Purchasing Tickets At The Ttc

There is a reason that the Walt Disney World Transportation and Ticket Center is named that. Besides transport, you can deal with all your ticketing needs here.

The TTC often has more cast members to help with ticket purchases and any ticket issues than the parks do. This can mean shorter lines so youll get off to the fun quicker. This is a particular advantage for day guests who are coming in from an offsite resort or elsewhere as they can move right to the turnstiles upon arriving at the Magic Kingdom

What If You Are Not A Disney Hotel Guest

If you are not staying at a Disney Resort, can non guests visit Disney resorts? The simple answeryes! I personally have visited many of the resorts at which I was not staying just for the different food options. If there is space to park, you typically can park at the resort you are visiting for a few hours for free. If there is no space, you may need to park elsewhere and use Disney transportation.

While only Blizzard Beach is open at this current time, the great thing about visiting the water parks is that parking is free for guests. One thing to note is that they dont run a parking tram here even during normal operation, but to be honest, the parking lots are a lot smaller for walking across. You can also enjoy playing the Winter Summerland mini golf course here with free parking.

Disney Springs also has no parking fees, which is why its so popular with locals and visitors. Youll find theyve built multiple new parking lots in recent years, which offer you walkways directly into Disney Springs. If you are ever planning to visit ESPN Wide World of Sports for an event, it offers free parking for guests, as there are no buses from the theme parks to this location the majority of the time.

Parking Tips At Walt Disney World

  • Take a photo of your parking lot number or note it down somewhere. Its easy to forget after a day of fun.
  • Remember, it may be faster to walk to a park entrance than take the tram it depends on how far out youre parked.
  • Parking trams do not accept children seated in strollers youll need to take your child out and fold the stroller.
  • Stay aware when youre getting out of your car in a parking lot. Keep kids, especially young ones, within sight. Cars will be parking behind and beside you.
  • You can leave your electric car to be charged while youre away. Youll get a notification when its fully charged.

In conclusion, Disney Preferred Parking may well be worth the extra $20-$25 if youre a family with young kids and are visiting at a busy time of the year. On the other hand, older kids and adults can easily walk or take the tram from the standard parking lot to the theme park entrance. And if youre visiting in a slow season when park attendance is low, you may well be able to get parking close to the entrance by paying the standard parking fee, thus saving on the Disney Preferred Parking fee.

Driving Around Disney World

Disney is an expert at wayfinding signs.

Even people that get lost going to their local grocery store should have no problem navigating Walt Disney World.

Major directional signs are bright purple, which makes them easy to recognize.

As you approach the Walt Disney World Resort, the signs for the resort hotels will start off more general.

And the hotels will all be grouped by areas such as Epcot Resort Area, Magic Kingdom Resort Area, Animal Kingdom Resort Area, etc.

As you get closer to your destination you will begin to see specific signs for your resort.

To make it easier to get where you are going, make sure to know within which area your resort is located. This is especially true if you are planning to visit another resort hotel for a meal, etc.

The signs for the 4 main parks, 2 water parks, and Disney Springs are self-explanatory and plentiful.

You cant miss them!

There are usually multiple ways to get to and from different locations. If you miss a turn or an exit, dont panic just keep following the signs.

Map apps works well on Disney property so be sure to have one ready to use for your trip.

New Overnight Parking Fees For Disney World Hotels

Walt Disney World has announced that it will charge hotel guests for overnight parking. Rates will vary by resort tier, with Vale Resorts charging $13/night, Moderate Resorts will be $19/night, and Deluxe Resorts $24/night. Valet parking at Deluxe/Villa resorts will increase to $33/night. Disney Vacation Club guests staying on points or paying cash at Deluxe Villas will not pay for overnight self-parking.

Note that this does not impact free parking for Annual Passholders at the theme parks, nor does it impact those visiting a resort hotel for dinner or shopping. Guests staying at campsites in Fort Wilderness will not pay for overnight parking. Its presently unclear whether drivers with valid disability parking permits will be charged .

The new Walt Disney World parking charge applies to guests who book reservations on or after March 21, 2018. The one positive in this news is that if you book a reservation today or in the next weekeven for a trip in Decemberyou wont be subject to the new parking cost. So thats at least one way to postpone the sting of this new fee for a little while longer.

Walt Disney World has indicated that this change is to bring their Florida hotels more in line with industry standards. Disney Springs Resort Area Hotels, the Swan & Dolphin, Universal Orlando on-property hotels, and most Orange County Convention Center area-hotels charge for overnight parking.

Is Preferred Parking Worth It At Disney World

Disney World Parking Fees for Hotel Guests

In our opinion, preferred parking is definitely not worth it at Disney World parks. Youre usually saving yourself around five minutes of walking with preferred parking. The $20-$25 premium is not at all worth it.

If youre a hardcore rope drop fan you might wonder if preferred parking is worth it to get you to be first in line, and here the answer is still no. If youre one of the first cars in the lot, the time from car to queue for your first ride has plenty of opportunity for you to catch up to the very few guests paying for preferred parking at this hour.

Preferred parking makes the most sense at the peak of the day, from about noon to 3PM, when youll be filling the farthest spots. Sometime after 3PM , theyll actually start letting guests fill any available spaces, which leaves little reason to pay for preferred parking.

Disability Parking Permits/license Plates Are Valid At Walt Disney World

Disability parking permits from any US state are valid at Walt Disney World. Also accepted are those from the UK, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and any EU country. You must have a valid disability parking permit to park in disabled spaces at Disney World. This permit can be a hanging disability placard, license plate, or any identification denoting your disabled parking authorization.

If you do not have a valid disabled parking permit, you can request to park at the end of a lot. Disney parking lot personnel will attempt to accommodate your request. Ive heard these areas referred to as the Medical Parking section and are nearer to the entrances.

The standard parking lots at Magic Kingdom are located approximately 1 mile from the ticketing and transportation center. You can either walk or take a tram. Lets start off by talking about parking at the resort hotels. Yes, its a thing, and before a few months ago, it was a free thing. Imagine that. You could park your car at your resort for free unless you use valet parking.

Now Disney has implemented a fee to park your cars at the resort . Depending on which level of resort hotel you are staying at determines how much you pay. The list below is the breakdown at the time of this post.

  • Moderate Resorts $20/night
  • Deluxe Resorts $25/night

To be honest with you, I feel like this is a money grab from Disney. Since 1971 you could park your car at your resort for free, and now after all these years, they think you should pay or it? Some people say that it may be a way to keep the car traffic down once Star Wars: Galaxys Edge opens up. Im not sure. In my gut, I just feel like its a money grab.
