Best Parks For Disney World With Toddlers
All the parks have options for the young kiddos, but some are going to offer a bigger variety of options.
Id say you cant go wrong by taking toddlers to Magic Kingdom.
That should be your first and most frequent stop.
Most of the rides are perfect for the preschool kid!
Hollywood Studios has some fun shows if your toddler can sit through them.
And Toy Story Land is just adorable and FANTASTIC for kids this age!
They Still Get Child Pricing
Thats right! As long as theyre under 10, they still get child pricing on everything, from park tickets to meals and more. It wont save you a ton of money, but every little bit counts on a trip to Disney World. Whats more, you can better negotiate when it comes to purchasing expensive souvenirs than you can with tiny kids.
The 10 Best Disney Rides For Little Kids And Toddlers
Between its four Orlando theme parks, Walt Disney World is home to more than 50 rides and attractions. And while many of these Disney rides have no minimum height requirement, that doesnt necessarily mean theyre the best Disney rides for young kids and toddlers. Some, like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, have scary elements that may be too intense for little ones, especially toddlers.
To help you avoid any unnecessary tears on your next trip, weve put together a list of 10 Disney World rides that kids of all ages will love. Each of these is appropriate for all heights and ages and will ensure your family creates only the happiest Disney memories.
Options For Renting A Stroller
If you dont want to bring your stroller on the plane with you, but still would like to use one in Disney, no problem. There are two ways you can go about doing this when visiting Disney World with young kids.Firstly, you can rent a stroller from Disney World. You can pre-book a stroller for as many days as you will need one. The cost is $15 a day . Families can pick up the stroller at the entrance of the park. Then, return it before leaving the park.
However, if you have a tired kid at the end of a long day, who is done walking or is sleeping, then dropping off the stroller at the park may be an issue. You still have some walking to do to get to your mode of transportation. You may even have to wait for the transportation to arrive. Tired kid plus no stroller could spell trouble. As such, your second option is to rent from a stroller company. Yes, thats a thing in Orlando! Some of the stroller companies will even meet you at the airport for drop-off and pick-up. Plan to spend anywhere from $55-$110 for your length of stay. Kingdom Stroller is one such company. In fact, they offer an array of brands, as well as both single and double strollers.
Toddlers At Disney Tips: Packing Snacks Is A Must
Do NOT be afraid to bring a bag of snacks and use them when you travel to Disney World with toddlers.
Walt Disney World allows you to bring snacks and drinks into the parks.
While waiting in line or even walking across the park to use your next Genie+ selection, your little one will appreciate the snacks.
I learned this tip from Moms Panel Jennifer: Walmart will deliver a package of goodies to your resort for you.
The resorts do charge a nominal fee to accept the delivery, but its still a better deal than renting a car to go shopping.
You need to place your order 7-10 days before arrival and put your resorts physical address for shipping.
You can also use Amazon Prime Now for even faster delivery.
We loved having bottled water, juice boxes, fruit pouches, goldfish crackers, and granola bars ready to take with us to the park every day.
And, of course, everything is better with a $5 Rice Krispy treat shaped like Mickey.

There Are Plenty Of Rides And Attractions For Them
Disney is a family destination, and as such, they have dozens of rides and attractions in all four parks that are more than appropriate for preschoolers, even if they cant tackle Space Mountain just yet. There are boat rides like Its a Small World , 3D shows like Mickeys PhilharMagic , and track rides like The Seas with Nemo and Friends .
Theyll get to see so many of their favorite characters on these rides. Mickey and Minnies Runaway Railway stars this original dynamic duo. Theyll encounter exotic animals on the Kilimanjaro Safari . Meet princesses, Pixar heroes, and even Star Wars favorites on rides, character meet-and-greets, and more.
Disney offers a Rider Switch program if the parents or adults in the group are thrill-seekers. One of the parents rides the ride while the other stays with the kids. Once the first parent rides, the other parent swaps places with them to ride while the kids are safe, too.

Take In Some Live Shows
Disney World offers a phenomenal array of live entertainment that features familiar characters and sensational music. And, since shows are typically less than a half-hour long, they are perfect for toddlers’ short attention spans. If you have to pick just one, make it the Festival of the Lion King at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which combines fabulous costumes, wonderful songs, and an incredible mix of pageantry, puppetry, and acrobatics.
Best Disney Theme Park For Kids Under 5
When thinking about what is the best theme park for kids, Magic Kingdom is going to be our top park again for the under 5 age group. Walt Disney World in general is going to be a wonderful vacation for young kids, because you will be able to experience the most for what you pay for. Magic Kingdom is also a great park with the best Orlando attractions for families. That just means there are many rides in Magic Kingdom where you wont have to do rider-swap or have a child sit out because they are too small.

