Hotels To Stay At In Disney World

More Perks Of Staying At A Disney World Resort

The Best Disney World Hotels for 2021!

Besides the free Magical Express airport shuttle and the free Disney bus system, Disney World gives several other nice services to resort guests.

  • Guests at Disney World resorts are entitled to Extra Magic Hours: every day, guests can beat the crowds at one theme park by entering an hour early, or staying for later evening hours. The excellent water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, offer morning Extra Magic Hours too.
  • If the theme parks are overcrowded, Disney resort guests have never turned away.
  • Purchases made in the theme parks can be delivered to a guest’s resort.
  • Disney resort guests can buy the Dining Option that can be added to the Magic Your Way base tickets for admission to the theme parks. The Dining Option is generally considered a good deal.

Another good feature for families is that the main pools at the Disney Resorts are lifeguarded.

How Should You Choose Which Disney Hotels To Split A Stay At

I personally think that if you are looking at doing a split stay, the best way to decide what hotels to stay at is to see why you are deciding to stay at a split stay in the first place. If you have two resorts you would like to stay at, those two would be good options for you to look into.

If money is an issue, booking two resorts from different price point categories could be very beneficial. If location is important to you, deciding on what parks you want to be closest to will also be very important.

For help, below are some of our other Disney Resort guides:

Having a split stay can truly enhance your Disney vacation, and help you discover even more than the giant resort has to offer. If you are looking to discover the most that Disney has to offer, a spot stay accommodation is definitely the way to go!

And if you need help planning a split stay at Disney World, dont hesitate to get in touch with our friends at Academy Travel, who will be with you every step of the way when planning your magical vacation.

Do you think you would consider a split stay on your next Disney World vacation? Have you done a split stay before?

Almost 90% of TouringPlans users stay at a Disney hotel during their trips. Beyond the convenience and amenities, users say they enjoy being in the Disney bubble the special magic and peace of mind associated with staying inside Walt Disney World.

One family sums it up like this:

I feel more a part of everything and less like a visitor.

Consider a Disney Hotel First

Weve stayed at over 100 hotels in and around Walt Disney World hotel research is one of our core areas of work. We think most families first choice should be an on-site hotel at Walt Disney World. The slightly higher cost is generally more than offset by these benefits:

Disney World Hotel Categories

Disney groups its resorts into five main categories:

  • Value Resorts have the lowest rates, along with the smallest rooms and amenities.
  • Moderate Resorts are a step up from the Values in room quality, amenities, and cost.
  • Deluxe Resorts are Disneys top-of-the-line hotels, with extensive themeing, luxurious rooms, and superior on-site dining, recreation, and services.
  • Deluxe Villa Resorts are part of the Disney Vacation Club timeshare, these are studio, 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom suites with kitchens. Most are attached to a Deluxe resort, and many equal or surpass Deluxe resorts in quality. They can also be a better value.
  • Fort Wilderness Campground offers upscale tent, RV, and cabin camping.

Walt Disney World Moderate Resorts

Disney World Tips: Why the EPCOT resort area is one of the ...

The moderate resorts are the middle tier of Disney Worlds hotels, between value and deluxe. Personally, we dont feel like they hit a sweet spotif youre on a budget we just recommend the values , and if youre looking to treat yourself, save up for a low-priced deluxe like Wilderness Lodge or Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Most rooms at these hotels are much closer to the value rooms than the deluxe rooms. French Quarter and Caribbean Beach recently received soft refurbishments, but this makes the rooms just average. Riverside is in the process of getting the same refurbishment.

Coronado Springs has the best rooms, having recently received a complete, hard refurbishment. And the Gran Destino Tower offers some of the best rooms at Walt Disney World right now.

The grounds are sort of like the value resorts but with grown up themes. They dont have the depth of the deluxe resorts. Room doors still face the outside, and youll be walking amongst a gigantic field of different buildings.

Dining options vary at the moderate resorts. Three of the four have on-site table service, but guests of Port Orleans French Quarter will have to walk ten minutes to Riverside for a table service meal. Guests at Coronado Springs get the most variety of dining.

What really defines these resorts for us is their generally poor transportation situation. Riverside and Coronado Springs rely solely on buses that make multiple stops around the gigantic resorts.

Understand Disney World Theme Park Reservations Before Booking On Or Off

Disney World now has a theme park reservation system. Guests must purchase theme park tickets plus make a theme park reservation for each day they visit Disney World parks.

There are three buckets for theme park reservations: Disney World resort guests, annual passholders, and theme park tickets. People staying off-site at Disney World are considered theme park tickets unless someone is an annual passholder. Make sure that you can get Disney World theme park reservations under theme park tickets before booking an off-site stay.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

The Pop Century Resort takes you right back to the later decades of the 20th century. From bowling balls to the yoyo, experience all the most popular fads and trends of the 1950s-1990s. Pros: kids love the theming , can walk to Art of Animation to eat at their food court, good location near all four theme parks, newly updated rooms, located on the Skyliner transportation system

Cons: as a value resort there are no water slides, hot tub or table service restaurant, have to transfer at the Skyliner station to get to the parks

With a base price of $158 per night, the Pop Century resort is totally groovy choice for your whole family.

