Disney World Vip Tour Review

Disney Vip Tour: Day 2

Disney World VIP Tour Review | Disney World Vlog | Hollywood Studios | Animal Kingdom| Magic Kingdom

Day 2 started with us meeting Kelly at the resort lobby at 8:30am. We had filming to do at the Magic Kingdom for the media event we were attending. It was so much fun! The kids were surprised with a visit from Mickey Mouse. Watch the video here!

After our short morning at Magic Kingdom we headed over to Animal Kingdom to start our day. We entered close to Dinosaur and experienced all three attractions in DinoLand very quickly.

From there we drove over to Kilimanjaros Safari but decided against riding it because the Fastpass line was really backed up.

A common misconception with the Disney VIP tours is that you skip the lines completely. This is not entirely true. There are a few attractions that offer special entrances, but most attractions you enter through the Fastpass line.

Obviously this saves an enormous amount of time and your VIP tour guide has planned your itinerary based on the best times to visit attractions.

From there we headed over to Pandora to enjoy Flight of Passage and Navi River Journey. We also stopped for lunch at Satuli Canteen. Lunch was one of our favorites from the weekend. The food was delicious and I highly recommend visiting. It is quick service and does not require reservations.

I do recommend you take advantage of the mobile ordering system and use the My Disney Experience App on your phone. This saves you so much time waiting in lines to order.

Other Things To Know About Your Tour:

  • It can get tiring, even with a car driving you around. So take your time and enjoy the experience.
  • Tipping? We asked a former tour guide and they said while tipping is not expected, it is still very much appreciated. We tipped our guides as they were exceptional.
  • Feel free to bring snacks, the tour is long and while there are two stops for snacks, our little ones found themselves wanting pretzels, ice cream and waters throughout the tour.

The Ultimate Nights Of Adventure Vip Tour

As its name suggests, the Ultimate Nights of Adventure VIP Tour takes place after dark at Disneys Animal Kingdom culminating in the Rivers of Light nighttime spectacular . You can check the itinerary when you make your booking.

Note that Rivers of Light closed in 2020 and it is not clear what will happen if this tour is re-opened

The tour starts four hours before the first evening showing of Rivers of Light and you need to check-in behind the Tree of Life on the Discovery Island Trail, 15 minutes before the start of the tour.

The tour includes Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Avatar Flight of Passage, Navi River Journey, DINOSAUR and Rivers of Light.

During the course of the evening there is an opportunity to partake in a complimentary supper with signature snacks and speciality drinks .

Minimum height is 44 or 40 inches for some of the rides.

The walking tour lasts around four hours and costs $249 per person plus tax. There are no reductions for children and under 18s must be accompanied by a participating adult.

The tours run every night but there are blockout dates.

How A Vip Disney Tour Works

I took a million photos during the fireworks display at Magic Kingdom and Jennifer had us in the perfect spot to take them from!

OK, lets get down to the factual bit, how does a VIP tour of Disney actually work? Well, first things first, you meet your guide. We met Jennifer upon check in at our hotel, the Grand Floridian. She escorted us to dinner and basically took care of everything, we didnt have to worry about anything.

She picked us up each morning in a lovely air-conditioned mini van and drove us to our park of choice. There were always bottles of water in the van which is definitely necessary in that Florida heat. We entered the parks through the back entrance for VIPs and cast members only. I dont want to tell you too much about that part, weve got to preserve the magic! But essentially it just meant that we didnt have to queue or show tickets or anything like that, we just strolled right in with our guide.

Then, when it comes to rides/attractions, your guide is your fastpass, no need to book any. Jennifer would just walk up to the fastpass lane, tell the staff how many people were in our group, and then theyd just count us as we sailed through. On some rides your guide will actually be able to bring you in a side entrance, which made me feel like I was in on some big secret.

Jennifer made a bee line through all the stunning floral displays in Epcot to find us this one and make sure we got a great photo.

Disney Vip Tour Recap

Review: Walt Disney World VIP Tour at Magic Kingdom

The day was a spectacular one and as we munched on chips and salsa, sipped margaritas and Diet Coke and reflected on our day, we were amazed at all we had accomplished, experienced and seen.

We joked about the secret entrances, our Disney VIP Tour Guides knowledge and what it might be like to be a Club 33 Member. We talked about how crazy the day was and how just 9 hours earlier, we had started at Magic Kingdom.

We were also excited about our trip after all, this was just Day 1. And the Disney VIP Tour had set us up to enjoy our remaining four days in a completely different way.