The Right Way To Visit Disney World With Kids Of All Ages
Since the COVID-19 pandemic, Walt Disney World has updated its safety protocols. You can review them here. As a result of the pandemic, some attractions and services may be unavailable such as the FastPass+ system.
Are you going to Disney with kids? Getting everyone ready to go on a big trip can be tough, but these tips will help ensure that the whole family has fun on vacation.
I went on Disney trips at ages 5, 9, 12, 15, 18 and 20 with my family. My mom planned all of our trips, and as my brother and I got older, my mom steadily increased the amount of input we gave about our vacation plans.
Since Ive been lucky enough to go on several Disney trips, Ive had time to figure out what I like and the nostalgic things I cant miss when Im there.
In this article, Ill give you Disney tips for children in different age groups young children, middle-grade kids and pre-teens, and teenagers. But first, lets discuss some information for the whole family.
Dont Judge A Ride By Its Cover
Frequently I see folks overlooking shows or quiet rides in favor of thrill rides. Going to Disney World with toddlers forces you to look past that. Remember, every ride at Disney has a story behind it, so even some of the slower ones can be enjoyable.
If it hadnt been for my toddlers, I likely would have skipped some of the fun sing-along shows at Disney, such as the Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration.
Even play areas such as the Storybook Circus near Dumbo the Flying Elephant have hidden details if you slow down and look.

What Transportation Should I Use
If you decide to fly into MCO , and you are staying at one of the resorts on property, you have the option for Disneys Magical Express. I personally love this service. It is a free bus shuttle to your resort. The buses are large and comfortable. They even play cartoons during your ride. You do not need to have a car seat for your little one on the bus, but if you have a car seat you do have the option of installing it on the bus seat.
Buses, Boats, and Monorails
Depending on what resort you are staying at, you will need to use Disney transportation to get to the parks if you decide to use Magical Express. Check out ourlisting of resorts to see the transportation options at each resort. If you stay at a resort that only has bus transportation to the parks you will need to keep in mind that strollers must be folded up when on the bus. If you have boat or monorail transportation you can keep your child in the stroller as long as you are with them.
If you decide to drive or have a rental car, you won’t have to worry about the hassle of Disney Transportation, but you will have to pay for parking. Resort guests pay the following parking fees:
- Value: $13/night
- Moderate: $19/night
- Deluxe and Villas: $24/night
You pay the fees to your resort, but when you drive to the park you will be able to park there for free since you are a resort guest.
Dont Be Afraid To Split Up
Our older kids wanted to ride Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin but it had a bit of a wait.
The toddler was way past the ability to wait in line for a ride at this point, so we split up.
Everyone was happy, and we didnt subject other park-goers to 35 minutes of a toddler not wanting to stand in line.
So we hit up some characters.
If your toddler isnt shy or scared of the characters, this is an excellent way to keep them entertained and to make some great memories.

Tickets For Disney World Parks
We purchased hopper tickets ahead of time and also purchased wristbands.
In my opinion, the flexibility of the hopper tickets and the convenience of the bracelet was worth it. We hopped to a different park two out of the three days.
If you are unsure about wanting to buy wristbands, you can find them at Disney or in your hotel.
Naturally, my four-year-old lost his wristband by day three, and they accommodated him at the park entrance with a ticket.
Our Disney schedule:
- Day one: Arrive, pool, dinner out
- Day two: Magic Kingdom
- Day three: Animal Kingdom, dinner in Epcot
- Day four: Universal
- Day five: Pool and depart

Keep Track Of Everything
In your mind, you probably have an image of Disney as a massive, busy place. And you know what? Its even bigger and busier than the picture in your head. Its easy to get turned-around or feel pulled in a million different directions due to the throngs of people. There are a few things you can do to give you peace of mind when navigating the chaos with your kids, though.
To keep tabs on your little ones, you could opt to get them smartwatches or fitness trackers that have a coordinating GPS location app. But dont stress if thats not in the budget. Some families get temporary tattoos for their kids made that have the parents names and phone numbers . I met a mom once who went this genius route she went to Wal-Mart and got a dog tag from the machine near the entrance that had her information on it. She then clipped it right onto the loop on her daughters shorts.
Taking a few photos at the start of each day can be a helpful organizing and safety hack, too. Snapping a quick photo of your kids could prove invaluable in describing their outfits to security if they go missing while youre at the park. While youre at it, take a quick photo of the back of your MagicBand in case you lose it. It should be linked to your My Disney Experience app, but it doesnt hurt to have backup documentation. And since were talking about magic bands, get the clips that help secure them for little ones. We lost two before we got smart and started using these.
If Possible Stay Somewhere With A Pool
Our Disney trip didnt go exactly as expected, and the pool was my saving grace.
We stayed at the Grand Floridian, and this hotel has a few pools to take a break from the crowds and have a snack break away from the parks.
A standard hotel room may be tight for a family of five, but we brought along a portable Shunk bed for my youngest to sleep on.
For a few reasons, this may not be your hotel of choice. Keep an eye out for pricing. Some days are much higher than others.
Many families stay in an Airbnb or another hotel near the parks.
Take a look at the hotels in the Disney area before deciding. Again, ask around and think about what is most important for your family and your budget.
If you have young children who nap, it is helpful to stay in a hotel on Disney property to take the monorail back to and take a midday break. A few toddlers were spotted taking a nap in a pool chair or a stroller.

The best place to do this is also the home to all things Star Wars, Hollywood Studios. Here youll find lots of crowd favorites like Mickey and Gang, plus the only place youll find our lovable snowman Olaf.

Youll Save Some Money
While children three and under get into the parks for free, children under ten are eligible for reduced pricing on park admission and childrens pricing on other things, such as dining plans and meals.
Kids this age also eat and drink less and are better satisfied with less expensive stuff than older kids.
