Do Buy Tickets Up Front
It paysliterallyto plan ahead. Every extra day you spend inside a Disney park cuts dollars off park admission as a whole. Current regular admission rates start at $109 per person for a single-park day pass, but stay three days and that price per day drops to $105. Stay four days and it drops to $101. Stay five days and it drops to $83.you get the picture. Also, if you already know youre headed to Disney in the coming year, dont wait to buy. The parks rack up their entrance fees every year, so if you plan ahead, you can invest before those increases take effect.

Ways To Save For Your Disney Vacation
On this page weve compiled some of the most useful ideas for forcing yourself to save on a regular basis.
Vacation Savings Account
One of the best and smartest ways to save for a Disney vacation is to open a separate savings account specifically for your vacation fund. If at all possible, jump-start the account with a lump sum, such as a tax refund. Have a certain amount auto-debited from your paychecks and deposited directly into that savings account. That way you never see the money, so there is less temptation to spend it. And of course youll be earning interest!
By the way, it is very worthwhile to shop around for the best banking deal. Look for FDIC insured online savings or checking accounts. Some of the online accounts are very easy to set up and use, allowing you to transfer funds from your local bank to savings easily.
- Weve used Ally, Capital One 360 , Emigrant Direct and Dollar Savings Direct and found them easy to set up and use.
- Axos and Zions Bank are a pain to set up and use , so we dont recommend them unless you have a lot of time on your hands.
Other Ways to Save Money in Small Increments
Here are some additional, relatively painless tricks people use to get themselves to save. Its all about setting priorities and in some cases, tricking yourself into saving. What works for one person, wont work for another. Try one, or try em all. Remember, every penny helps!

Planning A Trip To Disney World On A Budget: Top Tips + Costs
This page contains affiliate links. Please read our disclosure for more info.
Yes, planning a trip to Disney World on a budget is possible! Its never going to be the cheapest trip, but there are many ways you can save money on accommodation, transport, and food.
Weve been to Disney World in Orlando, Florida three times as adults. The first two visits we were on a tight budget and stayed in off-site motels and packed sandwiches.
On our last trip we had more to spend and stayed in Disney Worlds cheapest resort hotel and ate in the parks at a mix of fast food and table service restaurants.
They have all been wonderful experiences, and below I compare the costs of staying on-site vs off-site, explain step by step how to plan a Disney vacation on a budget, and give tips on how to save money on every aspect of your stay.
Take Advantage Of Club Access If You Have It
Chances are if youre paying for Club Level access at Disney World, youre not on too tight a budget. But we like to be thrifty when we can, so when were staying Club Level we are sure to take advantage of all thats includedmultiple servings of food throughout the day, complimentary coffee and soda, andthe biggest budget savercomplimentary alcohol.

Price Out An Annual Pass
Along the lines of buying discounted Disney park tickets, getting an Annual Pass might not seem like a good idea at first. Especially when you take a gander at the price. Annual Passes are expensive! However, there are some circumstances where it might be more cost effective.
More than One Trip in a Year
If you plan to go to Disney twice in one year, definitely do the math. The cost of two separate multi-day tickets is not cheap. In general, if you plan to spend around 10-11 days in the parks within a 366 day time frame, it might be cheaper.
Of course, this will depend on a lot of factors, such as the cost of the pass you want and the time of year you are going. Certain times of year cost A LOT more than others. So always double check.
I recently bought Annual Passes for myself and the kids because we are taking two trips this coming year . After pricing out the tickets for two separate trips, it just made sense. Part of why it made sense was for the additional savings you get
Taking Advantage of Annual Pass Discounts
An Annual Pass for the Disney parks comes with several discounts which might help tip the scales of savings. For example, you can get a 10% discount as most of the Table Service restaurants. You also get a 20% discount on merchandise. Also, very importantly, the resort room discounts are always higher for Annual Passholders than the normal discounts.
Annual Passholders also get the Memory Maker photo package for FREE!
Consider Buying Just ONE Annual Pass
Make Wise Restaurant Choices
There is a large selection of dining options at either resort and prices range from budget to premium. For example, a New York Strip at the upscale Steakhouse 55 in the Disneyland Hotel costs $58 . But at the casual Bengal Barbeque eatery inside Disneyland, you can enjoy a delicious Bengal Beef Skewer for $5.49.
The key is to research the various food outlets available at the park you will be visiting, basing it on your budget and family’s eating habits. If you don’t care about sit-down meals and can run on hot dogs and churros from a street cart, you can cut down on food expenses.
Note that some restaurants, such as the aforementioned Steakhouse 55, are still temporarily closed.
Insider tip: You are allowed to bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages inside the park, with a few exceptions. In addition to saving money, this is great for those with dietary needs or picky eaters. You can also save time not having to queue up to order food. However, this option isn’t always feasible, especially when you’re traveling and staying in hotels, or you just don’t want to haul extra items. Even if you don’t plan to bring in full meals, it is smart to carry snacks such as granola bars, fruits, or nuts.

Go When There Are Fewer Crowds
The cheapest time to go to Disney World is usually when its least crowded. The most crowded weeks of the year typically have the highest hotel rates and highest ticket prices. As an added bonus, there are also shorter lines and less competition for hotel and dining reservations during these times.
So when is the cheapest week to visit Disney?
The first week of January through Presidents Day weekend is typically the least expensive time of the year. On the downside, the weather at Disney World is cool during this stretch. Some weeks in the spring are also good choices.
The summers tend to be crowded. However, as kids head back to school, late August through early September and non-holiday weekdays October through December are much less crowded.
Since prices depend on the day and not the week, per se, please note that mid-week prices are less than weekend prices on average.
The most expensive times to go to Disney World are during school vacation weeks, weekends, holidays, and the summertime.
Some notable expensive times to visit are February Vacation, Spring Break, April Vacation, Memorial Day, July 4th Week, Thanksgiving Week, and the Christmas Holiday through New Years.
See our Disney Crowd Calendar for more on the crowds.