We no longer needed to stress about seeing all the headliners we already experienced them! In fact, the next four days would be a trip at a slower pace than any Disney World vacation in recent memory.

We would dawdle more, snack more, spend more time in shops, take nap breaks and still get a chance to experience our favorites again with minimal waits.

We spent a lot of time talking about if we would do a Disney VIP Tour again or, if so, how it would be different. It was a mixed bag with no clear answers. In fact, The Nerds own analysis is like a stream of consciousness that makes no sense.

If money were no object, it would be nice to do this for two days.

1 day solely at Magic Kingdom due to the sheer volume of attractions.

This would allow plenty of time to smell the roses and not feel rushed. The other day could be a headliner tour at the other parks.

Behind The Scenes Transportation

One of the biggest perks of the VIP Tours is the park to park transportation through the most unexpected places in the parks. I have no pictures here because these are the backstage experiences and pictures are not allowed.

It was so amazing to only have to go through bag check once at Hollywood Studios. To walk into the park from behind attractions like Navi River into Pandora was the most VIP feeling!

We traveled park to park in a 15 passenger van with a group of 10 of us. The kids loved climbing to the back to talk about all the adventures they were having.

Split The Cost Across 2 Families

When you book a VIP Guide with Disney, you get to choose the people that will be in your group, and as long as you stay within the 10 person/guide ratio, youre free to put together your group however youd like.

So, if youre traveling with multiple families or couples, you can easily split the cost.

Even just splitting with one other family can be a huge savings and make a day with one of Disneys VIP Tour Guides much more affordable than you might have thought.

During The Disney Vip Tour

Disney VIP Tour Experience

In addition to a park plan, there are several concierge-type experiences that our guide offered. At each ride, she parked our strollers and waited for us with our stroller at the exit. She would go get waters, popcorn, or iced tea while we were on a ride and had them waiting for us.

Our guide took pictures of us with her phone, and she extracted my camera from around my neck a few times so that we now have proof that I was actually at Disney World with my family, a wonderful perk for me that lasts long after the tour.

Towards the lunch hour, she took our orders, set us on rides, and then we met her at the Columbia Harbor House where she waited for us with our plates of salmon and broccoli at the table. My husband thought this service was worth its weight in gold.

She had a way with kids, and my son, who is four, felt comfortable with her quickly. After we rode the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, my daughter asked to ride again. Our guide took her by the hand, and off they went.

I was waiting for them to come down the hill where I could photograph them. A few minutes later, I saw her in the front row with her arms up in the air.

Join the Luxury Disney World Facebook group if we can answer your questions when planning your next Disney vacation.

It was such a bonus to have someone who loves doing this. I canât confirm this, but I assume that private guides are paid better than the Disney guides.

Disney Ultimate Vip Tours

There are a few variations on the Ultimate VIP Tour that follow a set itinerary around a theme. One is designed for families with young children . Another focuses on thrill rides .

These tours have a per person cost between $249 and $299 and are group tours capped at 40 people, led by four tour guides on a set schedule. They currently run on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays only.

The Ultimate Disney classic VIP tour is to maximize rides curated around a specific age group. Lunch is included, though transportation to the parks is not, nor are Park Hopper tickets.

Everyone follows the same itinerary for the tour that covers multiple parks. Families have the option of not riding a ride and waiting, but it is not a tour with flexibility. Families cannot substitute rides for others during the tour. But they can book regular Fast Passes before the tour.

Ultimate Day Tours are not available during the peak season of the Christmas holidays. The peak season runs approximately from December 23rd through January 2nd.

Want To Do Three Parks In One Day

Doing one park is hard enough, but on Disney VIP tickets we had plenty of time to do three parks, plus enjoy a delicious, laid-back meal at one of Disneys fine dining restaurants. More about that further down.

Getting between the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom can normally take up to 45 minutes by shuttle, let alone walking through the parks. This door-to-door Animal Kingdom VIP tour really means you can maximize your time in the park. And take your time eating.

Disney World Launches $6500 50th Anniversary Vip Tour

Walt Disney World has announced a limited-time 50th Anniversary VIP Tour. The tour, which costs $6,500, will take guests through the history of the Walt Disney World Resort as well as into Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. Unlike a normal VIP Tour where you would be able to ride just about anything youd like, this tour is more of a curated offering that takes you along a predetermined route.

Heres a rundown of the offerings:

Reasons To Take A Disney Vip Tour

Review: Walt Disney World VIP Tour at Magic Kingdom

As much as I marvel at the wonder of Disney, I am not a fan of crowds and lines. So when I was on a press trip to Disney and had a chance to take one of the Disney VIP tours, I was really curious how a Disney VIP tour worked and if it was worth what the average family would pay.

