Buying Tickets From Disney
The first way to buy park tickets is to get them directly from Disney. There is no difference in price between parks, and tickets to all 4 theme parks cost the same .
Disneys price system is based on the dates you choose for your theme park admission. If you go during the off-season the tickets will cost less. If you go during the busy season, they will cost more.
- Single-Day Adult park tickets in 2022 range from $109 to $159 each .
- Single-Day Child park tickets in 2022 range from $104 to $154 each .
That means on average you can expect to pay about $135 per adult and $130 per child for one-day tickets.
Multi-Day Disney World park passes on the other hand reward you the more days you go and the longer your pass, the less you pay per day. This is always the best value.
A One-Day Ticket starts at $109 per day, however, a 5-Day ticket starts at $90 per day, and a 10-Day ticket starts at only $54 per day. You can see the advantage of going for multiple days during your trip.
Here are the 2022 prices for Multi-Day Park Tickets:
- 2-Day Ticket Cost: $107 $155 per day
- 3-Day Ticket Cost: $106 $149 per day
- 4-Day Ticket Cost: $105 $141 per day
- 5-Day Ticket Cost: $90 $121 per day
- 6-Day Ticket Cost: $77 $104 per day
- 7-Day Ticket Cost: $68 $92 per day
- 8-Day Ticket Cost: $62 $83 per day
- 9-Day Ticket Cost: $57 $75 per day
- 10-Day Ticket Cost: $54 $69 per day
Eat Breakfast In Your Room
This is an absolute must for us. Its just an easy way to cut down on some of the food costs. We typically go to a character breakfast or eat a pre-park opening breakfast at Be Our Guest once during a trip. But the rest of the time its breakfast in the room.
The type of room you stay in will impact that type of breakfast you can manage. If you are staying in a Deluxe villa you have access to a microwave or stove which ups the options considerably. However, below you will find some breakfast ideas that work in most other rooms.
Ideas for Breakfast in Your Room
- PopTarts if that can be considered breakfast
- Peanut butter and jelly because why not?
And yes, I will pack some of this stuff in my suitcase to bring from home. The bonus is that once you eat it all youve freed up space in your suitcase for souvenirs!
P.S. Just make sure you also pack spoons or other items you might need to eat and prepare the food.
Get The Disney Dining Plan If You Eat A Lot
If you tend to eat at least 2 meals a day, then the Disney Dining Plan by far is the best option as long as you maximize the DDP correctly.
You see, the basic, non-quick service DDP gives you an allotment of 3 credits all of which total to around $60 a day.
However, if you plan it out correctly, you can practically eat more food that what youre paying.

Best Character Meal In The Magic Kingdom: Cinderellas Royal Table
Any conversation about Disney character dining has to include Cinderellas Royal Table, served in the iconic Cinderella Castle, the center of the Magic Kingdom. But it has drawbacks its pricey, and, currently, only Cinderella makes surprise appearances while you dine to wave from a safe distance.
During normal times, breakfast here is almost $70 per adult. Dinner is a bit of a better overall value at roughly $90 all-in, with much better food selections, including braised pork shank, pan-seared chicken, a charcuterie plate and amaretto cheesecake.
Right now, lunch and dinner are being served with price points a bit lower than normal due to the absence of the regular line-up of princesses. Breakfast is currently $42 for adults and $27 for kids.
Despite the price, youll quickly see the value inside the castle if this is on your bucket list.
Normally, you meet Cinderella herself for a photo opportunity as soon as you enter. Upstairs, youll get a seat in her castle dining room, along with a magic wand or a sword for your little ones. While you sit and eat, a host of Cinderellas friends, including Jasmine, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and Rapunzel, stop by for table visits.
The actors own their roles and are warm, personable and engaging. Your little princesses will leave with lasting memories. If you can get seats near the windows, you can use the natural light to get better photos with the princesses and enjoy a great view of Fantasyland during your meal.

- D-Luxe Burger: El Diablo Burger, $12.49

Aside from the fact that each days total came in under $35 there is one major thing I want you to notice: you arent stuck eating burgers and fries everyday. This is one of the wonderful things about dining at Disney World. There is a tremendous amount of variety in your food choices.
Lets pretend that this menu represents a 5 day trip. This person spent $150.59 on all their food. For 5 fulls days at Disney World that is phenomenal. See, it really is possible to save money on food at Disney!

As I mentioned before, just because you are on a budget doesnt mean you dont want to experience some sit down meals as well. There are some Table Service Restaurants which offer cheaper meal options than others.
Character meals will ALWAYS be more expensive than non-character meals, so keep that in mind. But here are some of the cheapest places to eat at Disney World if you want a sit down meal.

