How Much Money Is Disney World

Cost To Go To Disney World

How to Save Money on a Disney World Trip in 2021

So how much does it cost to go to Disney World? I recommend a family of four budget $4,609 USD for a 4-day trip, but obviously, there are plenty of ways to reduce your costs without sacrificing the experience. You also obviously wont go all the way to Orlando just for four days, so your trip costs will be spread out.

For those who went to Disney as a child, thank your parents as it probably cost them a small fortune. For reference, here are guides on Universal Studios Orlando, Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland.

Not Quite As Vulnerable As It May Seem

The one real red flag on the pie chart is the size of its parks and hotels business. While the $7.4 billion in revenue they generated a quarter ago only accounts for about one-third of its total business, that whole third is now in jeopardy with some calls for the entire hotel industry to shutter operations until COVID-19 is contained.

That liability may not be quite as extreme as it seems on the graphic, however. Investors who have followed Walt Disney long enough may recall the company’s quarterly revenue breakdown didn’t previously look like this. Prior to fiscal 2019, product revenue was reported as part of a division called consumer products and interactive media, which included licensed toys and video games. It was never a huge segment, making up less than 10% of the top line. But it’s one part of the parks and products division that should emerge relatively unscathed from the coronavirus that’s keeping kids at home .

Additional Costs $169 Million

Of course, theres bound to be other costs associated with keeping the theme park running.

One huge expense is landscaping. Keeping all those flowers bright and the grass perfectly green costs a pretty penny!

The Finance section of Yahoo! writes, Based on the number of acres and Disneys location, it costs about $1.69 million to maintain Disneys landscaping, according to Homewyses Lawn Maintenance Calculator.

Bring Your Own Stroller Or Rent A Stroller

Renting a stroller from Disney World in the parks will cost $15 per day for a single stroller and $31 per day for a double . These are brown, hard-plastic strollers that get you from Point A to B but dont offer much in the way of comfort or storage. Your cheapest option is to bring your stroller with you from home. Even ultra low-cost airlines like Spirit and Frontier allow your little one to fly with a stroller for free, so just gate-check yours and have it for the whole trip at zero extra cost.

However, a middle-of-the-road option if you dont want to travel with quite as much gear is to rent a stroller from one of the many off-site stroller companies in Orlando. These are top-notch strollers that can recline to allow your kids to take a nap in the park and have plenty of storage underneath. Rain covers and coolers can sometimes be included for free. Five-to-seven-day rentals will generally cost less than $10 per day, and you have use of the stroller not only within the parks but for the entirety of your stay in Orlando. The strollers are cleaned between each use and will be delivered and picked up right at your resort.

Two of our favorite companies to use are Kingdom Strollers and Magic Strollers.

Eating is one of the most satisfying aspects of a Disney World vacation. But now that the Disney Dining Plan is suspended until further notice, you may be wondering how much food costs at Disney World since youll be paying out-of-pocket.

The total cost of food at Disney World ends up being $200 $250 per day for a family of four. With that said, our estimate varies depending on how much you eat, what you eat and drink, and where you dining.

There are so many Quick Service, Table Service, and other dining options in the parks and resorts. With such a wide variety of price ranges, you can easily spend less or a lot more than $200 $250 per day.

Lets explore the difference between Quick Service and Table Service restaurants, and what you can expect to pay for meals, drinks, and snacks at Walt Disney World when all the costs are added up.

How Much Spending Money Do You Give Your Kids

Some parents prefer to give their kids a set dollar amount per day, like $10-$20. That means they can purchase one small item each day at their own discretion.

Others prefer to give their kids a much larger, bulk amount, around $100 per trip.

Growing up, I was the latter. I was given $200 for a 14-day vacation to Florida and that had to last me the whole 14 days, Disney World and Daytona Beach. My parents bought up shirts and stuffies and whatnot, but I really wanted a Disney bathing suit that was totally overpriced and they refused. Obviously. So I bought it. I didnt have much left after that but I loved that bathing suit until next summer when it didnt fit anymore. Because growth spurts are a real thing too.

How much money and how often you refill their wallets depends on how many items vs the quality of items, you want them to purchase, as well as their maturity level. Can they handle $100 in 1 week or is it best to ration it out for them, until they have a better sense of money management?

Take a look at the various Parks you will be visiting with the kids, the attractions they will want to visit, and see if you can find anything online about their souvenir shops and see what might peak their interest. There are also larger items to be bought, like Lightsabers and Droids that will take a large chunk out of anyones budget.

    Water Park & Sports Option

How much money do you need for Disney World?

This option adds special visits to water parks and smaller attractions to your park tickets. Each visit can be one of the following:

    • admission to Blizzard Beach water park
    • admission to Typhoon Lagoon water park
    • admission to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex
    • round of mini golf at Fantasia Gardens
    • round of mini golf at Winter Summerland
    • round of golf at Oak Trail family walking course

The extra cost on top of a Base Ticket is a flat $74.55, for any length of ticket.

The number of visits you get with the Water Park & Sports option is equal to the number of park days on the ticket. A 1-Day ticket has both 1-day of major park admission and 1 visit, a 3-Day ticket has both 3 days of major park admission and 3 visits, and so forth. This is an incentive to buy the longer passes, so that youll get more visits for your money.

When you add the Water Parks & Sports option to a Base ticket, it extends the validity length of the ticket by one day. That doesnt add any park admission days, but does give you one extra day to use all your park days and special water park & sports visits. For example, a 7-day ticket normally is valid for a 10-day span, but adding Water Parks & Sports makes it valid for an 11-day span.

The chart below has the prices for all tickets with Water Park & Sports. You can also compare all of the ticket options on our full chart of all regular Walt Disney World ticket prices.
