Contemporary Resort: Chef Mickeys
If youre looking for a meal that tastes OK and also keeps your kids occupied, look to Chef Mickeys inside the Contemporary Resort. This is one of the best combinations of food and kid-oriented fun, as long as you arent looking for quiet.
It normally offers a buffet-style meal. Right now its open for breakfast and dinner. Food is served family-style at a price of $42 for adults and $27 for kids at breakfast and $55 for adults and $36 per child for dinner.
Breakfast includes everything from eggs, bacon and sausage to salmon, Mickey waffles and the famous loaded potato-cheese casserole.
Dinner consists of options such as baby shrimp, potato gnocchi, prime rib, salmon and an assortment of desserts.
While youre dining, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy dance around to music and keep your children mesmerized. We dined for an hour once at Chef Mickeys and our kids didnt complain one bit.
What Restaurants Are There In Disney World
Flying Fish Boardwalk Resort
Flying Fish is the first Signature restaurant on our list. Its located conveniently on the Disney Boardwalk, an easy walk from Epcot or even Hollywood Studios. And while the food is high quality, the restaurant isnt as exciting as it was before the renovation. For your two dining credits, there are much better choices , with meals that we think are a better value for the signature cost.

What Are The Oldest Restaurants At Walt Disney World
by David Mumpower·February 2, 2021
Magic Kingdom has evolved mightily over the past 50 yearsâ¦but maybe it hasnât changed as you might think.
Once park officials identified some businesses that they liked, they kept those names even when they moved the location.
Iâll prove that today with a simple list. Hereâs a chronological ordering of all the restaurants at Magic Kingdom!
Cape May Cafe Beach Club
If you love seafood, Cape May is the place for you! Its an all-you-care-to-enjoy buffet featuring crab legs, clams, and mussels. There are other non-seafood options, but the best bang for your buck is definitely plowing through some crab legs. Its also a character breakfast in the mornings, generally with Minnie, Donald, and Goofy. While its not the most exciting character meal, its generally easy to get a reservation, and its walking distance to Epcot which are two wins!

FRIED CHICKEN. thats why yall need to go here!
The Boathouse in Disney Springs
Its very laid back here- very southern style. So many incredible options, its a hidden gem in Disney!
We love heading here when we visit Disney Springs and getting a seat on the back deck over the water. Great food and great ambiance
Kona Cafe at the Polynesian
If youre ready for some yummy Polynesian-style food enjoy a meal at the Kona Cafe!
I simply cant say enough about kona cafe, there are SO many great options here.
The Plaza Restaurant at Magic Kingdom
The plaza restaurant is another amazing place to grab a bite to eat when you arent able to gluten. The view is fantastic and you can get bottomless milkshakes!

Disney World Gluten Free Quick Service And Mobile Ordering
Youll find some hearty options here in addition to sandwiches and burgers. Most of the quick service options are decent for quick serve. The ones at the resorts tend to have more options than those in the parks.
Then when it comes to strictly quick serve, Mobile ordering is another option that Disney World has pushed in 2021- and good news! Its pretty easy to use with a non-life-threatening Allergy.
For those of you with severe allergies, Mobile Ordering is NOT the best option, and you need to walk up to the quick serve and talk to them about placing and order with a cashier and manager.
Why? Because accidents happen- even with the chefs. The thing about mobile ordering is that the person that hands you the food is not the person that prepares it and there are huge concerns about misplaced food and cross contamination.
Think grabbing a tray with spillage of allergens and then not changing gloves before handling your tray. And I simply dont expect the regular staff, many who have no allergy training, to understand this cross contamination.
When you talk to a manager or a Chef then you can alert them to how serious your allergy is and they can limit the number of people touching your food. Win Win!
And Bonus, it really only takes about another 10 minutes of your time, to speak with someone who understands allergies and can make sure you feel safe with yummy eats!
The 10 Best Restaurants In Disney Springs
There are many places to eat at Disney Springs, which is the huge dining, shopping, and entertainment center at Walt Disney World. So many, in fact, you would have a difficult time perusing them all, checking out menus, and trying to decide where you and your gang might want to have your meal. That’s why we’ve done the perusing for you and narrowed the choices down to what we consider to be the 10 best restaurants.
The first five listed below are table-service establishments at Disney Springs. You could make reservations at any of these eateries. The remaining five restaurants are counter-service and do not accept reservations.
There didn’t used to be so many dining choices. For many years, the area was known as Downtown Disney. Dating back to the mid-1970s, it was first known as Lake Buena Vista Shopping Village, then Walt Disney World Village, and later was dubbed Disney Village Marketplace. After a major expansion that nearly doubled the size of the complex as well as the number of shops and restaurants, the resort renamed it Disney Springs in 2015.

