1. Payment and Booking for Disney World Vacation Packages
When you book a package, youll have to put a deposit of $200 down within 3 days of booking, or immediately if youre booking on Disneys website.
You must pay the remainder 30 days or more before your arrival. If youre booking your package within that 30 days of your arrival, youll have to pay the entire amount when you book it.
2. CHANGES Modification for Disney World Vacation Packages
Any vacation package that is at least 31 days or more before your check in date can be modified with no penalty or fee from Disney. However there may be fees by third party hotels and suppliers. Disney will give you your money back, minus their fees, travel insurance premiums, and any other amounts owed.
For changes made 30 days or less before your arrival date, there may be a $50 fee per package if your modification results in a change in your package price. If your new package price is higher, youll be responsible for that charge as well.
Changes made 30 days or less before your arrival date may also cause change fees assessed by third party vendors such as hotels or other suppliers.
For changes made 30 days or less to your flights, youll be responsible for any increase jn airfare your new flights require, and any penalties the airline charges for changing your flight.
Please keep in mind that some airlines, hotels and suppliers do not permit changes in certain situations. Check with Disney for specifics.
Disneyland Paris Cancellation Policy
As someone from North America traveling to Disneyland Paris, their cancelation and modification policies seem completely out to lunch, if not illegal in many parts of our world. However, as a tourist in their country, we are required to follow their laws and hope that we have an agent that is able to explain all of the fees and policies before we virtually sign on the dotted line.
Having traveled to Disneyland Paris several times in the last 5 years, driving from Germany, we have always scheduled 1-2 months in advance, knowing full well that we are able to make it. This time, however, we are flying from Ottawa, Canada and booked almost 1 year in advance in order to capitalize on the amazing discounts they were offering.
Plans changed, things got in the way, and we are at a point where we need to cancel or at least seriously modify our current reservation. This is when we learned, for the first time, about Disneyland Paris cancellation policy and how hard it would be to get our deposit back. Regardless of the fact that we are calling 6 months in advance and they have plenty of time to put our reservation back on sale and sell it to another family at full price, guests are required to make an insurance claim in order to receive any sort of compensation.
Dining Reservation Cancellation Policy
For all table service restaurant reservations, guests will have to provide a credit card guarantee. If the reservation needs to be cancelled, but isn’t done one day in advance , a $10 per person charge will be made to the card. Reservations can be cancelled up to 11:59 p.m. the day before the reservation to avoid the charge. To cancel, guests can call WDW-CNCL, stop by any table service restaurant front desk, call , or use your My Disney Experience app. You may want to consider modifying your reservation to a different date as well. Reservations can also be made and cancelled online at www.DisneyWorld.com/Dining.
Some locations require pre-payment, such as Cinderella’s Royal Table, Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, and the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show. If these reservations aren’t cancelled one day in advance, the full amount will be charged.
This policy is in place for both Disney owned and operated restaurants, as well as operating participants.Whenever you make a dining reservation, you want to be sure to read the cancellation policy for each restaurant as it can vary by location and is subject to change at any time.
What Other Cancelations Should You Be Aware Of
Once your hotel reservations are squared away, you will want to make sure you cancel any other Disney World reservations that would be associated with a no-show fee. This includes Advance Dining Reservations, which ask for a Credit Card guarantee upon booking. In those situations, guests will be charged $10 per guest for a no-show or for cancelations made within 1 day prior to the reservation.
If you made any additional special non-dining reservations, then you should cancel those as well at the time you cancel your vacation. This includes Savis Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxys Edge, which charges the full product price if you are a no-show .
Book With Confidence Flexible Cancellation Policy At Walt Disney World Set To End Next Week
As a result of COVID-19 related travel issues, Walt Disney World Resort adopted a Book with Confidence flexible cancellation policy that began last year. As of May 1st, 2021, that policy is ending.
Under this flexible policy, guests could Book with Confidence knowing that they would not be penalized for needing to change or cancel their resort stays.
For guest stays booked on or after May 1st, 2021, the Book with Confidence policy ends and the standard Walt Disney World® Resort Cancellation Policy will return. That policy is listed below:

Disneyland Paris Modification Policy
A non-refundable deposit of fifteen percent of the total cost of your booking will be required for bookings made more than sixty days before your arrival date.
After your initial booking, modifications can not be made online, even if this is how you booked your holiday. Modifications can only be made by calling the Disneyland Paris call center. They can be reached at 08448 008 898
Disneyland Paris is experiencing higher than normal call volume due to its changing reservation system. Hopefully, this means we will soon see an app that is able to make modifications and dining reservations just like in Walt Disney World.
There are rules to the modifications, however. Disneyland Paris does allow for alterations between 61-8 days, free of charge when modifying to a higher price point. This also means there is a modification charge when modifying to a lower price point, as much as charges 89euro per booking, when calling 61-8 days in advance.

