How Much Does Maxpass At Disneyland Cost
MaxPass at Disneyland costs $20 per person per day.
If you want to upgrade to Disney MaxPass, which allows you to reserve FASTPASS from the free Disneyland app and with slightly better restrictions than the paper-ticket system, youll need to pay $20 per ticket per day. MaxPass covers both parks, but youll still need park hopper to visit both parks.
We have a guide to FASTPASS and MaxPass if you need to know more. In our Disneyland planning guidewe highly recommend paying for the MaxPass upgrade. Among other things, it saves you the trouble of going back and forth between FASTPASS distribution kiosks. Youll also be able to grab reserved space for Fantasmic and World of Color from your phone.
For the most part, MaxPass wont impact the return time on your FASTPASS. If everyone else is grabbing return times for the end of the day, yours is also going to be for the end of the day.
Disney World Cost Calculator: Buying Tickets
Park tickets will account for a large portion of your Disney World cost calculations.
Disney World considers children to be between the ages of 3 9 years old. Any person age 10 and older needs to pay adult ticket prices, and those 2 and under are free.
Disney World ticket prices also vary based on the season, how many days youll visit the parks , and if you plan to travel between parks on a given day .
They can be purchased directly through Disney and can often be found bundled in Disney World packages that include resort accommodations.
Disney park tickets can also be purchased at discounted rates from authorized wholesalers, such as our favorite, Undercover Tourist.
Additional planning tip: Dont forget to account for Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon water park tickets if you plan to venture to one or both of Disneys two water parks.
When Disney Tickets Expire
Along with the introduction of date-based pricing, Disney shortened the amount of time you have to use your tickets. Previously, all tickets expired at midnight 14 days after first use. Now, a ticket’s use period begins on the “start date” chosen at the time of purchase, and the time until expiration varies based on how many days youre visiting the theme parks and water parks, as shown below:
|14 Days||15 Days|
For example, if you purchase a 4-Day 1 Park Per Day theme park ticket and specifyyoull start using it on June 15, 2022, you must complete your four days of theme parkvisits by the end of June 21, 2022. After that, the ticket is expired, even if you dont use it.

Hold More Park Reservations
Depending on the pass type, Passholders may now hold up to five Disney Park Pass reservations at a time. Bonus reservations will be added to the park pass calendar from time to time, so Passholders can make an additional park reservation without it counting against the reservation hold limit.
I am really curious about the new bonus days that were mentioned by Disneys official website. These bonus days are days with park pass availability that will not count against your total park reservation allotment. I was a Walt Disney World Cast Member for nine years, including time in Revenue Management, so it would seem to me these bonus days are days that arent being booked up. These would make for a great last-minute Disney day without large crowds.

How Can I Save Money
The theme park does allow you to spread your payments over 12 months with its official payment plan.
Florida residents, according to our research, will receive a discount up to 15 percent off.
Annual pass holders can save at participating hotels, often as much as 40 percent off your stay.
As long as you plan on going to the park at least 11 times while your pass is active, it will be worth it. However, if you dont plan on going this many times, then it may be wise to purchase a park hopper pass or day pass.
Discounted annual passes are available at select AAA offices in Orlando.
Disney Vacation Club members can save money as well.

Transportation From The Orlando Airport
If you are arriving in Orlando by plane, you need to figure out a way to get from the airport to your hotel. Your options will depend on whether or not you are staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel or not.
Staying On-Site: If you are staying at a Disney World hotel, your options are limited compared to what they once were. Disneys Magical Express has been discontinued which means Disney no longer offers a free shuttle service to the resorts.
As a replacement, you can take the Mears Connect Shuttle from the airport, but it isnt free. For One-Way transportation, it costs $16 per adult and $13.50 per child. For Round Trip service it is $32 per adult and $27 per child.
If that doesnt interest you, you can use one of the transportation suggestions for staying off-site listed below.
Staying Off-Site: This one is more complicated and it depends what your plans are for your trip. You can rent a car, take a taxi, or use a ride-sharing program like Uber or Lyft. Obviously, these all cost money and are not ideal if you are on a strict budget.
- Taxis are by far the more expensive choice and will cost around $50-$60 each way plus tip depending on where you are going.
- Uber is a much cheaper option and will cost between $25-$30 each way.
Some off-site hotels offer free shuttle service to and from the Orlando International Airport, so make sure to ask when booking your room.