Best Disney Character Dining Meals
A favorite Disney dining pastime is going to character meals. Though they arent for everyone, and you are paying a premium to meet the characters, it is a quintessential Disney World experience you have to do once per trip, especially if you have kids.
Here are our picks for the Best Character Meals at Disney World:
La Hacienda De San Angel
- Cost: $$$
- Type of Food: Mexican
Everyone likes the San Angel Inn at EPCOT, but while thats good, we actually prefer La Hacienda de San Angel right across the promenade. The food is slightly better quality and we love the location right on the water. Its a great spot to watch the fireworks show without having to wait for a spot outside.
You might be able to get a better Mexican meal back home for cheaper, but you cant beat the atmosphere which is close to the top at EPCOT.
What to Get: We could eat loads of the queso fundido with melted cheese with chorizo, peppers, and onions, no questions asked. The osso buco a la Mexicana is something different or you could go with either taco meal or the carne asada if you are in the mood for something more familiar.
Is it Kid-Friendly?: Yes. If your kids like Mexican food they will enjoy La Hacienda, although San Angel Inn is a better choice if you are going with kids.
- Cost: $$-$$$
- Type of Food: English, Pub
EPCOT has many great restaurants, and Rose & Crown is right up there on the list. This is an English pub that serves traditional fare like fish and chips and bangers and mash. The menu is not too expensive and the dishes are hearty and feel home-cooked.
Even though the food is good, the location is even better. If the weather is nice, try to get a table out on the patio where you can witness an incredible sunset followed by a front row seat to the fireworks show.

Pick: Steakhouse 71 Has The Best Cheeseburger At Disney World
The incredible stack burger keeps me coming back to Steakhouse 71 at Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
It’s piled high with two thin patties, melty American cheese, zesty lemon aioli, thinly sliced red onion, and house-made pickles, all on a toasted brioche bun.
It’s by far the best burger at Disney World.
Pro tip: If you can’t land a reservation, the bar/lounge has first come, first served seating for lunch and dinner.
Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill
A longtime favorite from the namesake Austrian celebrity chef, Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill got a super-spiffy refresh in 2019 to evoke a California farm house. The menu showcases Puck classics, like the once-trendy Chinois chicken salad and the iconic chicken Wienerschnitzel. Newer dishes have a Golden Gate influence, like a heritage pork chop cooked on a wood-burning grill, and enhanced by peach chutney a flat-iron steak with chimichurri and a red snapper with mango-corn salsa. The pizza? Excellent, every time. Craft cocktails are front and center. Need more energy for that next trip to the Magic Kingdom? Gulp down the Classic Affogato. Its vanilla gelato with a double shot of espresso. If all you need is a sweet fix, stroll to the outside gelato bar where you might cool off with a creamy dark cherry chocolate chunk, or butter pecan panna cotta, Italian-style ice cream.

Tipping At Walt Disney World
A frequent area of confusion for Disney guests is the topic of tipping at Walt Disney World. International guests may be unfamiliar with American tipping in general. Gratuities are a part of life when you travel in the United States. We have a page dedicated to everything you need to know about tipping at Walt Disney World.
Artist Point Wilderness Lodge
Artist Point used to be a signature dining experience, but in late 2018, it transformed into Storybook Dining with Snow White. And guess what we still love it! The food is very high quality, especially for a character meal. The character interactions are a lot of fun we love seeing Dopey, Grumpy, and the Evil Queen. And its conveniently located a boat ride away from Magic Kingdom!

Park Fare Grand Floridian Resort
1900 Park Fare is a somewhat underrated character meal. For breakfast, youre joined by British favorites, such as Alice, the Mad Hatter, Mary Poppins, and Winnie the Pooh. And at dinner, youll find Cinderellas Royal family, including Prince Charming, the Stepsisters, Lady Tremaine, and, of course, Cinderella. The restaurant gets major points for unique characters its one of the only places to meet a prince or a villain. The meal itself is decent as well for a Disney buffet, featuring the signature Strawberry Soup. But of course the main reason is the characters. Its a quick monorail ride to the Magic Kingdom as well, so its a great backup to Crystal Palace or Cinderellas Royal Table.
Yak & Yeti Restaurant
Yak & Yeti is both a sit-down and quick-service venue in Animal Kingdom. The quick-service window is a stripped-down version of the menu offered inside. Yak & Yeti isnt cheap, but the pan-Asian cuisine is quite good making it one of our favorites at Animal Kingdom. The decor will give you a bit of the feel of eating in a Nepalese market.
One way to keep your total check affordable is to order one of the shareable plates . The portion size is plenty for two or more. Skip the barbecue and burger in favor of the duck or one of the bowls. Make sure you finish with the dessert wontons youll be glad you did.

Editors note: This article has been updated with the most recent information.
Even surrounded by Disney magic, youve still got to eat. And at Walt Disney World, mealtime can range from quick burgers and fries to an entirely immersive experience. Its not uncommon to spend at least as much time strategizing about where to eat at Disney as which attractions to ride. But not all food and experiences are created equally.
At Disney World, youll need to think of meals in two separate categories: There are regular restaurants or meals that just serve as a place to fuel up before getting back to the action. Then there are meals that also count as entertainment and a way to see characters or shows without crowds.
Once your kids know they can eat in space or that Mickey, Minnie or the princesses can join them for dinner, you may have to choose between an affordable meal and creating lasting memories during a pretty pricey dining excursion.

Food Allergies And Special Requests
If you have food allergies or observe a specific type of diet such as kosher dining, make your needs known when booking your reservation and again when you arrive at the restaurant. Almost all experiences we’ve heard regarding allergies have been positive in many cases the chefs will come to the table to discuss options. Disney is one of the best places to eat with allergies because of how accommodating they are.
Boatwrights Port Orleans Riverside
This list is very hard because we actually really enjoy some of these off the beaten path resort restaurants. But when recommending eateries to people planning vacations, they arent high on our list. Boatwrights is again likely going to be a very good meal, but its out-of-the-way location and lack of exciting theming have it landing lower on our list.