- All prices are in U.S. dollars and are subject to change until package is paid in full. Prices are for the total package and cannot be broken down into individual package component prices. After package is paid in full, package price is subject to change due to imposition of taxes or other charges of governmental authorities. Rules For Disney World Room Only Reservations
Room only reservations offer better terms for cancellation and payment dates than vacation packages booked through the Walt Disney Travel Company . When booking a room only reservation, you are subject to very few restrictions:
- You must pay the first nights room rate as a deposit within 3 days of reserving your room.
- Final payment of the remainder is due at check-in.
- You can change or cancel your reservation without penalty up until 5 days prior to check-in.
- The cancellation penalty for cancelling less than 5 days from check-in is the first nights room rate. A no-show is considered a cancellation and has the same penalty.
- Beware Disneys phone agents may try to sell you a basic package when you want to book a room only reservation. A basic package is just a room and some trinkets . It is subject to the more stringent vacation package rules .
- To reserve a Walt Disney World room only reservation, first check the online travel agencies to see if they have any specials or coupons that could save you extra money. Be sure to look carefully at the cancellation and deposit policies before booking. If you dont see anything that works for you, you can contact a full-service travel agent who specializes in Disney travel, call the Disney Reservations Center at , or book online at DisneyWorld.com .

Disney World Room Only Cancellation Policy
A Disney World room only reservation is exactly what it sounds like. It means youve booked a Disney resort room, and nothing else. Perhaps you bought your tickets separately from Undercover Tourist or another discount ticket seller and arent interested in the Disney dining plan. All of this constitutes a Disney World room only reservation.
The straightforward room only Disney hotel cancellation policy states you can cancel your reservation up to 5 days in advance of arrival to get a full refund. The Disney World room only cancellation policy is the most forgiving in terms of time frame and being able to wait almost until the last minute and still get a refund.
However, this does not address getting a refund on park tickets. But more on that below.

Walt Disney World Package Deposit And Cancellation Policy
If you are planning a trip, you need to know the Walt Disney World deposit and cancellation policies.
Disney World Package Deposit & Cancellation Policy:
You can book a Disney World Package for as little as $200 per room. Disney then requires you pay the remaining balance of your package at least 30 days prior to arrival. Your package is completely pre-paid, before you leave for your vacation.

Canceling Disney Dining Reservations
The easiest way to do this is through My Disney Experience. Each dining reservation listed under your plans has a link next to it to cancel the reservation. Simply follow the prompts and the dining reservation is cancelled.
While Disney discouraged calling them directly regarding dining reservations, you can still cancel that way. Especially if you plan to call to cancel your trip anyway, the Cast Member can take care of cancelling all of your dining reservations.

Can You Cancel A Disney Trip And Get Your Money Back
Unfortunately, no. You cannot cancel a theme park ticket or Disney vacation package and get a refund. In some instances, however, Disney may allow you to use valid theme park tickets on a vacation in the future.
Disney no longer offers tickets with the No Expiration Option. All Disney theme park tickets now have an expiration date. Tickets expire 14 days after first use. However, if you purchased No Expiration Tickets prior to 2004, Disney will honor them.
Disney World Room Only Reservation Rules
1. Payment and Booking for Disney World Room Only Reservations
Youll pay for one full night as a deposit within 3 days of booking, or immediately if when you book the room on Disneys website.
You can pay the remainder on the day of your arrival at check-in. However if youre booking online on Disneys website within 30 days of your arrival, youll make full payment. Keep in mind that if you do participate in On-Line Check-In, your card may be charged the night before your arrival or the morning of your arrival.
2. CHANGES Modification for Disney World Room Only Reservations
You can modify a Room-Only reservation at any time with no penalties or fees.
3. Cancellations of Disney World Room Only Reservations.
For a room-only reservation, you can cancel 5 or more days prior to your arrival with no penalty. Its 6 days if you booked your vacation online on Disneys site.
Inside of 5 days , cancellation would result in losing your deposit . Again, you can modify your reservation any time prior to your arrival without penalty. If you dont show up, thats considered a cancellation and you lose your deposit.
