It is relatively easy to do. Take a look at our step-by-step guide for applying discounts for info on how that works.

Are Park Hopper Tickets Worth It

If your goal is to do everything Disney World has to offer from sunup to sundown, thats when you should consider Park Hopper tickets. For around $65 to $85 more, the Park Hopper add-on to any multiday ticket lets you go from park to park as often as youd like that day.

Thats not a huge cost in the grand scheme of Disney, but the fact is most families especially those with little kids dont need access to more than one park per day.

Amid the pandemic, park-hopping got even more complicated. There used to be no limitations on how many parks you could visit, or what times you could hop. Currently, you need to start with a park pass reservation for one park and enter that park. Park-hopping officially begins at 2 p.m. each day and is capacity-controlled. If time permits, you can hop to a third or fourth park assuming those parks have capacity as well.

To find out if there are any restrictions on park-hopping, guests can call 407-560-5000 to check availability, though on most days it should work out.

Before you dole out that extra cash, be sure you and your family have the stamina for it: You can easily walk eight to 10 miles per day at Disney World in just one park. Generally speaking, older kids or adults without kids benefit more from Park Hoppers, but even then its not essential. You can also hold off on the decision until you get there and simply have guest services help you upgrade to Park Hoppers if needed.

The Best Deluxe Disney World Resorts

The cream of the crop is the three resorts on the Disney monorail: the Contemporary Resort, Polynesian Village Resort and Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. They usually cost more than other Deluxe resorts, but the convenience may be worth it if you need to sneak back to your room in the middle of the day for nap time .

The Polynesian Village Resort is wrapping up a pretty extensive renovation. The Moana-themed rooms are sure to be a hit, but know that the monorail stop at the resort is still closed for renovations.

There are other Deluxe resorts with unique characteristics.

They include Animal Kingdom Lodge, where you see native African animals right outside your window, and Disneys Beach Club, which includes a 3-acre waterpark with a lazy river and a 230-foot slide from the top of a pirate ship.

These top-tier Disney Deluxe resorts generally run from $300 to $500 per night, with rates occasionally dipping to the $200-$299 range.

If you are ready to really blow out the budget, the Copper Creek Cabins at Wilderness Lodge might be our absolute favorite.

What Capacity Is Disney World At 2021

Disney world does not share its actual capacity nor the number of attendees they get daily. But as stated above, the estimated number of average daily attendees was 57,000 before the pandemic started. So, at present, it might be welcoming a maximum of 35,000 guests daily running with a 35% capacity.

Adjust Your Dining Plans & Expectations

When Can I Book A 2020 Walt Disney World Vacation Package ...

If attractions arent your main goal, its likely that dining at Walt Disney World remains a high priority for your family. Unfortunately, dining seems to be one of the biggest pain points at Disney World right now since the reopening.

A combination of supply chain and staffing issues have resulted in fewer restaurants being open and shorter hours for a lot of the restaurants that remain open. Gone are the days where you can be sure youll be able to find something substantial to eat late at night in the parks. And the choices may be even slimmer if you wait to eat when you return to your hotel late in the evening.

When will these issues sort themselves out? Its hard to tell, but were confident that when these issues have been mostly sorted out, the return of the currently suspended Disney dining plan for resort guests will likely signal that the situation has much improved. Until then, heres what you need to know about adjusting your dining plans and expectations at Walt Disney World.

Table Service Restaurants

Due to low staffing, the reality is that not every table is being filled at table service restaurants. Restaurants may notalways look busy, but it can still be difficult to find a table or you may have to wait.

Walkup availability is variable but definitely an option. You can also enter a virtual queue for same day availability via the My Disney Experience app. So dont give up if you dont get those dining reservations you want!

How Far In Advance Can You Book Disney Vacation

I’ve been trying for the past half hour to price out a Disney vacation package for 2015, but it only goes through 12/31/14. Is this a “system” problem or am I looking too far in advance? Thank you!

Must be system problem, as I know the UK early booking offer is for the whole of 2015

You can call Disney and book 499 days ahead, but they wlll adjust the rates when the 2015 rates come out, which is supposed to be in a few weeks.

