Ohana Restaurant Walt Disney World

Ohana Breakfast And Dinner Update At Disney World

Ohana Restaurant – Walt Disney World

Ohana Character Breakfast at Walt Disney World is a family style character dining experience located at Disneys Polynesian Village Resort. It has a Hawaiian theme and focuses around the Lilo & Stich movie. This Ohana breakfast has great food and character interactions that the entire family will love.

Update: Ohana Character Breakfast has been closed due to covid but announced yesterday that it would be reopening beginning July 9, 2021. Guests can start making reservations June 10, 2021.

More dining options opening is exciting news, but dont expect it to be what it was in the past. There are a few changes coming to the newly opened dining option at Walt Disney World.

Ohana will offer all you can eat breakfast options and dinner options but will not have characters. There will be live entertainment with musicians strolling through the restaurant. Both options will be served family style for an all-you-can-eat dining experience.

How To Get To Ohana Character Breakfast

If you are staying at the Polynesian Village Resort you can easily get to Ohana because it is located upstairs of the lobby. If you are staying off-site and do not have a car you need to look at the best transportation options such as Uber or Lyft.

We were staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. The best way to get to breakfast was to take the bus to the Magic Kingdom. From there you take the monorail or the walking path to the Polynesian Resort. The monorail is an attraction in itself so we were excited to have a chance to ride. It took us about 35 minutes travel time.

Order Room Service If Youre Staying At The Polynesian Village Resort

Believe it or not, you can actually get a modified room service version for two of an Ohana dinner meal delivered straight to your room called the Twilight Feast.

Sure its not a buffet style and its pretty pricey, but you literally get everything Ohana has to offer.

Like they even will give you a serving of bread pudding and a pint of vanilla ice cream.

Characters At Ohana Breakfast

Ohana character breakfast is a character dining experience and that means characters will walk around the dining area and come to your table. The characters include Lilo, Stitch, Pluto, & Mickey. You do not need to walk around to find the characters they come to you! They will sign autographs and pose for pictures.

The best thing about character dining in my opinion is that you get a meal and meet & greet all in one. You dont have to worry about waiting in line at the park to meet characters. It saves you time at the parks and gives your kids a lot of time with their favorite characters.

During the meal they also do a musical parade through the dining room. Everyone grabs a maraca and dances around with Lilo, Stitch, Mickey, & Pluto. The dining room is big so an adult should go with small children for this parade.

Stitch is really silly and fun to meet. He is mischievous and causes troublejust like the real Stitch. You never know what he is going to do and we had a lot of fun with him.

Where Else Can I Get Ohana Bread Pudding

Ohana – Breakfast at Walt Disney World’s Ohana Restaurant

If you want to dig into this bread pudding but cant, or dont want to, have a full-blown dinner at Ohana for whatever reason, you have a few options.

The easiest is to go to the Tambu Lounge connected with Ohana and order a single serving of bread pudding to enjoy right in the lounge.

Also, I have heard many times that if you are eating at Kona Cafe , you can order the Ohana Bread Pudding there, even though its not listed on the menu.

And if youre lucky enough to be staying at the Polynesian Village Resort, you can order the bread pudding at any time via room service.

If youre craving Ohana Bread Pudding but are nowhere near Disney at the moment, you could try this recipe:

Ohana Restaurant: How To Get In

Reservations for Ohana restaurant can be hard to come by, since it is such a popular restaurant on Disney Property. If you arent able to snag a reservation when you initially try to book one, never fear. There are some ways to get hard to find Disney Dining reservations even if they seemed all booked up!

At breakfast time, Ohana hosts a character meal, featuring Lilo, Stitch and other Disney Characters. Our family prefers dinner at the restaurant, so this review is exclusively covering dinner.

If youre lucky enough to score a table at Ohana restaurant, be sure to arrive a few minutes before your reservation time to allow for check in. The check in desk is located on the second floor of the Great Ceremonial House, the main building of the Polynesian Resort.

Upon check in, youll be given a pager and asked to wait in the adjoining sitting area. Its a really comfortable place to wait for your table, but Ive found that I rarely have to wait more than a couple of minutes to be called back to be seated. Heres what that area looks like:

Romantic Restaurants In Disney World

You have an amazing view of the Seven Seas Lagoon and the Magic Kingdom castle. We have eaten at Ohana in the evening too! If you time it right and get a decent table you can watch the fireworks whilst eating your dinner. They cant guarantee you will get a good view but the atmosphere is lovely in an evening with live music and interactive games for the kids. There are NO character interactions in the evening though.

Where Is Ohana Located

Ohana is at Disneys Polynesian Village Resort, one of Disneys Deluxe Resorts, which is located on the Magic Kingdom monorail loop. It has a South Pacific theme and opened in October 1971 as one of the first two Disney hotels.

