What Are The Disadvantages Of Using The Mid

There is a big and obvious disadvantage of using these half day type tickets. Entering any of the Disney World Parks after 12 p.m. means you are getting in when the crowds have already built up.

You are not going to be able to get on any rides or attractions quickly like you would be able to from rope drop when any of the parks first open. You will have to wait in line and will not see any of the benefits of being in any of the Disney World Parks early.

Also if you plan to enter as soon as you can just after midday then make sure you have eaten as it will be lunch time so restaurants will be at their busiest. You will have to be prepared for the park of your choice to be busy.

Arrive Early For The New Extra Magic Half Hour

One of the easiest ways to make sure you get the most out of your day no matter which Disney park you plan to visit is to arrive early and stay late when possible! This will also allow you to take an afternoon break at your hotel if need be. Disney recently made changes to the extra magic hour program, switching it to an extra magic half hour at every Disney World park for on-site Disney resort guests. Were huge fans of this as we felt morning extra magic hours always created some of the busiest days at Disney World. We feel like crowds will be a little bit more spread out as you wont have everyone heading to the same park on the same morning.

So one of the easiest ways to take advantage of your time in Disney is to arrive early in the morning and get in a half hour before other park guests. This will also take some of the pressure off of making sure you picked the best Disney park for that day! Its important to note that this new early entry can also be a huge help for guests who plan to park hop as you will want to get the most out of your day.

Which Tickets To Buy

The BRILLIANCE of Disney’s consideration of selling partial day tickets

Sometimes people ask which ticket is our favorite for first-time visitors to Walt Disney World, and it really depends upon how long youre visiting. In our Walt Disney World Vacation Planning Guide, we recommend most first-time visitors take a 6-8 trip.

Assuming you are going this route, you probably wont spend every moment in the park. Youll want a rest day in the middle to spend recovering poolside, and maybe a shopping day at Disney Springs. With that said, we recommend buying a ticket that is 1-2 days shorter than the duration of your vacationunless youre visiting for 4 days or fewer, in which case you should purchase a ticket for every day. Always get at least a 4-day ticket. Ideally, get nothing less than a 5-day ticket.

Meaning, if your vacation is 8 days, we recommend the 6-day or 7-day ticket. If you are visiting for 6 days, get the 5-day ticket. In our experience, a 6-day Walt Disney World vacation is about the sweet spot for first-timers. That means either a 4-day or 5-day ticket is going to be a smart bet for most people reading this.

Discount Tickets For Florida Residents:

The policy on upgrading Florida Resident Disney Theme Park tickets varies slightly from other Disney Theme Park tickets. Guests may upgrade to a Florida Resident Seasonal Pass or Florida Resident Weekday Select Pass even if the Disney Theme Park Ticket was used during a block-out period.

WDWs Annual Pass Monthly Payment program is available to those purchasing or renewing a Florida Resident annual pass online or in person at the theme park ticket window or Disney Springs Guest Relations location, except on passes where noted below. Florida Residents make a down payment equal to the price of a non-discounted one-day Disney Theme Park base Walt Disney World ticket and then pay the remainder through 12 recurring automatic monthly payments scheduled for the year. Its interest and finance charge free. The contract purchaser must be able to provide valid proof of Florida Residency and be at least 18 years of age. Passes can be renewed up to 60 days before and 30 days after expiration.

Get A Park Hopper Plus If You Want To Visit A Water Park

If you plan on visiting one of the two Disney World water parks during your visit and are getting park hopper tickets anyway, you will save quite a bit of money by upgrading to the Park Hopper Plus ticket.

A ticket to a water park costs about $60 per person, but it only costs about $22 to upgrade your Park Hopper ticket to include multiple visits to the water parks.

Plus, if you buy a 4-day Park Hopper Plus ticket youll get up to FOUR visits to the incredible Disney Word water parks, so you can check each one out if youd like!

If you are already buying the Park Hopper tickets and have any interest in visiting the water parks, this is a great way to do it for little extra money.

Consider Special Event Tickets For Shorter Trips

Another tip for how to save money on Disney World tickets is to consider special event tickets.

One frustrating aspect of visiting the parks during a shorter trip is that 1-day and 2-day park tickets are so darn expensive per day. Prices dont start to drop much below $100/day until you hit the 4-day and up mark.

Obviously, this is to encourage folks to make longer visits, but thats just not possible for everyone.

If you are planning a short trip anytime from September through December, you may want to consider buying a ticket for one of the special events held at the Magic Kingdom during those months.

On select evenings in September and October, Mickeys Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is held at the Magic Kingdom. It is a hard-ticketed event, which means you need a special ticket to enter the park these tickets start at $79.

