What Is An Annual Pass Voucher & Where Do I Exchange It
If you purchase your Annual Pass via any method other than in-person on Disney property, you will receive a voucher that you must redeem once you arrive.
You can link your voucher to your My Disney Experience account so you can make your Park Pass Reservations.
While it can be a hassle to redeem the voucher when you arrive, your ticket start date doesnt begin until you physically hand over the voucher and pick up your pass.
You can exchange your voucher at any Guest Relations or ticket location at the Walt Disney World Resort.
This includes the Guest Relations windows at Disney Springs.
Note: dont forget to take your photo ID with you when you redeem your voucher or purchase your Annual Pass.
You can not, however, exchange your voucher at your resort.
This is important to note because if you book using an Annual Pass resort discount you may be asked to present your Annual Pass at check in, which means youll need to exchange your voucher before you can do that.
Note: there are reports of Cast Members not asking to see the Annual Pass at check-in but Disney does state that you must present it so it is better to be prepared.
Disney World Annual Pass Free Parking
If you are an Annual Passholder youll get free parking at all of the theme parks for the entire year.
If you stay at a hotel not on Disney property, youll rack up substantial savings with this benefit. Parking is $25 per day at the theme parks . So on a five-day trip, youd save $125 just on parking with your pass.
If you have an off-property timeshare or visit every year and stay off-property, the parking savings could easily be over $250 if you stretch your pass out over two trips!
You Might Be Eligible If
Now, from what I gather, only previous Disney World Annual Passholders whose passes expired in 2020 after the closure, or in 2021 are eligible for this waitlist. If youre looking to be a first time Annual Passholder, you wont be able to get on this waitlist.
DVC members are also being given precedence to buy new Annual Passes, so if youre a DVC member, you might have extra wiggle room to get on the waitlist.
Of course, there are no official waitlist rules that Ive been able to find anywhere. This is just the information I was able to gather through my own experience and by talking to others who were successful with it as well.
Hopefully it will also work for some of you! Best of luck to one and all.

MagicMobile is a great offering, and you can use it to enter the park and for FastPass+. It is truly an alternative to using a MagicBand and works for many people who are used to having their cell phones on hand during a Disney vacation Which is most people giving the integration of the My Disney Experience app to the in-park experience.
Walt Disney World Annual Pass Tiers
A Disney World Annual Pass allows for multiple visits to Disney World throughout the year. The amount of possible days varies based on the pass. With the new program, there are now four Annual Pass levels three for local Florida residents and one available to anyone. Only Florida resident passes allow for a monthly payment other Annual Passes must be paid in full. Likewise, you’ll want to decide whether you’d like to add-on options like Disney PhotoPass downloads or visits to the waterparks, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Disney’s Blizzard Beach. Disney World Annual Pass levels are:
- Disney Incredi-Pass
- Disney Pirate Pass
- Disney Pixie Dust Pass
Outside of cost, the biggest differentiator is blockout dates. Certain passes have blackout dates in the parks, while the Incredi-Pass does not. Be sure to take a look at the blockout calendar before you commit!
Keep in mind that you can always upgrade your pass by paying the difference at Guest Relations. The same goes for regular park admission as long as you haven’t used the last day of your tickets, you can upgrade to an Annual Pass at Guest Relations by paying the difference

