Think Outside The Box
Sometimes you may have to compromise a bit to get what you want. This is especially true if your group is on the larger size .
These tips are especially helpful for dining with large groups. However, the same concepts can be applied to smaller groups, too:
- Try for reservations during unpopular times of the day. Dinner and pre-park opening breakfasts are 2 of the most popular times of day to dine, which means theyll be the first slots to book up. Instead, try dining during less popular times of the day to maximize your chances of finding an opening.
- If you cant get 1 reservation for your entire group, try splitting up into 2 smaller ones. When you check-in, youll be able to ask the hostess to seat you together (or at least near one another, although this isnt a guarantee. And, depending on your group size, even if you booked under 1 reservation, the table configurations at some restaurants simply dont allow for large groups to be seated all together, so there is always the chance your group might be split up.
What Should I Do
We understand you are probably upset about your previous dining plans. This whole situation is extremely frustrating, especially after spending so much time trying to land all your favorite restaurants.
However, now, if you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World, you can start making your dining reservations once again once you are 60 days from your hotel arrival date or from the desired dining date.
We suggest you make them right away as reservations are extremely limited at this time.
Once you get your park reservations and figure out which hotels are going to be open, you can start planning which restaurants you would like to still book a table for.
If you have questions you can call Disney at 934-7639 or go on the Disney World website and use the chat feature to talk with someone.
Walt Disney World Resort Direct Restaurant Phone Numbers
Some restaurants that are in Disney World but which are not owned by Disney have direct phone numbers. Some of them might take reservations directly, in addition to taking them by the Disney system.

Sign Up For Cancellation Notifications
There are a couple of different websites that offer free and paid cancellation notifications for Walt Disney World Dining Reservations. All of these services work the same way: you set up a date/time range for the restaurant of your choice and their automated system searches the Disney World website for any cancelled reservations. If a cancelled reservation appears, you will get a text message with a direct link to reserve your spot and an email with the same instructions.
The main difference between these options is how often the websites search because the more often they search, the easier time you will have finding a cancellation. I have personally used all three of these websites and have had the most luck with the Touring Plans and Mouse Watcher reservation finder. Touring Plans was able to get me more cancelled reservations in advance but Mouse Watcher was able to find me reservations within a week of our trip for highly sought after restaurants. I had notifications set up on all three websites for the same restaurants and sometimes I would find one would send me a notification while others didn’t.
What Happened To My Dining Reservations
At this point, if you had booked Disney dining reservations prior to May, those have been canceled and you will not have them when Disney World reopens.
That doesnt mean you cant rebook those same restaurants again, however. Guests will have the opportunity to book those same restaurants again .
You will be automatically refunded for any pre-paid dining or dining experience reservations that were canceled. Your credit card will not be charged and you will not be charged a cancellation or no-show fee.

Celebration Of Festival Of The Lion King
First, Walt Disney Worlds Celebration of Festival of the Lion King needs vocalists. Disney Live Entertainment seeks talent aged 18 years and older for these roles.
In case you are unfamiliar, Celebration of Festival of the Lion King is an African-inspired show, featuring music and characters from The Lion King. The show performs at Disneys Animal Kingdom park.
You may submit applications until January 17, 2022. Also, the pay is $18.24 per hour, and it is under an Equity Walt Disney World Contract.
Disney World Advance Dining Reservations
Due to the increased popularity of Disneys Dining Plan, it is frequently impossible to just walk up and eat at a full-service restaurant, even in low season! If you are planning to try some of Disneys excellent table-service restaurants and/or dinner shows while you are vacationing at Walt Disney World, it is important to make Disney World Advance Dining Reservations online, using the MyDisneyExperience app on your phone or by calling . Recently Disney has been emphasizing making bookings online or using the app, and wait times are getting longer for calling in for reservations. Using the app or website you can only make reservations for up to 8 guests. If you have a party of 9 or more, you have to make reservations over the phone.
Not sure where you want to eat? Wondering how far in advance you can make a reservation? If you are new to using Disney World Advance Dining Reservations, weve got lots of information and advice here, including lists of the hard-to-get and easier-to-get locations.

