or Disney’s Riviera Resort.

Other Disney Fireworks Viewing Locations Beyond The Theme Parks
Looking for even more ideas for Disney fireworks viewing outside the theme parks? Whether youre looking for a birds-eye view of a nighttime spectacular from afar or a glimpse of the evening festivities from the comfort of your room, there are a few more places to enjoy the Disney fireworks that dont require a theme park admission.
Disney Fireworks-View Resort Rooms
If you love fireworks but hate crowds, then we have the perfect solution for you: A room with a theme park view. Comfortable? Definitely. Crowd-free? Blissfully. Memorable? Without a doubt.
That being said, fireworks-view rooms at Disney arent just few and far between, theyre also incredibly popular. In other words, if you know that you want to be able to see the fireworks sparkle in the sky outside your hotel window, then you need to reserve that room type ahead of time. When booking your room reservation, be sure to choose a room type designated as having a fireworks and/or theme park view.
Rooms with views of the Disney fireworks are available at the following resorts:

The Park Gets Way Too Crowded And People Start Fighting
About two hours before the show starts, parkgoers head to the castle to pick their spot for the night’s show. In my experience, this leads to two main problems.
First, the center of the park becomes very crowded. It gets so bad that it’s impossible to maneuver your way down Main Street and even more difficult to get near the castle. As everyone flocks to one small section of Magic Kingdom, everyone starts packing closer and closer together.
Second, people become very territorial. Some start lining up hours early to get a good spot, so when others come in and try to grab a spot just minutes before the show starts, tensions rise. I’ve witnessed countless people bicker and even fight during the show because they can’t see or because they think someone stole their place.
For me, the crowds take all the magic out of the show.
Inside Magic Kingdom Park
The first location and our personal favorite can be found within the park, but timing on this spot is everything. High above Main Street U.S.A. is the top of the train station. Personally, we think this is the best view in the house for fireworks and for parade viewing as well. We love to grab a small quick service meal or a snack to take up with us to enjoy while we wait for show time. The best time to arrive is at least one hour prior to show time. If time allows in our schedule, we like to get there earlier. The railing spots will fill up quickly. Some seating is available up on the train station as well, but you will have to arrive pretty early to snag a spot.
Number two is the Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover. This one will give great views of the fireworks but it will not allow you to see the whole show from start to finish. It is a great experience, especially for those who may have already seen the show before but still want to catch a glimpse. Timing is everything on this one because you dont want to get on too early or too late. Check your My Disney Experience App for show times on the day you are visiting and you will be able to time it from there.
