Going To Walt Disney World

Which Disney World Park Is Best

Disney VIP Tour 2022 | $850 Per Hour | Skipping All The Lines & Going Backstage | Walt Disney World

There are 4 unique theme parks which make up Disney World Orlando, and each offers something different. If you have the time I highly recommend doing one day at each one however if you only go to one, Magic Kingdom is the best bang being the Disney World Park with the most rides, the latest opening hours and most shows .

Disneys Animal Kingdom used to be better for children, but now with the addition of the new World of Avatar, it has one of the best amusement park rides on the planet and adults will love it.

Epcot will appeal more to adults who can drink their way through 12 countries, and is a bit lacking on rides but you can spend the most time exploring, it even has a Japanese department store! Finally, Hollywood Studios has plenty for Star Wars fans and Pixar lovers, and with the opening of Star Wars Land next year its set to sky-rocket and become one of the best parks in Disney World.

As I said Its a tough choice and best to just go for the 4-day, 4-parks Disney pass. If you have a longer stay the Disney Water Parks are also worth checking out, but in 4 days you will have enough to do already.

Why Is It Still Worth It

When Pauls guests ask Is it worth going to Walt Disney World right now?, he starts by saying:

Putting worth on something is very personal and its different for each individual. Is it worth going usually is determined by what you are wanting to experience.

Theres a lot of things that Disney has taken out of their normal schedule but overall, I do believe it is still worth going, especially right now. The crowds are still at limited capacity so this gives you an opportunity to experience more at the parks without having to fight the crowds and also just to be able to leisurely stroll and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells that you normally may miss. This alone is a huge benefit.

I believe, even with all the restrictions in place, there is still plenty of magic both children and adults can experience at Walt Disney World.

Use A Disney Vacation Planner

There are authorized Disney Vacation Planners who will help you plan your trip from start to finish at no cost to you. Since they have a direct relationship to Disney, they can work on your behalf, add and adjust reservations, and help you out with the best discounts for your solo trip.

This is particularly important if its your first time visiting Disney alone. Their assistance can help reduce the feeling of overwhelm when planning your trip to the Florida resort.

  • The International Food and Wine Festival will be in full swing over at Epcot. Whenever possible, we recommend that you avoid Epcot on Thursday Sunday .
  • Weather has always been a factor when planning Disney World trips, but the temps and humidity in October often surprises guests visiting from cooler climates.

How Much To Budget For Walt Disney World

Heres are three numbers: $3,927,$5,731, and $8,468 Those are the numbers from our in-depth post on How Much Does A Disney World Vacation Cost? for a budget, standard, and expensive Disney World trip for a family of four in 2022. The 2023 figures will probably be about 3-5% higher. Those prices include flights, park tickets, dining, transportation between MCO and Disney World, and hotel stay.

What To Do In Disney World When It Rains

This is Florida we are talking about, so it is not if but when it rains at Disney World.but its not really a problem!

Unlike Universal Studios Orlando Disney World has many, many rides which are indoors so many times you will not even notice the downpour but if you do, you can always pop into one of the many shows, take a break and eat at the restaurants, browse the gift-shops or organize your next fast past.

The rain normally only lasts for less than 30 minutes so trust me, any time of year it is not going to be a problem when it rains at Disney World.

Key Things To Keep In Mind If You’re Visiting Disney World In 2022 And Beyond

1. Safety measures are still in place but changing.

Recently, Disney World amended its policies a bit masks are mandatory for all guests ages 2 and up, regardless of vaccination status, in indoor locations across the resort . Masks remain optional for guests in outdoor common areas. Temperature checks have been phased out and distancing measures are being reduced or eliminated across the resort . That said, you should read up on all of the health and safety protocols in place before you go for the latest information.

2. Nighttime spectaculars have returned!

Hip, hop, hooray! Two all-new nighttime spectaculars, “Disney Enchantment” at Magic Kingdom and “Harmonious” at EPCOT, have debuted for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration.