Disney Springs Area Resorts

B Resort & Spa Review B Resort feels like a hip boutique hotel, one that is unlike anything else Ive seen at Walt Disney World. Its a really ambitious hotel, with very attractive prices considering its quality and on-site location. However, this style probably is not for everyone, namely, families with small children. It seems better suited to conventioneers or younger folks looking to go out after the parks close and have a good time at Disney Springs. .

DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Orlando Review Huge suite-style guest rooms that offer space for guests to spread out is the huge selling point of this hotel, and in that regard it absolutely excels. Oh, they also have freshly-baked cookies, so two important things really well. One of the best bang-for-buck options in all of Walt Disney World. .

Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace ReviewThe Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace is a more ambitious hotel than youd expect. It has an impressive slate of amenities, is an easy walk to Disney Springs, and has some of the absolute best rooms at Walt Disney World. Its certainly not perfect, having some dated areas, and the nightly resort fee is absurdly expensive, but even considering that, this has to be among one of the best bang for buck hotels at Walt Disney World. .

Best Resort Hotels at Disney World

Value resorts can be wait for it a way to get exceptional value with Disney resort perks, close proximity to the parks and the free Magical Express Bus to and from Orlando International Airport until the end of 2021. They can also be a big disappointment.

Your mileage will vary, but if youre on a serious budget for your Disney World vacation, they should be a consideration. Prices start a little over $100 per night and go up to nearly $300 per night on peak dates. But, for most of the year, rooms typically sell for under $200 per night.

Wyndham Grand Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort

This off-site Disney hotel is pretty much your most middle of the road choice, as it is pretty on point with how much you should expect it to cost, including its amenities and location. Though it doesnt have the complete wow factor that the others have, their rooms are still very nice and include Wifi, a spa, outdoor pools and a lazy river, and on-site dining.

Wyndham Grand Orlando Bonnet Creek normally does offer shuttle service to and from the Disney Parks/Disney Springs, however, their website says these services are temporarily unavailable for August and September 2020. Please keep this in mind as you book your trip!!

DVC hotels are owned and operated by Disney, and there are a variety of them at Disney World. You dont have to be a DVC member to book a DVC propertythey are bookable with cash and are categorized as Deluxe Villas on the Disney World website.

These properties also have access to the full set of benefits for guests of Disney hotels, and include properties like Saratoga Springs, Old Key West, and Bay Lake Tower.

We dont cover the DVC properties in this post because theyre really a distinct set of properties with a unique set of considerations. They have kitchens or kitchenettes, and some have in-unit washers and dryers, for example. Some of them are more expensive that deluxe hotels but have worse transportation .

Transportation Options Outside Disney Resorts

Meanwhile, visitors who aren’t staying at Disney World have a couple of options. Most non-Disney resorts offer free shuttles to the theme parks, but typically these shuttles run just a few times a day. Visitors probably won’t be able to return to their resort mid-day to give little kids some nap-time or a pool break, which is a good strategy during a hot day in the theme parks. And at night, guests need to return to the right bus parking lot and locate the right bus, out of many, for their resort.

Alternatively, guests could drive their own vehicle to a theme park in their morning, which may get the day off to a quick start. The end of the day may be more complicated: guests who’ve park-hopped using the Disney Bus system will need to get back to where they parked the car.

Where Should I Stay At Walt Disney World

For those planning their first trip to Walt Disney World, deciding where to stay can be a pretty daunting process. With 25 resorts on Walt Disney World property and countless hotels in the Orlando area catering to Disney visitors, its hard to know where to begin. Follow our steps and youll be booking your package in no time.

1.Decide whether you want to stay off-site or on-site. Though there are massive bargains to be had when staying offsite, it pays to do the math. Sure you may be saving $40 a night but when you factor in gas to get to and from the parks, paying $20 a day for parking, and the cost of a car rental , how much are you really saving? • Free parking at the resort and theme parks.

BEST Disney World Off-Property Resorts Options! Only Hotels Near Disney w/ Magic Hours

Pop Century Resort is entirely newly refurbished rooms. All-Star Movies is now the same, and it is expected that Music and Sports will be next.

Currently, Art of Animation is not expected to get refurbished rooms in the near future. Its current rooms are somewhere between the other old and new rooms in quality.

New value room

Rooms are the factor we weight most in comparing the value resorts . Some people dont like the new feel of the refurbished rooms.

We get that theyre a step in the direction of a clean and modern aesthetic. While we dont care much for that among the deluxe and moderate resorts, we find it to be an improvement over the old value rooms.
