Want to get married at sea or on Disneys private island? A Disney Cruise Line wedding could be the destination wedding for you!
Disney Cruise Line is such a unique type of Disney Fairy Tale Wedding! Not everyone wants to get married in a theme park maybe youre a Disney bride or groom who wants a wedding ceremony at sea. From a ceremony in the atrium of the Disney Dream to the shores of Castaway Cay, there is truly something for every Disney lover who dreams of a Disney Cruise wedding. We cant imagine anything better than celebrating love on Disneys private island in the Bahamas and dancing the night away on one of the most magical cruise ships in the world.
Read more information about pricing here. Below are some minimum costs and venues to give you an idea of what you would pay to get married while sailing on the Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, Disney Magic, or Disney Wonder:
- Onboard celebrations start at $3,500 and can include venues such as the Atrium or an overlook at the aft of Deck 10
- Offboard celebrations start at $4,500 and can include stunning spots on Castaway Cay, Disneyâs private island in the Bahamas

You’ll Probably Have To Help Your Guests Out More Than You Usually Would
Many of your guests aren’t going to understand the size or complexity of Disney World, so it’s important to guide them through the process so they know where they need to be and when.
I created custom itineraries for each of my guests and included a map of the property.
You’re also asking your guests to spend a lot of money to be there with you. The best thing you can do is give them as much notice as possible so they can prepare for the expenses.
On the other side, you need to set boundaries on deadlines. It’s hard when someone isn’t able to make it, but “maybes” can end up costing you a significant amount of money.
I set an expectation that everyone needed to fully commit three months in advance, so I had plenty of time to report a final headcount. This saved me money on food, and I was able to consolidate tables and save on decor.
We Got To Have A Dessert Party And You Can Splurge For A Bridesmaid Tea Party Or Cruise
After our wedding ceremony, we had a dessert party. Typically, these events are used for watching Disney’s fireworks and eating desserts. Because of the pandemic, Disney wasn’t doing fireworks, so we adjusted our plan.
We also took into consideration the Florida heat. We shortened our reception to only brunch, and then later in the evening, once the weather cooled down, we held a party for dancing, cake, and desserts.
This allowed our guests to go back to their hotels and rest before the party portion of our event. In between events, my bridal party even headed over to Universal Studios for a few hours.
We held our dessert party at Whitehall Patio at the Grand Floridian, which featured the famous Monorail flying right over us.
For a higher cost, we could’ve added a farewell brunch, a bridesmaid tea party , and a dessert cruise to our wedding.

Fairy Tales And Price Tags
Much like Disney Worlds hotel categories , event locations are broken out into tiers with venue fees starting at $2,500 and soaring up to $30,000 for Cinderellas Castle inside Magic Kingdom. But the venue fee can change depending on the time and day of the week. And thats only the beginning of the bill. Because each venue has a required minimum spend. Meaning, in addition to the venue fee, you have to spend a designated amount on your wedding florals, decor, food, etc. And the higher the venue fee bracket, the higher the minimum spend. So, even though the cheapest location costs $2,500, with the necessary minimums, the cheapest wedding at Disney starts at $5,000. And that also means Cindys pad isnt just $30K. The minimum spend for just a ceremony at the castle is $50,000.
If you have your heart set on a wedding inside the parks, the most affordable option is World Showcase at EPCOT, where locations at each pavilion can be booked for $4,500. Disneys Hollywood Studios and Disneys Animal Kingdom also have locations for $4,500 such as the Tower of Terror or in front of Tree of Life, but the minimum spend is higher . And then theres Magic Kingdom. In addition to the castle, you can book the East Plaza garden for $25,000 or the Main Street Train Station for $15,000. But again, they come with steep minimums anywhere from $20,000 to $50,000.

Disney Fairy Tale Weddings
Back in 2016, Disney introduced Disney After Hours, a ticketed nighttime event. It allows guests the opportunity to experience more time in the park beyond normal operating hours and with fewer crowds and quicker access to popular attractions.
Around the same time, Disney launched something they call Disney Fairy Tale Weddings. One such fairy tale wedding option allows wedding parties to rent out the Magic Kingdom theme park once the park closes to the general public.
The whole experience is like a fairy tale. Wedding couples say their vows right in front of Cinderellas Castle and there are add-ons like fireworks and a horse-drawn carriage ride. After the ceremony, everyone in attendance heads over to Fantasyland for a magical candle-lit dinner.
Be warned: A private, after-hours wedding in Magic Kingdom is not cheap. Packages start at a whopping $180,000, but its your chance to rent out Magic Kingdom for the evening.
There are also a number of designated wedding venues throughout the park you can rent. They allow for privacy but none of them include the option of renting out an entire theme park or resort hotel. These weddings packages are much more affordable than the Magic Kingdom wedding package.
Renting Sections of a Disney Theme Park
Its also possible to rent out a section of a Disney park before or after the close. For example, weve heard of groups renting out a section of World Showcase before it opens at 11:00 am.