Taking a Disney VIP tour was eye opening! As much as I loved being treated like a VIP and jumping into the Fast Pass lane on every ride, I also found a few downsides. While the experience was very special, I also had mixed feelings afterward, so I wanted to share both the pros and the cons.

Ill also break down the difference between an official Disney World VIP tour and a private VIP tour of Disney from a third-party guiding service.

My Disney VIP tour was hosted by Disney as part of a press trip with Visit Florida. This post contains affiliate links. If you click a link and make a purchase I may receive a small commission. All opinions are my own.

You Have Limited Time

If you have limited time to spend in the parks, the best way to maximize that time, especially if you arent a Disney planning pro, is to have a VIP tour. Your guide will talk to you about your must dos and understand the types of rides and attractions you like best.

For example, are you a thrill seeker or thrill avoider? They can also take into account the ages and sizes of any children in your party to focus on the rides that everyone can enjoy. Maybe you just want to focus on Magic Kingdom or perhaps you want to maximize your family vacation and hit all four parks the private guides can make it happen.

Disney VIP guides can zip you in and out of attractions and parks in the most efficient ways possible with minimal time spent waiting in line. In seven hours, we hit three of the four parks.

We were able to squeeze in the brand-new Soarin ride in Epcot Star Wars Launch Bay in Disneys Hollywood Studios, The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and still spend a few hours enjoying a gourmet dinner, Jungle Book Show, and multiple rides on Expedition Everest.

The Perks Of A True Disney World Expert

They were, of course, many moments where our guideâs park knowledge surpassed my own, and I loved it. On the Buzz Lightyear ride, weâre playfully competitive shooting lasers at Zurgâs various targets.

She sat with me and showed me where to shoot my laser gun. By the time we had gone through the first room, she had maxed out the score at 999,999. Sit on the left side. Now I know. Lots of little insider tricks of hers made the rides more fun.

After we finished our day with our guide, we pulled into the Four Seasons Orlando, my daughter gave our a big hug, and I was so grateful to experience Magic Kingdom in a way that felt like a real vacation for me.

Express Service Without A Vip Tour

Even if a private VIP tour isnt on the radar for your next trip, there are ways to replicate some elements of the tour at a much lower price. First, if you can handle the early morning wake-up call, consider Extra Magic Mornings, which can speed you on select rides in the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios for about $79 per person.

Disney also offers group VIP tours with behind-the-scenes access, knowledgable guides and walk-on rides from a couple hundred dollars per person.

Finally, Disney World lets all guests pre-reserve three FastPass+ attractions per day for no additional fee. With advance planning, you can have a very short wait for a few key attractions, and then continue getting additional FastPass+ attractions throughout the day using the Disney app after you use your original three. If you have the budget for Club Level access at at Disney Resort, you can purchase three extra FastPass+ reservations at a cost of $50 per person, per day on stays of three nights or longer. You can book these FastPass+ rides 90 days in advance, so they are extremely useful in getting quick access to popular rides.

Our DISNEY VIP TOUR Experience And A Magic Kingdom PROPOSAL!

Parking for Disney VIP Tours at Magic Kingdom is nothing short of amazing. In fact, the moment Roy parked the car, we all knew it was going to be an amazing day.

We parked literal steps from Tomorrowland, left anything in the car we didnt want to take with us and stepped into the Magic Kingdom. Roy knew we had quite a to do list for the day and asked about our walking speed and desired pace.

After the Nerd assured him our goal was to pack in as much as possible for the day, he lead the way at a brisk pace.

The Disney VIP Tour Guides are terrific.

They will take the reins and lead the way. If you want to chat with them , they are happy to answer all of your questions. If you want to let them lead while you hang back with your group, they are fine with that. They truly go out of their way to help you accomplish your goals for the day.

Potty stop? No problem.

Hungry? Just say the word.

Our first attraction was Space Mountain where we used the FastPass+ queue to access the attraction. Roy escorted us all the way to the ride and had a great time!

We scanned our MagicBand to secure our attraction photo via Memory Maker, browsed the gift shop for a bit and found Roy just outside waiting for us.

Next, we were off to Fantasyland and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The socially distanced line was already more than halfway around the mountain, but Roy walked us to the attractions entrance where we were scanned into the FastPass+ line for a 5 minute wait.

Not so fast!

So far, so good.
