Parking Benefits Of Staying At A Walt Disney World Resort
Guests staying at Disney Resort hotels receive complimentary Standard Parking at Disney theme parks. So once youve paid to park overnight, you can park at the theme parks for free for the length of your Resort stay.
One of the most important benefits of staying at a Walt Disney Resort is the Disney transportation system. I like leaving my car parked at the Resort hotel and using the complimentary Disney transportation services. It allows me to travel anywhere I want on Disney property. Yes, Im aware that Im paying a premium by staying at a Disney Resort hotel. However, the convenience far outweighs the extra Resort expense.
Paying To Park Reduces Travel Time
First, by paying to park at each of the theme parks, we were able to cut down our total travel time drastically.
If we went to each of the theme parks via Disney Springs we could have easily added 2 hours or more of travel time each day.
It could have been much less, but I figure an hour each way would have been a minimum travel time, especially if you have to switch buses.
We would have been totally reliant on the bus system. It only offers buses at 20-minute intervals. If we missed a bus, we could have to wait a while before the next bus showed up.
Park At Disney Springs And Grab A Bus To Any Resort
You can grab a bus to ANY Disney Resort from the Disney Springs Bus area. But if you want to get to a certain park, certain resorts are just closer than others. Heres the breakdown of which buses to take so that you spend the least time on Disney transportation and more time in the parks. You can also grab a bus to any Disney theme park from Disney Springs, but only after 4 pm.

Rent Dvc Points Or Own Dvc
For now, Disney Vacation Club owners or those renting Disney Vacation Club points do not need to pay resort parking fees, and you will still also qualify for free parking at the theme parks since youre staying on-site.
This is also helpful if you want to stay Deluxe you could save money on the room AND save money on resort parking fees by renting DVC points through a reputable rental agency.
Its a fantastic way to cut down the cost of your Disney vacation and do Disney on a budget, and I would highly recommend you look into it regardless of its impact on parking fees.
Park At Disney Springs And Walk To Saratoga Springs
We love the walking paths at Walt Disney World, and the walking path from Disney Springs to Saratoga Springs is less than a 5-minute walk, along a lovely waterside path. You can see where to grab a bus to any Disney Theme Park on this Saratoga Springs Resort Map. Scroll to the bottom of the map. In the bottom right-hand corner youll see a blue line that says Walkway to Disney Springs. Near that spot, you will grab your bus at the Congress Park Bus Stop. Then you can hop on any bus you choose and head back to Disney Springs when your day is done.

We recommend using Google Maps to navigate Walt Disney World, but you should know that because different areas are accessible to different groupsCast Members, security, regular guests, etc.youll need to also keep an eye on the overhead highway signs to make sure youre going the right way.
Follow the Purple Signs. If you stick to following the overhead purple signs, youll never leave the Disney World campus. This might not always be the fastest route to your destination, though.
You cant drive directly to Magic Kingdom. As discussed more below, guests are not allowed to drive directly to Magic Kingdom, even just to drop someone off. Youll have to utilize the Transportation and Ticket Center.

If Youre Staying At A Disney World Hotel
If youre staying at a Disney World Resort this vacationFirst of all, thats awesome! Have an amazing time. The resorts are super fun and keep you immersed in that Disney setting weve come to love oh-so-much.
Disneys Art of Animation Resort
However, just because youre staying on property doesnt mean youve escaped the parking fees. If youre staying at a value resort, youre going to have to pay $15 per night to park your car at the resort. The same goes for the moderate and deluxe resorts. If youre staying at a moderate resort expect to pay $20 per night, and if youre staying at a deluxe resort, prepare to pay $25 per night.
If you bring a car to Disney World, dont forget about those overnight parking fees!
The only exception to this rule is if youre staying at theFort Wilderness Campsite parking is free! But thats good for only one vehicle and takes up only one parking space. Any more than that and you may have to turn out your pockets, if you know what we mean.
But for the other ResortsYIKES, right? Those parking fees add up QUICKLY. Fortunately, you dont have to pay to park at the Disney Parks on top of that. Resort guests only have to pay to park in the Magic Kingdom, Disneys Animal Kingdom, EPCOT, and Disneys Hollywood Studios parking lots if they want to upgrade to Preferred Parking, which is $20-$25 per day for the upgrade.