UK residents can book on the UK Disney Site

The rest of us can book by calling the US Disney Reservation Phone Number

You might want to wait until the New Rates and Offers are released, usually in August

Restaurants That Require A Credit Card Guarantee Or Prepayment

The following locations require full prepayment in advance, using a credit card. Generally if you dont cancel them by two days before the event, you get no refund. Check their cancellation terms carefully, as they can change any time.

  • Cinderellas Royal Table
  • Spirit of Aloha Luau
  • Mickeys Backyard BBQ

All other table-service dining locations that take reservations require a credit card guarantee. Your credit card will be charged $10 per person if you dont either show up for the reservation or cancel by the previous day . The latest you can cancel and avoid the charge is 11:59 pm Eastern Time of the night before, though there is no one answering the phones after 11:00 pm, so to cancel after that point you would need to do it online.

At Victoria & Alberts, your credit card will be charged $100 per person if you dont show up for the reservation, or if you cancel within 72 hours of the reservation.

Note that if some of your party cant make the reservation, thats not a problem. As long as at least one person shows up to take the reservation, no one will be charged the fee.

What Are Advance Dining Reservations

How to plan and book advanced dining reservations for your Walt Disney World trip

Disneys Advance Dining Reservation System allows you to make dining reservations at Disney Worlds table service restaurants.

Advance Dining Reservations can be made by any Walt Disney World guest, including those staying off Disney property.

There are literally hundreds of dining options throughout Disney World ranging from upscale, casual, family, and themed restaurants and plenty of dinner shows and character dining events to choose from.

How Long Do I Need To Spend At Walt Disney World

Our number one recommendation for booking a Walt Disney World Resort vacation is staying at one of the Disney Resort Hotels. Unlike California where there are only three Disneyland Resort Hotels to choose from, Walt Disney World Resort is home to over 20 hotels fit for any budget.

Walt Disney World Resort offers hotels in three main categories value, moderate and deluxe. Among these properties you can find everything from standard hotel rooms to two or three bedroom villas.

There are also off-site hotels, as well as condo and hotel rentals. You can search and book all of our off-site Orlando area hotels here. Many guests find that after resort fees, cleaning fees and transportation costs, that they arent saving as much as they thought they would by staying off-site. Additionally, these packages do not always have the same generous cancellation policies, so many guests opt instead for the convenience and flexibility of staying at a Disney hotel.

Why Is Disney World Implementing A Theme Parks Reservation System

So know that we know what it is, just why exactly is Disney World using a theme park reservation system anyway?

In order to allow guests to keep a safe distance from each other, the Walt Disney World Theme Parks are running at limited capacity with much lower attendance than usual.

The number of guests in the parks each day needs to be limited. Keeping a low capacity will help protect the safety of both guests and Cast Members.

The Park Pass Reservation System does just that.

Since the parks are operating at a lower capacity, you run the risk of guests showing up and then being turned away at the gate if that park is already full for the day. The theme park reservation system eliminates that problem since everyone knows ahead of time if they can get into a certain park on a given day.

What Do I Need Before I Start

First and foremost, you will need to have your My Disney Experience account set up. And if you’re staying onsite, you’ll need your hotel reservation linked to your account. Additionally, it will speed things up if you have all the members of your dining party linked as Friends or Family to your My Disney Experience account. Next, you’ll need your credit card handy to guarantee each reservation against no-shows .

How Far In Advance Should You Book Your Disney World Vacation

Disney World Training: When to book your trip

As a Travel Agent specializing in Disney destinations, I often get asked How far in advance should I book a Disney World vacation? My answer as soon as possible. Disney World requires a LOT of planning if you want to make the most out of your time there and really needs to be booked more than six months in advance. Why, you ask? Here are just a few reasons below:

  • Availability. The earlier you book, the more options you will have as far as resorts and room choices. Disney gets more popular every single day, and resorts can get booked up quickly, especially during peak times.
  • Dining. Did you know that dining reservations can be made 180 days in advance? For popular restaurants , if you arent booking at 180 days you may very well not get the reservation you want. In some cases , it is even difficult to get the popular reservations at the 180 day mark. Dont miss out on that special meal with Mickey & friends because you waited too late to book your vacation!
  • Discounts. When you book ahead six months or more, you are booking without any discounts. However, once a discount is released, your travel agent will automatically apply the discount for you if applicable to your dates or will let you know if modifying your dates or resort will give you a better discount. Discounts such as Free Dining are becoming harder and harder to come by, and your best chance is to already have a reservation booked.