So When Does It Make Sense To Buy An Annual Pass
In the past, it was relatively easy to make a case for 1 person in a group to get an Annual Pass in order to take advantage of things like free PhotoPass and resort discounts.
But, that is no longer the case.
And, because ticket prices are now date-based , it is more difficult than ever to give a blanket recommendation on who should and shouldnt purchase an Annual Pass.
Take a look at our charts below.
We pulled numbers for 2 different times of the year: early May and the week of Thanksgiving .
You can see that even on trips that span 10 days, you are hundreds of dollars from breaking even on ticket prices.
This is true even for offsite guests that get a bit more value out of their Annual Pass considering they can save on theme park parking:
That means, unless you are planning multiple trips or unless you are positive youll be able to save big on a resort stay, it probably doesnt make sense to purchase an Annual Pass.
Why Bring Back Annual Passes Now
In recent months weve seen a huge uptick in the crowd levels and even though things have slowed in recent weeks, its clear things are slowly getting back to normal. Disney has increased the park capacity multiple times already, allowing for more and more guests.
They havent announced the exact theme park capacity percentage, but just by walking through the parks, its hard to imagine that its under 75% right now.
So with park capacity increasing, there is enough space to bring back the less profitable more annual passholders. Also, with the Disney World 50th Anniversary starting October 1, the company wants as much buzz around the parks as possible, which is a great reason to bring back their #1 fans and promoters.
As soon as we hear more about annual passes coming back to WDW we will update you with all the info so stay tuned.

Walt Disney World Annual Passes
During the pandemic, Walt Disney World stopped the sale of new Annual Passes. In fact, it was not until August 30th, 2021 that Disney announced the sale of Annual Passes would return.
On , Walt Disney World fans were able to purchase passes once again. However, this came with a bit of a change to tiers of passes.
It also came with a warning that the sale of Annual Passes could become unavailable for purchase at any time.
That time is now. Only one type of Annual Pass remains available.

What Dont You Get As A Disney Season Passholder
One of the cons of a Disney Annual Pass is that when youre using your annual pass in lieu of purchasing separate tickets, you will lose out on other specials that Walt Disney World offers like Disney free dining and Magic Your Way Packages. Sometimes the Magic Your Way Package could reap a deeper discounted vacation than having the pass, so these cons are worth looking at ahead of time. The same goes for Free Dining Offers. If you live for the free dining deals and depend on it to feed your family on vacation, a minimum 4-day ticket and 3 nights is required at a Disney resort to earn the dining promotion. That said, you would actually have to buy that 4 day/3 night package at the regular Magic Your Package prices in order to get the free dining. Having the pass, in this case, may be redundant.
How To Use The Annual Pass Blockout Calendar
Using either the Walt Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app, go to Make Theme Park Reservations, then under View Current Availability choose Annual Pass.
On the next screen, select which annual pass type you are using and then choose the park you want to make a reservation for. This will show you the available dates and which dates are blocked out.
When you look at the calendar, if a date has a line slashed through it, that means those dates are blocked out for your annual pass type. If you see a green dot underneath the number, that means park pass reservations are available for that date. Again, yellow stars signify bonus reservations available.
The lockout dates themselves will not change throughout the year, but park pass availability will change so check regularly.
The Pixie Dust Pass has the most blockout dates, followed by the Pirate Pass, and then the Sorcerer Pass. Lets take a closer look:

Cost Of Disney World Annual Passes
It is worth noting however that even an Annual Pass that costs $1,200+ can still offer savings when compared to purchasing individual theme park tickets. For example, a single-day ticket to a Walt Disney World in 2021 will start at $109 and only go up from there. For a family of four wanting to visit Disney World for five days, well, you can do the math.
However, if a family of four knows that they want to visit Disney World at least once a year you can strategically purchase your Annual Passes and plan an April spring break weeklong vacation for 2021, and then a January winter break 2022 trip and get two vacations or more out of a single pass.
Explain Blue Card Dvc Members And The Sorcerer Pass
At this time we arent sure but its likely that only Blue Card DVC members will be able to purchase the Sorcerer Pass. Blue Card DVC members are those who have a blue membership and the only way to get that is by either buying it directly from Disney or buying a membership under the old rules .
Its possible that other members can get the Sorcerer Pass, but well update you when we know for sure.