Disneyland Wedding Pricing & Minimums
The price of a Disneyland wedding depends on many factors, including ceremony venue, day of the week, reception venue food & beverage minimum, and guest count.
In a nutshell, the Ceremony Fee + Reception Food & Beverage Minimum = Overall Minimum.
The lowest overall minimum is $10,000.
After that, any additional elements you would like, such as entertainment, transportation vehicles, or character visits are an additional fee.
Note: For several years, Disneyland offered two different wedding packages: Escape and Wishes. These packages are not being offered anymore. All wedding options are now a la carte and customized for your exact needs and budget.

You Can Say I Do In As Little As Three Weeks
As McFann tells us, a Disney wedding can be pulled off in as little as three weeks depending on availability. “We can begin the planning process anywhere between 16 months and three weeks ahead of a couples anticipated wedding date,” she says.
To get your preferred date, reach out about a year in advance. But don’t rule anything out. It’s Disneymagic can happen!

You’ll Be Paired With A Disney Wedding Planner
Think of them as your personal fairy godmother! “When a couple first reaches out to begin planning their Disney wedding, they are paired with a Disney wedding consultant who will help them identify some of the high-level details like their wedding date, wedding venue, and estimated budget,” explains McFann. “After some of those details have been confirmed, they will be paired with their Disney wedding planner who will take their wedding vision and work with floral, food and beverage, entertainment, and other Disney wedding experts to make their fairy tale come true.”
While this makes it possible to plan the wedding from the other side of the world, going in person is an experience in and of itself. You’ll meet your wedding planner at the property’s Franck’s Bridal Studioa re-creation of Francks studio from Father of the Bridewhere you’ll view cakes, linens, themes, florals, table settings, and inspiration boards, all while classical music plays quietly in the background.

Alternatives To A Disney Wedding Weddings At Walt Disney World Not Through Disney Fairytale Weddings
Disney has hosted hundreds of thousands of weddings and vow renewals over the years through their wedding planning division, Disney Fairytale Weddings. If you arent familiar with Disney Fairytale Weddings, also known as Disney Weddings, it is the division of the Walt Disney Company that plans weddings, vow renewals, engagements and honeymoons for couples across the globe. Disney fans can basically get married at any Disney property, including aboard the Disney Cruise Line. Weddings range anywhere from $5,000 to $50,000+. But, did you know though that there are other options to get married at Walt Disney World and not go through Disney Fairytale Weddings?
Today Im sharing something that I took a crash course in when my Disney Cruise Line wedding was canceled by Disney last week. Long story short, my fiancé and I had booked a September 2021 sailing and planned to hold our wedding in the Atrium of the Disney Magic. Less than six months out, we received notification that our Disney Cruise vacation was canceled and along with that, our wedding.
We decided not to rebook ourselves and our guests on another cruise because of the uncertainty of cruising, and instead would plan a wedding at Walt Disney World. At first, we thought that we would go through Disney Fairytale Weddings, because we imagined that they would help us transition our wedding to Walt Disney World. That was far from the reality unfortunately.
Whats It Like Getting Married At Disney Its Not Always A Fairy Tale
True loves formula, per classic Disney princess custom: First, a storybook romance. Next, a lavish castle wedding. Then, a lifetime of happily ever after.
According to the Walt Disney Co., mere mortals can achieve this fairy tale. That is, with their help, and for the right price.
Disneys Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons, the companys wedding branch, may not be able to set you up with Prince Charming or promise wedded bliss, but they can help you design a wedding day fit for a queen make that a Disney princess complete with Cinderellas horse-drawn carriage and a castle backdrop, natch.
Since September 1991, Disney has put on more than 30,000 weddings around the world, including at Disneyland in California, Walt Disney World in Florida, Disneys Aulani resort in Hawaii, on multiple Disney cruise lines, and in Disney resorts and parks abroad.
In 2013, Disney held 1,500 weddings on its properties. Last year, that number swelled to more than 4,000, with about 11 ceremonies a day globally. That trend is likely to continue, as Disney rolls out live-action updates of its classic films over the next several years, such as the recent Beauty and the Beast update starring Emma Watson.
It doesnt hurt that millennials are lapping up the princess fantasy.
It also helps that the park photos make for one-of-a-kind keepsakes and easily shareable social-media content .
The final price tag? More than $100,000. The entire week weekend was a dream come true, Mulder says.

For An Extra Fee Our Guests Got To Go On A Ride In An Empty Park
Since we had a small guest list, we definitely splurged on extra events, such as a “ride mix-in” that allowed our guests to go on a private ride after the welcome dinner. It cost under $20 a person, and I was charged only for people who went on the ride.
We chose Flight of Passage, so our guests were escorted to the ride with no wait time. Plus, they got to experience Pandora at night in an empty park.