My Disney World Food Budget And The Disney Dining Credit Offer
As part of our Disney World Vacation package, we have $850 dining credit included which we can use for food and drink. We also have a $200 gift card included which we can also use towards food and drink. This totals $1050 so we will still have budget $2,169.30 to make up the difference of what I have calculated for our budget of $3,219.30.
Clearly the Disney Dining Credit offer helps but it only covers 32.6% of my food and drink budget for our 2022 Disney World vacation.
This is why I have always been an advocate for the Disney Dining Plan when it has been offered in the past for free as part of a Disney World vacation package. Hopefully, the free Dining Plan offers will make a comeback in 2022.
Budgeting For Food At Disney
For lots of people , the food at Walt Disney World is part of the experience.
With so many options in the parks and resorts it can be downright difficult to narrow down your choices.
And now with the Disney Dining Plan going on hiatus for the near future, budgeting for food just got a little trickier, too.
But, after years and years worth of nearly monthly trips weve come up with a few things that can help.
In this article

The Food At Disney World
Theres high culture and theres low culture and then theres Disney World. I grew up going there and going there and going there seriously, we went there a lot . When I dream, I dream about theme parks and the theme parks I dream about most often are Disney theme parks. So when Craigs movie got into the Florida Film Festival in Orlando and he was hooked up with a hotel room and a car and all I would have to do is pay for a plane ticket there and back, it was hard to resist a trip to Disney World. Itd been almost ten years since Id been there last and I was immensely curious to see if Id still think if it was fun or if Id outgrown it. More importantly, I wanted to write about the fooda strange idea, but a compelling one, perhaps. Whats there to say about the food at Disney World? Actually, theres plenty.
Think about it: Disney World caters to millions of Americans every year and those millions of Americans, at some point during their days of waiting on lines for Space Mountain and Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain, get hungry. What kind of food will they find when the hunger sets in? Is the food they find today at Disney the same food theyd find 20 years go? And what does this food say about us as a country, as a people? Are we heading in a better direction?
Craigs burger on the hand was pretty cafeteria-esque. It came squished on the bun with nothing on it you had to go to a toppings bar to top it yourself. Still, he was reasonably satisfied.
Option : A More Precise Way To Budget For Food
If youre looking for an even more precise dollar amount, we can help with that, too.
First of all, you can always go to the official pages for each of the restaurants and review the menus. Most will have prices there so youll be able to see exactly what things cost.
Do a mock order for yourself and family and youll get really close to what the final dollar amount will be.
If that sounds too tedious, there is another way.
For years we have compiled data to help people using the Disney Dining Plan figure out the best values for their credits.
But with the DDP on hiatus, the best values arent going to help very much.
But what will help are the average prices for meals at each restaurant. And weve got that data, too.

Where We Got Our Numbers
While not an exact science, by using the prices of the Disney Dining Plan we can get a decent idea as to what Disney thinks are the average prices for mealsand snacks.
Here are some things we can make some guesstimations on. Again these are just averages!
- Snacks average around $5-$6 each
- Quick Service meals average about $19 and about $11.00 per child
- Table Service meals average about $42 and about $25.00 per child
To get your total for your food budget, add up the total number of Quick Service meals and then add up the total number of Table Service meals and multiply those by the dollar amounts listed.
Dont forget to add tip money, too.
Remember youll need to do this for each person for each day of your trip.
Want to make it even easier? You can use this handy chart below.
Getting To And From The Airport
Disney has announced that their complimentary Magical Express transportation service will be discontinued in January of 2022.
Orlando International Airport is serviced by ride-hailing services including Lyft, Uber, and airport taxis.
Other transportation options include hotel shuttles and car rental services, with Alamo being our most recommended.
And next, as a replacement for Disneys Magical Express, Mears Connect will be offering shuttle service to the Disney Resort area beginning on January 1st of 2022.
Unlike Disneys Magical Express, Mears Connect isnt free, however.
Instead, there are two tiers of service: standard vs. express.
Standard service is a shared ride that makes a few stops en route to your hotel with waits of up to 20 minutes after checking in at the Mears reception area at the airport.
Express service provides a direct ride to your resort with no other stops and limited to no wait time.
You can find a list of current resorts that Mears Connect will pick up and drop off from, as well as pricing and the option to book your rides at Mears Connects site.
Additional planning tip: The resorts that Mears Connect services will appear in the drop-down menu when reserving. The list is expected to expand throughout 2022.

How To Eat Cheap At Disney World $35 A Day
During one of the trips I took with my sister I made it my mission to keep to a pretty strict Disney food budget. I planned it all out ahead of time, even factoring in the assumption I would over eat at Epcots International Flower and Garden Festival. Because I cant resist an Epcot festival
I was there for 3 nights so the trip was on the shorter side. However, what I learned during that trip can certainly be expanded to a week long trip.
Im going to show you an example of how you can do this at each of the parks. Keep in mind, Disney can increase their prices at any time which might change the numbers. But the examples themselves should consistently show how eating cheap at Disney World is not only possible but easy.
There are a few things to point out about these examples:
- This is based on adult meals kids would be cheaper
- Water is free at each Quick Service location
- Breakfast is always eaten in the Resort room
- Each example is for one person
- I didnt include tax. Because thats way too much math
- If you use some of the other tips mentioned above you can get the overall cost down even more
How Does The Disney Dining Plan Work
Prior to ordering, tell your server that you are on a dining plan.
Your server will first scan your MagicBand and then ask you to enter your personalized pin number for your account. Once your account has been verified, your meal is then charged to your Disney Dining Plan.
Its really a convenient and hassle-free payment system!
Note that gratuity and any menu items you order that are not covered by your Disney Dining Plan will be charged to the credit card on your account.
You can track your meal usage by checking the bottom portion of your receipt or by asking your hotel concierge for a printout of your balance.