Website Vs My Disney Experience
To book dining reservations online you can use the Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app. There isnt much difference between the two.
Both options let you book ADRs, check the status of existing reservations, and cancel reservations you dont want to keep. The booking window for both also starts at 6:00 am ET.
However, over the years we have found the website to be more consistent and quicker to make reservations with. The My Disney Experience app tends to timeout or freeze up more so we avoid it when we can.
We recommend you to use the website if you have a computer, but both of them are better options than making phone reservations.
Disney World Split Stays
If you are not sure what a split stay is, it is when you stay at two or more Disney hotels during your vacation. For example, 5 night at the Polynesian and 5 nights at Caribbean Beach.
In the case of a split stay, the 60+10 rule does NOT apply. On the 60th day from your arrival date, when are able to start making ADRs, you will only be able to book a restaurant for those first 5 days of your vacation at the Polynesian and not the last 5 at the Caribbean Beach.
Even though it would be logical to be able to book them all right away since you are staying all 10 days on Walt Disney World property, that is not the case.
In order to book the restaurant for the last 5 days at the Caribbean Beach Resort, you will have to wait until 60 days before your arrival at THAT resort. Even though we love split stays, this is one of the only downsides to doing it and is usually not a problem unless you are trying to book one of the absolute hardest-to-get reservations in Disney World.

What Is Gethuman’s Relationship To Walt Disney World
In short, the two companies are not related. GetHuman builds free tools and shares information amongst customers of companies like Walt Disney World. For large companies that includes tools such as our GetHuman Phone, which allows you to call a company but skip the part where you wait on the line listening to their call technology music. We’ve created these shortcuts and apps to try to help customers like you navigate the messy phone menus, hold times, and confusion with customer service, especially with larger companies. And as long as you keep sharing it with your friends and loved ones, we’ll keep doing it.

Do You Have To Make Dining Reservations For Disney World Restaurants
For most restaurants in Walt Disney World, you are not required to make a dining reservation ahead of time. However, when available, it is always best to get an advanced dining reservation for the restaurant you want to visit.
Depending on where you want to go, some restaurants are more difficult to get a table at than others. There are some restaurants that take walk-ins and are easier to pick at the last minute.
On the other hand, if you want to dine at one of the more popular restaurants in Disney World, then reservations are HIGHLY recommended and it will be extremely difficult to get in without one.
The time of year you are visiting also matters and the busier Disney World is when you visit, the more likely you will need an ADR. Just another reason to use a Disney Crowd Calendar before deciding when to visit.
Walt Disney World is not a great place for spontaneous eaters and you should familiarize yourself with how dining reservations work for the best results.
Disney World Last Minute Dining Reservations: Inspired By Our Personal Experience
On my most recent trip to Disney World, I booked at the last minute after switching a carefully planned a year in advance Disneyland trip to a trip to Disney World. I missed my 60 days mark to book our dining so from day one I was scrambling to get our dining reservations. To make matters even trickier, about 10 days before our trip Disney World’s dining system went through a major glitch and long story short I lost many of my carefully coveted dining reservations!
Despite these two major road bumps, I managed to recover all my dining reservations and we still were able to eat at all our top list places. This personal experience of panic and searching for dining hacks inspired me to write this article so hopefully it can help someone else out who may find themselves in a similar boat. With some ingenuity and dedication, you can score those Disney World last minute dining reservations!
Do You Have To Make Reservations For Disney World Restaurants
Yes and no. If you want to eat in the full-service restaurants, youll almost always need Disney World Advanced Dining Reservations. A walk-up booking can be unlikely for the most popular locations. If you dont want to commit to reservations, then its totally okay to eat at only quick-service dining locations for your entire trip. I did this when I traveled to Disney World alone with my infant. And the meals I had were great!
So, yes if you want to eat in the full-service restaurants, youll need ADR. No, you dont have to make reservations if youre okay with eating all quick-service. And of course if you want to dine with the popular characters at Topolinos Terrace, youre going to need a reservation!