Can I Upgrade My Regular Ticket To An Annual Pass
When Annual Pass sales kick off again on September 8, youll be able to upgrade an eligible park ticket into an Annual Pass but for the time being, youll only be able to do so in person.
At a later date, Disney will roll out upgrades via their website and in the My Disney Experience App.
When you upgrade a ticket, you receive credit for the full original purchase price, even if youve used part of the ticket.
This means, even if you dont decide until halfway through your trip that you want to upgrade, you can still do that and not lose any of the value of what you already spent on your original ticket.
There are some quirks to be aware of, though:
- Keep in mind that if you upgrade an existing ticket to an Annual Pass, your park reservations will automatically cancel, and youll have to rebook with the Annual Pass. Disney World recommends upgrading on the last day at the park.
- When you upgrade, the start date for your Annual Pass will be the first day you used your original ticket and NOT the day you upgraded.
When Will Disney World Sell Annual Passes Again
When will Walt Disney World Annual Pass sales resume? is one of our most common reader questions. Many WDW fans are itching to buy APs, postponing park visits until passes are available again. Well share the latest official update from Disney and try to answer based on what we know, attendance limits, California comparisons, and more
Walt Disney Worlds policy on Annual Pass purchases is mostly unchanged since reopening. Renewals are allowed, with some caveats for coast-to-coast and water park APs. There are also new pass purchases for ex-Annual Passholders who cancelled during the closure and children who aged into Annual Passes.
Outside of those who qualify for renewal, the Guest Services Welcome Center in Disney Springs is now allowing very limited re-purchases of cancelled or expired Annual Passes on a case by case basis. Still no new Annual Pass sales, though.Obviously, that leaves a lot of potential AP buyers still sitting on the sidelines
Lets start with the latest update on the Annual Pass saga, as of August 2021. While announcing the new Magic Key program for Disneyland, the company teased at the return of Walt Disney World APs.
And for those wondering about Walt Disney World Annual Passes, new pass sales will become available in time for the start of the 50th anniversary celebration! Walt Disney World Resort will be sharing additional information and details later this month, so be sure to stay tuned.

What Is Not Included With A Disney World Annual Pass
A Disney World Annual Pass is an amazing opportunity to enjoy the theme parks 12 months out of the year! Some things that are not included are access to the water parks at Walt Disney World.
If you are interested in admission to the water parks at Walt Disney World you will have the option to add water parks onto your Annual Pass. Also, Disney World PhotoPass services including downloads of your PhotoPass photos were previously included in Disney World Annual Passes. However, Disney is no longer including PhotoPass so you have the option to add PhotoPass services to your Annual Pass for an additional charge.
Additionally, you do not need an Annual Pass to access Disney Springs, the dining and shopping district at Disney World. There is no admission fee to enter Disney Springs.
Disney World Annual Pass Tips
- Check special event pricing – sometimes our prices are better than the discount!
- Always ask about your AP discount. The list of vendors accepting it changes and includes a wide variety of Disney Springs restaurants and retailers too. It doesn’t hurt to ask!
- On that same note, you’ll need to mention your pass to get the discount.
- Bring along your AP card and ID you’ll need them to verify your discount. You can also show your pass via My Disney Experience, but we suggest keeping the physical card in your wallet just in case.
- You can upgrade any Undercover Tourist ticket to an Annual Pass at Guest Relations as long as there are still usable days on the ticket.
- For assistance, call V.I.PASSHOLDER Support at 939-7277.

Water Park & Sports Option
You can add on the Water Park and Sports Option for an additional $99 plus tax for the year.
For the duration of your Annual Pass, this add-on gives the Passholder admission to select Disney World experiences including:
- Disneys Blizzard Beach Water Park
- Disneys Oak Trail Golf course
- FootGolf at Disneys Oak Trail
- Disneys Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course
- Disneys Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course
- Disneys Typhoon Lagoon Water Park
- ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
Merchandise Discount Is Usually 20%
The merchandise discount is much more generous than the dining discount, and it isnt matched by the Chase Disney Visa cards 10% discount. Mostly, if youre looking to buy standard Disney merchandise in the parks, hotels, or Disney Springs, youll get 20% off.
Merchandise obviously includes things like t-shirts, but you might be surprised to see youll get a discount for basically anything sold in the stores, including things like diapers at the baby care centers.
