Best Disney World Hotels For An Extra
Here are 13 of the best Disney World hotels for every budget and travel style.
When Disney World first opened 50 years ago, the resort had just one theme park and two hotels. Today, the massive resort complex is home to more than 20 themed Walt Disney World hotels and four of the world’s most popular theme parks. With that in mind, planning a Disney World vacation might seem overwhelming, but don’t worry we’ve rounded up 13 of the best hotels near Disney World to help you get started.
Before you book a room, there are a few things you should know about Disney World hotels. Disney categorizes their on-site hotels and resorts as Deluxe, Deluxe Villas, Moderate, Value, and Campgrounds. All Disney resorts have benefits like complimentary transportation to the theme parks, early park entry, and of course, Disney-level theming and service. Deluxe properties tend to be the most expensive, the closest to the theme parks , and the most luxurious, and starting this fall, guests staying at a resort in the Deluxe category can enjoy extended nighttime hours in the theme parks, too. There are also area hotels that are not owned by Disney like the Four Seasons and Waldorf Astoria that offer some of the same perks found at Disney hotels.
From safari-inspired luxury hotels to guest-favorite properties celebrating 50 years of magical memories, here are 13 of the best Disney World hotels.

Disneys Polynesian Village Resort
One of two Disney World hotels dating back to the theme park resort’s opening day 50 years ago, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is a guest favorite, loved for its Polynesian-inspired design and proximity to Magic Kingdom Park. The Polynesian Village Resort has great dining options: Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto serves up tiki drinks with a touch of Disney magic, Dole Whips are available at Pineapple Lanai, and guests rave about the breakfast and dinner at ‘Ohana. Visiting the theme parks is easy thanks to the Deluxe hotel’s monorail stop, and you can even spot the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach. Recent additions include overwater bungalows and new “Moana”-themed guest rooms.

Best Of The Disney World Hotels For Families With Big Kids And Tweens
Island life meets pirate life at Disneys Caribbean Beach Resort, one of the best moderate-level Disney World hotels. Rooms are divided into clusters of bungalows themed for different Caribbean islands. Big kids will love the pirate-themed rooms with ship-shape beds and rum barrel nightstands. Parents will like the child-sized pull-down sleeper for children who no longer want to share a bed at night. Disneys Caribbean Beach Resort has a fantastic Fuentes del Morro pool themed like a Spanish fortress with a waterslide, shipwreck play area, and pirate water cannons.
Other activities for kids include bike rentals, a daytime pirate cruise for ages four to 12, and an evening mystery cruise for ages 10 to 16. Disneys Skyliner gondola system provides easy access to Epcot and Hollywood Studios, and bus service provides transportation to the other theme parks.
Disneys Coronado Springs Resort
Since its recent refurbishment and the addition of the Gran Destino Tower, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort has become one of the top choices in the Moderate resort category. Located near Disney’s Animal Kingdom, this Spanish-, Mexican-, and American Southwest-inspired hotel has one of the best pools on property, with a 50-foot Mayan pyramid centerpiece and a 123-foot waterslide . Rooftop Toledo Tapas, Steak, & Seafood and Dahlia Lounge offer upscale Spanish flavors with a great view. We recommend staying in the Gran Destino Tower for easy access to the restaurants and resort transportation with nearly 2,000 rooms spread out in many buildings across the resort, some are a bit of a walk from the main tower.

Best Moderate Disney World Resorts
Moderate resorts at Disney World represent something of a challenge when it comes to vacation planning. Accommodations at some of these properties are certainly better than the Value resorts , but they tend not to have immersive themes like those priced both above and below this tier.
But, as always, there are standouts in every category. Prices at Disney Moderate resorts often cost between $200 and $400 per night.
Disneys Port Orleans Resort
This resort sits squarely in the Moderate category and, in fact, has yet to reopen at all after the pandemic closure. Its big and spread out, with more than 3,000 rooms combined across the French Quarter and Riverside areas. The French Quarter theme will remind folks of New Orlean, and fans of The Princess and the Frog will enjoy seeing Tiana in some guest rooms.
These resorts originally opened in the early 1990s, and though theyve been updated since, the rooms are still on the smaller side. Port Orleans has pools on both sides of the resort and youll also find horse-drawn carriages along the river. But neither have the sorts of activities that can keep kids occupied when youre not in the parks. The restaurants here are also focused on quick service.
Some folks love the charm of Port Orleans. But for the price, wed choose a Value resort over this Moderate resort.

Disneys Beach Club Resort And Yacht Club Resort
The biggest reason to stay at Disneys Beach Club Resort is in the name. The Beach and Yacht Clubs shared 3-acre waterpark, Stormalong Bay, is a favorite among families.
With that amazing pool complex, you really dont even have to leave your hotel for a day of water fun. A ticket to one of Disneys awesome water parks normally starts around $70 , but visiting Stormalong Bay instead can help justify the room rates here.
Older kids can climb the shipwreck and slide 230 feet into the plunge pool, while younger kids will have no problem navigating the zero-entry pool from the beach just outside the hotel. And, there are three other pools scattered across the grounds, too. Disneys Yacht Club shares these amenities with Beach Club.

Themed Rooms At Value Disney Resorts
The Disney World Value Resorts with Themed Rooms will be your least expensive option. The Art of Animation has a few different options, some less expensive than others but all with incredible designs.
| 3 Star Rating
The least expensive Disney World Themed Hotel Rooms would have to be the Little Mermaid rooms at the Art of Animation resort. Just look at the Little Mermaid room. Shell Shaped headboards, cutouts of Flounder and Sebastian, pictures of Ariel, and a complete array of water-filled designs. Little Mermaid rooms are designed to give you a feel of what it must be like under the sea. These Disney World Themed Hotel Rooms are a perfect place and the price is lower because it is set up like a standard hotel room.
Off of the Bedroom is a nice, sectioned bathroom with a sink in one section and the toilet and tub/shower in a closed-door area. The nautical theme continues throughout the bath with a reef encased mirror and underwater scenes in the shower.
Since the Mermaid Rooms are the cheapest you can find at the Art of Animation Resort, they do not hang around long. If you are interested in getting one, you will need to book well in advance of your stay.
Boys and Girls alike enjoy the Cars suite. Parents like it because it is so spacious compared to the Little Mermaid Rooms.
To Stay Inside Disney World Or Outside
My partner and I – no kids – are planning our first trip to Disney World and I have found the accommodation choices overwhelming…. Looking for some advice about whether to stay within Walt Disney World or further out . I hope that I have explained that clearly enough. We will be staying 5 or 6 nights from around the 17-May-2012.
It appears that on the inside of WDW the accomm is more expensive but wondering if its worth paying the extra dollars. We will have a hire car so travelling from outside accomm can be done but we do have to consider travel time / traffic and then have to pay daily parking fees at the theme parks. Inside accomm seems mostly covered by complimentary shuttle buses around WDW to most all the attractions – as well as Downtown Disney. I also see on other posts that alot of people head back to their accomm mid way through their days from the theme parks, for an afternoon siesta, then go back again later in the day.
Is it worth saving money on the accomm just to forego the convenience of staying within WDW?
Help me, if you can. Ta much.
If you are just visiting the Disney Parks, for a short trip of 6 days I would consider it.
Also if you could get the free Disney dinning, that might persuade me to stay on site.
I stay outside Disney, because I always visit other Orlando parks, I enjoy the choice of restaurants outside Disney and it tends to be cheaper.
If you wanted to stay outside of Disney, but nearby you could stay at LBV.
