West Lake Toho, The Kissimmee Chain of Lakes, The Butler Chain of Lakes, and all of the other lakes I take my customers to are conveniently located within 15 miles of Disney World, Sea World, Universal Studios, and other Orlando / Kissimmee area theme parks. I offer FREE transportation to and from most Orlando / Kissimmee area hotels and resorts. This means, I will personally pick you up at your resort the morning of the trip, and bring you back when we’re done.

Disney World, here in Orlando, Florida, also offers Bass fishing Charters. However, their services are quite different from what I offer. While they do offer the use of Bass boats, many of their guided Bass fishing trips are done from pontoon boats. At Chuck’s Guide Service, thanks to my sponsors at Ranger Boats, Evinrude Outboards, and Toho Marine & Outdoors, you’re guaranteed to be fishing out of a model year Ranger Z520C powered by an Evinrude 250 G2. Feel free to take a look at my bass boat.

Disney World’s private lakes, from what I hear, are full of Bass. Recent reports, though, are just that. There are a lot of Largemouth Bass being caught at their lakes, but not many trophies . This is due, in part, to mismanagement of their catch and release policies and over stocking. Though, I cannot guarantee a trophy Bass, you will always have a chance of catching that once in a lifetime trophy while fishing a lake I take you to. You can see many of these trophy Bass on my , , or .

For The Bass Fisherman:

  • We caught a ton of bass. Well over thirty good size bass with the largest over 6 pounds.
  • Our guide Rick was extremely knowledgeable and had the normal pleasant Disney Cast member charm.
  • Rick has been a guide for some time and really knew where to take us to locate and catch fish.
  • Rick spent the right amount of time at each location where we caught fish at each one. He provided a good balance between moving around to different spots and catching fish. We definitely spent a lot more time fishing than moving around. There was another guide out in the same lake and their boat moved considerably more and to different locations. Not sure they caught the same quantity and size of fish.
  • Interestingly on both outings we finished up at the money spot right by the dock where we caught a significant number of fish and actually my son caught the largest one of the day .
  • This is serious fishing with either live or artificial bait. The lake is not stocked.
  • As the Disney waters are private there is very little traffic on the lake outside of the Disney transportation boats, the fishing guides and a few pontoon rentals. Nobody else is on the lake.
  • Rick was not a clock-watcher so he was flexible on when we left and returned to the dock. On both the two-hour outing in December and the four-hour outing this June we got plenty of fishing in. That being said, Rick was prompt and ready to go right at 7:00 with towels on the wet seats and a full load of shiners in the live well.

How Fishing Helps The Outdoors

The Take Me Fishing initiative was started by the Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation , a non-profit organization whose mission is to increase participation in recreational angling and boating.

In a way, fishing is the outdoors sport that gives back. Did you know that licensing and tax on fishing gear goes towards funding conservation projects, fish stocking, improving docks and recreation areas, and improving water ways? As an outdoors lover, the fact that this has a direct, positive effect on protecting and restoring our aquatic resources is highly appealing to me.

I grew up in South Dakota, occasionally fishing the Missouri River with my dad.

Fast forward a few decades, and I have not really fished as an adult. However, seeing how thrilled my kids were to be out on that water, and the excitement when one of us caught a fish has re-ignited my interest in this awesome family outdoors activity!

Bass Fishing In The Magic Kingdom Area At Walt Disney World

Walt Disney World Guided Fishing Excursion Review: Episode ...

Its always fun to try new things at Walt Disney World. Recently a friend and I experienced a guided fishing excursion at the Magic Kingdom area in the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake.

I had never fished before my friend had a little more experience. But it doesnt matter if youre an expert angler or a newbie like mesince its a guided tour, the boat captain will show you exactly what to do, and help you if you need assistance at any time during the trip.

First, you need to make a reservation so they can prepare the boat for your excursion, by calling 407 WDW BASS. I find phone wait times are generally best in the evening, when I almost always get right through. You can book these tours 90 days in advance or less. As they do a number of trips each day, it was very easy to book our first choice only a couple of weeks in advance. A credit card is needed to hold the reservation, but you will not be charged until you have finished the fishing trip. However, you must cancel within 24 hours if you change your mind or you will be charged the full price. A maximum of 5 people are allowed in the boat, and the cost varies depending on the time of day that you go. Current prices per boatload are as follows:

7AM or 10AM start: $270 for a 2 hour excursion, $455 for 4 hours.

1:30 PM $235 for a two hour excursion. This excursion time is also available for single guests at a cost of $170.

There are no fishing excursions at night.

Take Me Bass Fishing At Walt Disney World

My family recently enjoyed a Take Me Fishing excursion that involved Walt Disney World bass fishing! Heres everything you need to know what do you need to bring, and where do the boats depart? Is it worth sacrificing valuable Park time on your Disney vacation? How does fishing help the outdoors, and why is this such a great family activity?

Although my family has had a few vacations at Walt Disney World, on our recent trip we had an adventure like nothing weve ever experienced. Disney World bass fishing and boating now thats my kind of adventure!

It was a moment in which all my greatest loves blissfully collided: Disney the outdoors adventure my family boating sunshine! It makes me giddy just thinking about it.

I had heard that you could take guided bass fishing excursions right on the Disney World property. And honestly, my first reaction was I dont think Id want to sacrifice park time for that. Well, I WAS WRONG.

Im now convinced a bass fishing excursion is an ideal addition to a Disney family vacation.

Disney World fishing turned out to be a relaxing, extremely enjoyable time with my family. We were surrounded by gorgeous scenery, along with spotting some of our favorite Disney resorts along the magical shoreline. Beautiful water birds hung around our boat, hoping for a bit of stray bait to come available.

Having a low-key outdoor adventure like this, while still in the vicinity of the Disney magic, proves to be a perfect break.

Walt Disney World is the number one tourist attraction in Florida. Over 20 million people visit the Magic Kingdom every year. When planning a Disney World vacation, many visitors like to spend a day away from the theme parks and get out into nature. The Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge and Mosquito Lagoon offer the perfect place to experience some great fishing as well as having close encouters with a variety of wildlife. In spite of the scary sounding name, the Mosquito Lagoon is free from the biting insects during the daylight hours when we are fishing. For the anglers, the Lagoon system offers year round fishing for redfish , spotted seatrout, and black drum. Seasonal cacthes may include tarpon, jack crevalle, ladyfish, and snook. Because of the shallow protected waters, we can fish even when the weather is not optimal. From sight fishing with light tackle or fly gear for redfish to mixed bag fishing with shrimp or other live bait, there is something for everyone.

Walt Disney World Fishing Excursions

Walt Disney World Fishing Excursion

I get questions from time to time about the Walt Disney World Bass Fishing Excursions. People ask if I recommend them for kids, or even if I recommend them at all. The questions are of varying complexity, but all really come down to the same thing what do I think of spending precious vacation time at Walt Disney World on a fishing excursion, when theres already not enough time to do everything you might want to do.

Bottom line I do recommend the fishing excursions, if they fit into your overall plan. The challenge, of course, is that a fishing excursion is especially susceptible blowing up the best laid plans. Mother nature has her own plans. Youre dealing with a wily critter in its natural environment, who doesnt care whether or not youre having a good time. This is not a FastPass-enabled attraction, nor is it a quick service restaurant. While its rare, you might not even be rewarded for your effort. After that 6 hour wait, you can be pretty sure that youll eventually get your 90 seconds with Elsa. Billy Bass doesnt offer performance guarantees. And thats before you take into consideration Central Florida weather patterns that can generously be referred to as unpredictable.