The Polynesian is not cheap. In fact, depending on what month you stay and what type of room you have, it can cost up to $1,200 per night.

So thats one of the nice things about eating at Ohana . You get to visit and enjoy the resort even if youre staying at a cheap-o hotel.

Does Ohana Have A Dress Code

However, if you want to have some fun, you might want to wear something Hawaiian-themed.

  • Noodles tossed in a Teriyaki Sauce with stir-fried vegetables

Now at this point you honestly could say that you had a full, delicious meal but guess what? That was just the warm-up.

Now its time for the main course, which is skewers of Szechuan Sirloin Steak, Sweet-n-Sour Chicken, and Spicy Grilled Peel-n-Eat Shrimp, grilled over an oak fire in the middle of your restaurant and brought to your table one at a time. Peanut sauce and sweet and sour sauce is provided for dipping.

Its a lot of food. Consider yourself warned.

La Cantina De San Angel

Dont want to pay a hefty fee for Mexican food? Consider Cantina de San Angel the Quick Service option attached to La Hacienda de San Angel.

Cantina de San Angel has a tasty variety of traditional Mexican options . Plus, it offers up another great view of the World Showcase Lagoon.

La Hacienda de San Angel might still be the best option for you if you want a guaranteed seat and a fireworks view with air-conditioning.

However, if you dont mind an outdoor seat around the lakefront and want to pay less for your Mexican-inspired dinner, give La Cantina de San Angel a try!

Disney World Dining: Character Breakfast At Ohana Review

‘Ohana Dinner Review – Disney World’s Best Restaurant?

This was the first time that Ive had a character breakfast at Ohana. The restaurant is tucked inside of the Polynesian Village Resort, on the second floor of the hotel. The view from the restaurant is awesome, and you can see clear to the Magic Kingdom castle! My kids thought that was pretty awesome!

The vibe inside of the Polynesian is a throwback Hawaii circa the 1970s . Its a fun, laid-back atmosphere with lots to look at!

When you arrive to the Ohana restaurant you are greeted by a friendly cousin . Afterall, Ohana means family and they definitely treat you as such! The food at Ohana is brought out to your table in a skillet, and is served family-style. Its also unlimited

What I like about this style of Disney Dining food service is:

-You dont have to get up from the table wait on a long buffet line to get your food

-The food comes out super quickly

-Did I mention its unlimited? Or rather, All You Care to Enjoy

On the topic of Mickey Waffles, my kids thought these were the best thing since sliced bread. I mean, MICKEY + Waffle = YUM!

I would also like to point out that when youre three and a half years old, the struggle is SO real when youre at a character breakfast. After consuming Mickey Waffles and some fruit, this is the position my kid remained in until one of the characters came to our table

Then, the excitement was so amazing to watch!! The boys loved meeting all of the characters.

So, as Mickey Mouse says: See ya real soon!

How Long Is Dinner At Ohana

In a sense we were lucky, because the only reservation we could get was at 8:00pm, which made getting back to the park a non-issue.

I would personally recommend not trying to squeeze in a FastPass after Ohana.

First of all, a big part of Ohana is the experience, so you want to enjoy it and not get stressed out checking your watch every few minutes and worrying if youre going to be late.

Second, things like that always take longer than you think they will .

Paying the bill will take longer than it should have. The monorail will run late.It will take you longer to get back to the park than you estimated.Someone will need to go to the bathroom.

It makes me feel stressed out just thinking about it!

A third point thats worth mentioning is that after eating at Ohana, youll probably be so full that you can barely move, let alone want to go sprinting through Tomorrowland to go ride Space Mountain.

But to answer the question I would say to allow 75-90 minutes for the actual meal, plus an additional 15-20 minutes to get seated.

How To Get An Ohana Reservation

Last updated on by Adam Bryan. This post may contain affiliate links.

Ohana is the best restaurant in Disney World for dinner hands down.

From the unlimited chicken, steak, and shrimp all the way to the potstickers noodles and the oh so famous bread pudding, there are zero misses on the Ohana menu.

However, in order to enjoy this incredible experience, you have to first get an elusive reservation.

But thankfully, there are a couple ways to get a reservation with just a little work and perseverance heres how:

Adjust Your Party Size On The App To See If Any Reservation Times Pop Up

One of my favorite ways is to simply just adjust the party size on the app when searching for a reservation.

So if you are looking for a time for 2, start searching for reservations for a party of 3, 4, etc.

And if you happen to snag a time slot, when checking in at Ohana, just tell the hostess that your party size changed.

Just note that this usually only works when you have a reservation for more than how many people that you have, not less. Because lets be real, the last thing you want to do is make a reservation for 2 but have to change it to 5 at the hostess desk.
