Walt Disney World Orlando

Your Disney vacation is booked. You have a flight and hotel lined up. You’ve researched top Orlando destinations, created a vacation itinerary and purchased tickets. But have you considered how you’ll get from the airport to your hotel? It’s a question many travelers don’t consider until it’s too late. And there’s a serious lack of simple, affordable and convenient transportation options to get you from the airport to your hotel.

The Walt Disney World Resort area is located 30 to 45 minutes away from the airport in moderate traffic. Before you arrive, you want to have a transportation plan in place. We can help check out the various transportation options below.

Disney Airport Transportation Options

First things first, I must specify that these specific examples, and any costs associated with them, are specific to Orlando International Airport only.

Sanford Airport is another popular airport to fly into for a Disney vacation because some discount airlines land there.

However, your transportation options are more limited, and likely more expensive. Make sure you factor that into your calculations for the cost of airfare.

What Is The Difference Between The Standard And Express Service

The Standard service is a shared ride service on our Mears Connect that is economical as the fare includes all tolls and other surcharges. The Connection will make a limited number of stops and will have you on your way to your resort within 20 minutes of your check-in to the Mears Connect reception area.

The Express service is direct service to your resort and back to the airport , with limited to no wait time. The Express service may be provided in a bus, van or a small vehicle as well. This service includes all tolls and other surcharges. NOTE: Express service is not considered private service, it may be shared service.

Both standard and express services incorporate all current city, county, state, federal and CDC health and safety measures and both services will provide your party with continuously clean, sanitized vehicles.

Orlando Airport To Disney World By Car

Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line and Orlando ...

As with any other airport, you have the option to rent a car and drive to Walt Disney World. Renting a car is an excellent idea for those who plan to sightsee in other locations. Rental cars are also ideal for families who have children that require a car seat.

Not all car rentals come with car seats as an option, so its best to book in advance with a company that can guarantee the seats you need.

The official car rental service for Walt Disney World Resort is Alamo, and you can book their services when you make your Disney reservation or separately on their website. Some Disney hotels also charge extra for overnight parking for guests, so its a good idea to check and confirm you need the use of a car for your trip.

Through Alamo, a standard-sized vehicle large enough for a family of four will cost about $166 per day, and a booster seat or infant car seat costs an additional $7. So for your family of four, you can expect a rental car to cost about $1200 per week, not including gas and other add-ons or fees.

A Note on Parking Fees

There are overnight parking fees at Disney that amount to $15 each night for Value Resorts, $20 per night for parking at Moderate Resorts, and $25 a night at Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villa Resorts. Parking at campsites at Disneys Fort Wilderness Resort is complimentary, with one vehicle allowed at each site, but cabins charge $20 per night for parking.