Most main attractions are open, plus the party features parades, stage shows, character meet and greets, complimentary food and more.

The official time for the party is from 7 p.m. to midnight, though many folks dont know that you can actually enter the Magic Kingdom any time after 4 pm with your special event ticket.

So you can get a full eight hours in Magic Kingdom during the party with much lower crowds than normal. Plus, with 1-day Magic Kingdom tickets now around $120 each, youll save close to $50 per person by visiting during the party. That would save you about $200 for a family of four!

Can You Add Days To Your Disney World Ticket? WDW Travels

Allears.net has added a new section of pages pertaining to the history of ticket prices at the Walt Disney World Resort at . These pages contain the selling prices of tickets over the years, information as to what each ticket entitled you to, and scans and photos of many of the actual tickets themselves. In conjunction with these new pages, I thought a little general history lesson on Disney World tickets was in order. This is the first of two articles designed to give a brief overview of the history of Walt Disney World admission media.

If there is one thing that I have learned throughout my life, it’s that the more you think you know, the less you really do. I have always had a fascination for Walt Disney World tickets ever since my first visit in 1984. I even picked up a lot of knowledge of them through reading and discussing tickets with other Disney fans. But in the six months of doing the research into this project, I found out just how much I still had to learn. Thirty-four-and-a-half years of often erratic, ever-changing history is a lot to cover.

The 1970s & ’80s

Pop Quiz Trivia Question: There were eight attractions at Walt Disney World in the 1970s that needed the now-infamous “E” ticket. Can you name them? I just told you two of them. Busiest Days At Disney World In 2022

Sometimes I find it easier to back into an answer, and thats why I have decided to cover the 2022 busiest times at Disney first. There are many factors that determine which Disney World theme park is just busier than the others during any given day.

Below is a quick overview of peak periods and the busiest days at Disney World in 2022:

  • Winter Break: Typically the first two weeks in February
  • Spring Break: The first week of March through the third week of April
  • Memorial Day Weekend: The entire week leading up to Memorial Day
  • Summer Vacation: Specifically the third week of June through July
  • Thanksgiving Break: The entire week before and after
  • Christmas Break: The third full week of December until after January 1st

Spend The Day At The Hotel

The half-day discussion cuts two ways, and this strategy applies to each one.

Sometimes, youâll arrive in Orlando in mid- to late-afternoon, leaving you little opportunity to reach your hotel and then swing back to the parks.

On other occasions, youâll have a late flight on the final day of your trip. I recently experienced this scenario, and my plans changed after the fact.

I desperately wanted to Rope Drop at Walt Disney World on our final morning. However, the forecast called for heavy rain.

Our hotel checkout took place at an awkward time in that we couldnât have changed clothes after a park visit.

We didnât want to have wet clothes or â even worse â drenched socks when we went to the airport.

So, we improvised and bought breakfast at the hotel. Then, we sat on our hotel room deck and watched the rain fall on the trees outside our building.

That was legitimately one of the most magical moments Iâve had at Walt Disney World in years.

I pull up the video of it sometimes on my phone when I need some joy.

A Walt Disney World hotel works perfectly as a home base for your entire vacation. It also doubles as a fantastic way to pass a few hours.

You can shop at the various stores, where the lines are noticeably less crowded than at the parks.

You can also either snack or eat a meal or both. The food at Disney resorts rivals the quality of anything in the parks and often seems superior.

How Long Will Disney Require Theme Park Reservations

Disney is currently scheduled to use the reservation system through January 14, 2023. But that date is obviously subject to Moreover, this questionsort of misses the point.

This question assumes that Disney will do something like use the reservation system with a reduced capacity until some set date and then just reopen the parks back to their old capacity. That wont be the case.

Remember when Galaxys Edge opened in California and everyone wanted to know how long theyd use the boarding pass system to control access to the land? The answer then was no one knows. It turned out they used the system for the first day or two the land was opened. Then they never needed to use it again.

The Parks Pass system hasnt gone the same way, but for the most part only annual passholders have had any trouble booking park days. The system is going to have to be used indefinitely, as long as there is a high risk of demand exceeding park capacity, but it usually wont hold you back from booking a trip.

Any time demand doesnt exceed supply, anyone with a ticket should be able to just pull up their phone and grab a reservation. Technically the system is still in use those days, but its not doing any real work.

In the early days of the reopening, the parks have barely been fully booked. The first few days were relatively busy, and Hollywood Studios has seen a few days at its reduced capacity. For the most part, though, guest demand hasnt met Disneys supply.