When Will I Be Able To Make Disney Restaurant Reservations
When can you start making advanced dining reservations again? Disney has just announced that Advanced Dining Reservations are available for everyone and there difference between guests staying in a Walt Disney World Resort or not.
Disney had announced the new restaurant booking window is 60 days, and that takes effect starting June 30. Just count back 60 days from when your hotel arrival date is, or the date you want to book a table and that will tell you when you can start booking your restaurants.
In-Park Restaurants Reservations for theme park restaurants are now possible, and they will be REQUIRED for table service in-park restaurants.
You also will need a Park Pass Reservation since admission to the theme parks will not be given without one, only make dining reservations once your park passes are confirmed. You need to know which parks youll be going to first and then you can book your restaurants.
Well update you as soon as they make any changes.

Consider Checking For Odd Times Of The Day
I had luck with our Be Our Guest reservation by booking dinner at 7:55PM which was a strange time to eat with kids. But it worked out as we managed to get a reservation and since Magic Kingdom closed that day at 8PM, we were able to be in the parks after closing and take some great pictures in front of Cinderella’s Castle.
Be flexible with your times as often the most sought after times will remain those traditional lunch/dinner times of the day while afternoons or late evening may have more availability.
Bonus Tip: Become A Landry’s Select Member
If one of the Landry’s Club restaurants is at the top of your list but you weren’t able to find a reservation, if you show you’re a Landry’s Select Club member you will get seated without a reservation needed! This card applies to Yak & Yeti in Animal Kingdom, Rainforest Café in Animal Kingdom and Disney Springs, and T-REX in Disney Springs. Since these three restaurants are all highly sought after dining experiences, this is a great way to still get a table without a reservation.
The fee to join the club is $25 dollars but that $25 goes right back on your Landry’s card and you can put that towards your meal. If you plan on eating at one of these restaurants anyways then the cost is free. Watch out for sign up bonuses too! When I joined I got a $5 bonus so that was basically like $5 off our meal. You can also call the restaurant in advance, tell them you’re a select member, and see if they’ll just give you an advance reservation. We were able to do this with T-REX and it was no hassle at all.
Keep in mind while restaurants are still managing physical distancing in restaurants due to COVID, some Landry’s Select members have reported not always getting guaranteed seating like they used to so this is something to keep in mind. This is why calling ahead might be especially beneficial right now.

Keep Searching When You Arrive
Many guests may arrive to Disney World and stop searching for those must-do dining reservations. I mean, this makes sense because you’re busy and you may not want to spend time doing this on your trip. But even if you set aside a few minutes in the morning and evening to check, you may find the dining reservation you were looking for!
Since Disney World’s policy is to charge $10 per person cancellation fee for no shows if guests don’t cancel 24 hours prior to their reservation you may have the most luck for cancellations 24 hours before your ideal time. I managed to find two of my sought after reservation times while we were already at Disney World because I took the time to keep checking and it paid off.
Reservations On The Phone
If you dont have access to a computer or the mobile app, you can still make Disney World ADRs over the phone.
- The NEW phone number for Disney Dining Reservations during the reopening phase is: 824-1391.
- Disney Vacation Club Members can call Member Services at 800-9800.
- The normal phone number for Disney Dining Reservations is: WDW-DINE or 939-3463.
- Phone reservations can still be made 60 days before your arrival date like online reservations.
To make your dining reservations, call
The advanced dining reservation booking window starts at 7:00 am ET daily, which is 1 hour later than online reservations. This means that many of the best restaurant reservations are likely to be taken by the time you call at 7:00 am.
Besides potentially missing out on some restaurants, you also may experience long wait times while waiting for a Disney representative to answer the phone. The times to call with the shortest wait are on weekday evenings after 8:00 pm ET. Weekends are busier and any day at 7:00 am ET.