Cant Get A Reservation At The Restaurant You Want

    • Keep trying. People change and cancel dining reservations all the time, so something may open up. If you are staying on Disney property, call every day once you arrive, too.
    • You may be able to make same-day reservations by calling Dining Reservations from your hotel room , asking the lobby concierge or by walking up to the podium of the restaurant right after it opens. Dont expect to get into anyplace that is really popular, however. We tried to get walk-up reservations for the Princess Storybook Lunch in Epcots Norway one morning on a very low-season day in January and were told they were fully booked for the whole day!

When Can I Book A Disney World Vacation Package In 2022

So when will Disney release 2022 vacation package dates? Disney World has now surprisingly opened all of its dates for 2022 Disney World Vacation Packages. The biggest difference to keep in mind is although all four theme parks are open, youll still have to get park passes for each park you want to visit. Youll want to make your parks are available before picking that period, however you should have plenty of flexibility when planning in advance.

Public Health Modifications At Walt Disney World In 2021

When it comes to health and safety, Walt Disney World, like every tourist attraction, has gone through modifications and then reversals of the modifications and even reversals of the reversals at times. Its complicated, thats for sure!

Heres a rundown of the current conditions and restrictions at Walt Disney World. You can also keep up to date by checking Disneys website.

    • Masks are no longer required outdoors for any guest. All guests must wear masks indoors except when dining. This includes indoor attractions and queues.
    • While Walt Disney World has not made an official announcement, park capacity seems to be back to normal levels. While park reservations are still required, they are no longer difficult to get with the exception of big holidays.
    • Testing or vaccinations for visitors are recommended but not required.
    • Vaccines for most Disney World cast members are mandated as of October 22, 2021.
    • Guests self-determine their own distancing and cast members may encourage guests to fill in all available space in some environments.
    • Fireworks and nighttime spectaculars are back at Magic Kingdom and Epcot, guests are allowed to stand wherever they want during these shows. Expect tight conditions in any good viewing spot.

When Is The Cheapest Time To Go To Disney World

There are two things most everyone planning a trip to Disney World knows going in. First, its the most magical place on earth. Second, its the most expensive place on Earth. Well, not literally, but close.

Disney World is expensive, even if you have a handy list of ways to save money. One of the first things people to do try and save money is to pick the right timethe cheapest timeto go. In this post, well discuss the cheapest times to go to Disney World and explain how you should think about timing trips around low prices.

    Disney World Resort Guests

Who Counts as a Disney World Resort Guest?Any guest staying in a Disney World-owned hotel including Disney World Hotels and DVC Resorts counts as a Disney World Resort guest and therefore can make park reservations.

    • REMEMBER: You need a valid theme park admission along with your resort reservation to make a park reservation. Make sure everything is linked properly to your My Disney Experience account.

What if I Am Staying at a Disney World Resort AND Have an Annual Pass? That is perfectly ok. The important thing is that you have a valid theme park admission. If so, you will be able to make a park reservation.

Besides the Disney-owned hotels, there are some other hotels in the Disney World area that will have access to the park reservation system including the Disney Springs-area hotels.

The following Non-Disney hotels are participating in the Disney Park Pass system:

    • Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotel
    • Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World
    • B Resort & Spa
    • Holiday Inn
    • Wyndham Garden

If you have a reservation for any of those resorts AND a valid Disney theme park admission, you are eligible to make Park Pass reservations now.

With the way Disney allocates park pass inventory, Disney is giving priority to 2021 Resort guests over any other type of ticket holder. They obviously want guests who are spending the extra money to stay at a WDW Resort Hotel to be able to get in the parks, so usually, you have a better chance in that case.