Walt Disney World Pauses Annual Pass Sales
Disney’s annual passes for non-Florida residents are currently unavailable.
Walt Disney World has paused sales of select annual passes until at least 2022.
Announced in a message posted to the park’s website this week, the move is aimed at managing park capacity as the holiday travel season gets underway.
Existing pass holders will be able to renew their passes, but anyone who doesn’t already have a pass will have to wait unless they live in Florida and have ample free time on weekdays.
The only annual pass currently available for Disney World is the Disney Pixie Dust Pass, which provides Florida residents with unlimited visits to Walt Disney World’s Florida theme parks on most weekdays for $399 a year and is the cheapest annual pass Disney offers in Orlando.
Disney’s Pirate Pass, which allows Florida residents to visit most days of the week including weekends for $699 a year won’t be available until at least 2022.
Neither of Disney’s annual passes for non-Florida residents which offer unlimited visits to Disney parks in Florida for between $899 and $1,299 a year are currently available. Those passes are also expected to become available again sometime in 2022.
Disney launched new versions of its annual passes in September as a way to help guests commemorate The World’s Most Magical Celebration all year long. Disney this year is celebrating its 50th anniversary with lots of special events and a number of promotions including a partnership with Southwest Airlines.
How Many Times Do You Have To Visit Disney To Make An Annual Pass Worth It
Realistically, most folks are looking at the bottom line when thinking about a Disney Annual Pass. The number of times you need to visit to at least break even will vary. You need to remember that traditionally admission costs vary from day to day. Weekends cost more than weekdays. Peak times and holidays cost more than a random September week. Im just going to use my own example.
I purchased an Incredi-pass. The cost is $1299 so roughly $1380 after tax. For now, lets forget that I added on the Water Parks and PhotoPass options because we want to look solidly at theme park cost. A one day single park ticket to Walt Disney World starts at $109. Realistically though the $109 tickets are really only in late August and September so $119 is more commonly seen as the lowest number.
What Our Visit Cost vs. an Annual Pass
We visited in early December. My tickets for our 4 days would have been $485.82 plus tax for 1 park only tickets. With tax, my total would have been $517.40. At that cost Id only have to go to Disney 12 days in one year to break even. But thats on a single day ticket. The annual pass gives me the power to park hop. If you plan to park hop on most visits, that value goes up. A park hopper pass for 4 days would be $570.82 plus tax. At that price, Id break even at 10 days.

The Complete Guide To Disney World Ticket Prices
David Roark, Disney
When Walt Disney World first opened in 1971, it included the single theme park, the Magic Kingdom. Today, the Florida mega-resort, located near Orlando, offers four theme parks and two water parks . Through the years, the prices of Disneys park passesalong with the variety of ticket options to access the many parkshave grown exponentially.
The bad news is that the cost for a one-day, one-park ticket for ages 10 and older has skyrocketed to as high as $159. Fortunately, there are ways to bring the price of park passes downsubstantially in some caseswhich we will explore in our guide below. Its important to understand how Disney World’s ticket program works so that you can make informed purchasing decisions and get the best value for your ticket.
Note that Walt Disney World is open 365 days a year. All of the theme parks are open every day , while the water parks typically take a winter break in the off-season.

At Which Disney Resort Hotels Can You Use The Annual Pass
Your Walt Disney World Annual Pass is only valid for theme park admission, it doe not grant you a stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel. You can use your Annual Pass at any Resort hotel on Disney property for dining, merchandise, and sometimes room stay discounts depending on what Disney is offering at the time of your stay.
Disney World Annual Passes The Basics
New Walt Disney World Annual Passes are good for 366 days from the date of activation. In other words, if you activate your new pass on January 8, 2021, it will be good through January 8, 2022! Renewal Annual Passes, which are discounted, are good for 366 days starting from the expiration date of the previous pass, whether you use them right away or not.
You should carefully calculate your costs with and without Annual Passes before buying them. As a very rough rule of thumb, Walt Disney World Annual Passes are worth the money purely on the basis of ticket cost if you will be going into the theme parks for more than 18 days in 1-2 visits or 14 days in 3+ visits in a 366-day period. If your plans are in that ballpark, its probably worth actually calculating whether youll save money with a pass. In some cases an annual pass can still save you money for shorter stays because of the substantial benefits that are often available to Annual Passholders: hotel discounts, discounts on entertainment, restaurant discounts and free parking.

Value dates under the new system are only midweek dates in the off season that dont fall on or near a holiday. All of spring break and summer is Regular or Peak. All of the week around Thanksgiving and several weeks around Christmas and New Years Day is Peak. The week between Christmas and New Years is Holiday. Weekends are all either Regular or Peak, so the longest stretch of Value dates you can get in a row is 5 days. Also, keep in mind that the per-day price of your tickets is based on all of the valid days, so even if you plan to go into the parks on 5 Value days in March, a 5-Day tickets per-day price will be based on averaging the price for all 8 valid days , which will necessarily include some Regular or Peak days.
Disney has put a YouTube video online to help explain the changes.