3. Entertainment, shows and character greetings are returning in modified form.

Parades and other shows that typically draw big crowds are not hoppening right now on average days, but in 2022, we’ll see the return of Festival of Fantasy parade and Fantasmic! Character dining experiences are continuing to reopen, including Hollywood & Vine, Tusker House and Storybook Dining at Artist Point.

4. More and more restaurants are reopening, but they may have modified or updated menus.

5. Mobile Order is a must-do.

6. Capacity is going up in the parks.

When the resort reopened, Disney World initially capped its park attendance at 20 percent. That limit has continued to increase as more guests hop back to the parks.

18. Consider travel insurance.

Itineraries & Attraction Advice

Having an itinerary is a big deal, even for some frequent Walt Disney World guests. Some visitors create binders, spreadsheets, and schedule every step of their day. People get serious and obsessive about this. We are not those people. Planning is important, but going to those lengths is unnecessarily stressful and creates unrealistic and rigid plans. The best laid plans often go awry, and when that inevitably happens, it can be disappointing if youve over-planned.

With that said, we also recommend first-time visitors do not wing it for your daily itinerary. You dont need to plan every movement so that theres no spontaneity in your trip, just make sure you have at least a loose plan of what youre going to do. As with most things in life, balance and moderation are key.

We have the following flexible step by step plans for each park that cover our perfect days using standby-only:

With that said, wed strongly recommend using our pre-made Walt Disney World Park Itineraries. Those step by step guides are maximized for efficiency, and will save far more time than ones you put together yourself, or just winging it. These are good, flexible itineraries that offers attractions, dining, and other things to enjoy without going crazy with mapping out every bathroom stop of your day.

Best And Worst Times To Visit Walt Disney World Universal Orlando Resort And Seaworld Orlando In Fall And Winter 2022 And 2023

magic_kingdom_play_areas_playground_walt_disney_world

Best times to go:

  • Weekdays in November
  • Weekdays in December that dont fall on a holiday week

Heres why: A lot of families save their trips for the holidays. With so many groups relying on collective time off together with the rest of their members, the holidays tend to be incredibly busy . That being said, if your circumstances are such that you can make it during a weekday during the holiday season, the beautiful decor, special shows, and delectable treats make going at that time completely worth it, in our opinion.

Worst times to go:

  • Thanksgiving week
  • The week of Christmas through the New Year

Heres why: Holidays attract visitors, its just that simple. Many groups decide that their trip to an Orlando theme park is their holiday gift to one another, and its hard to blame them. Being in some of the most magical and immersive places you can think of, with those you love, during the holiday season, is just about as idyllic as you can get! Just remember that the high traffic of going to the parks on or around holidays means that all those employees cant be doing the same with their families!

We know better than anyone that sometimes, vacations plan themselves and you arent able to have complete control over when you go. Regardless, we hope that this information will serve you well on your exciting Orlando vacation. Be sure to check out our Crowd Calendar for information on projected crowd levels at Universal Orlando Resort.

Types Of Disney World Tickets

Disney has many different ticket types.

There are standard tickets, Park Hopper tickets, party tickets and the occasional special ticket offer that can save money in the right situation. After deciding on how long your trip will last, you need to decide whether you want to visit one theme park per day or multiple parks per day.

Standard tickets allow entry to one park per day and start at a bit more than $100 a day on the most off-peak of dates. Peak dates start north of $150 for a one-day ticket. The price for a single-day park ticket varies based on when youre visiting and which park you want to visit , but most folks visit over several days.

You begin to see your per-day price really drop at five or more days. For example, on a five-day ticket, the fifth day only costs about $35 on top of the four-day pass.

Disney World will give you a few days of cushion to use up your multiday tickets. For example, you have eight total days to use up a five-day ticket, but you cant save unused days for a trip next year. That does help though if you want to go to Disney for a week but will need some built-in downtime during that time. When deciding on how long to visit, theres no question that one longer trip to Disney World is less expensive than two shorter trips when you factor in ticket prices.