We Wanted Access To Our Car
Another reason we paid to park was we wanted our car close by so we could store items in our car and retrieve them throughout the day.
We kept my wifes professional camera in the car when we went on rides. Then, we went out to the car to get her camera afterward so she could take pictures of the highlights of each theme park.
While we could have paid for a locker, we didnt want to lug all of our stuff around on the buses. We didnt want to risk something happening to her camera in a locker that Disney claims no liability over, either.
As you can see, we thought out our decision to pay for four days of Disney World parking pretty seriously. We decided it was money well spent.
Weve added a child to our family, so well likely never consider using the Disney Springs free parking trick. Now that you know how to avoid parking fees at Disney World, its your turn to decide.

Are Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Available At Disney Resorts
At present, Walt Disney World promotes ChargePoint stations at just two Resorts.
- Disneys Coronado Springs Resort has six spaces near Gran Destino Towers bus stop.
- Disneys Wilderness Lodge has two stations near the handicap parking spaces and lobby.
Additionally, some Resorts have wall outlets available for charging. Youll likely need to supply your own cable as these are standard wall outlets not designated ChargePoint stations.
- Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Timon level of the parking garage
- Fort Wilderness Cabins
- Old Key West, villa buildings
- Dolphin Resort, near valet
To use ChargePoint stations, guests need a credit card or a pre-ordered ChargePointcard. The cost is $0.35 per kilowatt hour with a minimum charge of $1.50. ChargePoint stations stop charging when the battery is fully charged, and drivers receive a ping when their car is ready.

Make a point to note your parking location. Tram drivers will repeat the location over the loudspeaker. Write it down, take a photo, or make a note in your phone of the parking location.
Take a look at how far your parking location is from the park entrance. Sometimes its faster to walk to the entrance than take a tram.
Children need to be out of the stroller and the stroller folded before entering a parking tram. Keep this in mind when choosing which stroller to take on your trip.
After parking at Walt Disney World, Guests should go to the front of the cars to assemble strollers, gather family members, etc. Be aware that cars will still be parking in the lot beside and behind your vehicle.

Stop To Shop/dine At A Hotel And Then Make A Quick Visit
Okay so TECHNICALLY you are not supposed to avoid parking fees at the theme parks by parking at a resort.
And that is very much the case if youre hoping to park at a resort and spend the whole day at the parks.
You typically get about three hours of free parking at a resort if you have dining reservations or if youre eating at a quick service on property .
So if you just want a quick stop off at a theme park and youre close enough to either take the monorail, boat, or walk to the park from the resort, I think you could fit in a visit before or after your dining reservation without paying for parking at Disney World.
This only works if you want a short visit and if you have reservations or another reason to be at a resort, but I know that the urge to catch the nighttime entertainment is strong among Disney fans.
Dont forget you can also see the Disney fireworks for free from outside the park.

At Disney Worlds Deluxe Resorts and Villas, Valet Parking is free for disability parking permit holders. Valet Parking is $33.00 per day without a disability parking permit. Free Valet Parking still requires a dining or room reservation at the Resort. Its not required, but you should tip the Valet Parking attendant too.
Valet parking did not return to Walt Disney World Resort hotels when they reopened. However, the service continued to be available for Guests with disabilities who required parking assistance. The Disney Grand Floridian Resort & Spa was the first to offer Valet Parking to all Guests again at the beginning of May.
All Deluxe and Deluxe Villa Resorts are now offering Valet Parking again. I spoke with Guest Services today. The Guest Services Cast Member indicated that Valet Parking would soon be available at all Moderate Resorts. The Coronado Springs Resort is already offering this convenience. I guess its due to being a convention hotel.
