Disney World Theme Park Parking Fees

Parking At Disney Resorts

Walt Disney World theme parks to close through the end of March

One great way to save money when flying into MCO Orlando International Airport is to take Disneys Magical Express or ride-share services to your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel. Youll avoid the hefty tiered fees counted nightly with overnight self-parking or the valet services available at select Resort Hotels.

Standard overnight self-parking is available to registered Guests for a fee that will be applied to your hotel folio at check-out. Parking fees DO include tax, which is nice, but at the cheapest value hotels, overnight parking is $15 per night. Disney Moderate Resorts have a disney resort parking fee of $20 per night, which each Disney Deluxe Resort and Villa has a $25 per night charge.

Complimentary standard parking is available to overnight Guests staying at the Campsites at Disneys Fort Wilderness Resort. Staying here allows for one vehicle per campsite at no charge, so this is a great way to save on Resort Parking if you prefer this type of stay. Note that the cabins will have a $20 per night charge for parking.

You will also NOT pay for parking if you are a DVC member staying at a DVC property or Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, regardless of whether you are using vacation points or another form of payment! If you are a DVC Member who is not using points for your vacation, you will be charged for standard overnight parking. Try to use your points wisely and avoid those parking fees!

Tip : Pack Food And Drinks

One hot dog, an ice cream and a coke costs around $20 at Walt Disney World. While Disney’s critics frown upon admission pricing, they can applaud the lenient policy for snacks. I once saw a family rolling around a massive, 4-foot cooler. It was totally acceptable. Alcohol is not allowed, but bring as much food and as many drinks as you’d like. In the hot, summer months, bringing some ice and bottled water is smart planning. And as a bonus, you avoid the lines for food.

Disney World Parking Cost

Our next area of Disney World parking takes a look at the theme parks. The daily parking fees for all four of the Disney parks are as follows:

  • Preferred Parking
  • Standard Parking

After you pay for parking, it is good for the entire day at any of the Disney theme parks. So if you were to park at Animal Kingdom in the morning and then park hop to Magic Kingdom for fireworks, show your receipt to park again at Magic Kingdom.

Additionally, guests of the Disney Resort hotels can upgrade to preferred parking. You do this by paying the difference in cost between your included parking and the going rate for preferred parking.

Unless you have some reason you need to be at your car quickly, I wouldnt recommend doing preferred parking. Its an outrageous cost to potentially be a few rows closer to the entrance.

And its important to know that when parking at Magic Kingdom, you still wont be able to reach your car quickly.

The Magic Kingdom parking lot is actually called the Transportation and Ticket Center. When you park in this lot, youll walk to the Transportation and Ticket Center. There youll have a few choices. You can board one of the three different monorails, take the ferry to Magic Kingdom, or catch a bus to Magic Kingdom.

In most cases, guests of the Disney Resorts will want to take a bus from their resort to Magic Kingdom. Those buses drop off on the other side of the lake within a few steps of the theme park.

Where You Can Park For Free At Disney World

If youre headed to the Disney theme parks but are not staying at a Disney Resort, there are other ways to achieve free parking for your vehicle. While it may take a little bit more time, these ideas will keep some money in your pocket and offer you an excuse to check out other areas of Disney World that you may have not yet explored. We dont recommend these options unless time doesnt matter to you. Remember, you paid a lot for your park tickets and want to spend as much time as possible in the park, not waiting for buses and transfers. Also, if you still think this is an option for you, make sure to investigate exactly what connections and where you will catch them to get to your end destination, especially if you arent familiar with Disney property.

Your Guide To Parking Fees At Walt Disney World

Over the past few months, Disney has made a few important changes worth noting for those planning on driving a car to Walt Disney World. Whether youre staying onsite at one of Walt Disney Worlds amazing resorts or opting to stay off-site and drive in each day, parking fees can add quite a bit to your Disney budget. To help you plan ahead, heres everything you need to know about parking at Disney.

Parking Fees for those staying onsite Historically, free onsite parking has been one of the major perks for those choosing to stay onsite at a Walt Disney World resort. Sadly, this changed earlier this year with the announcement that Disney would begin charging resort guests nightly for parking. The fees are based on the category of resort you are staying in and look like this:

  • Value Resorts $13 per night
  • Moderate Resorts $19 per night
  • Deluxe Resorts $24 per night
  • Valet Park- $33 per night

But I booked my package last year and was told nothing about parking will I still have to pay? No. anyone who booked in their Walt Disney World vacation package before March 21, 2018, will not be required to pay the fee.

We are going to be bringing more than one car with us. Is the rate per room or per car? The rate is per car. If you are going to have two cars under the same reservation than that will double the nightly fee.

Parking at Disneys theme-parks remains free for guests staying onsite at a Walt Disney World Resort.

How Much Does It Cost To Park At Disney World

When you approach the theme park gates at Disney, youll notice three different options for parking fees.

1. Standard Parking: Car or Motorcycle $25 per day

Standard parking at the Disney Parks may require you to be parked a little ways back from the gate. Dont worry, there are trams that can take you to the front area of the park at no additional fee.

Hipster Power Tip: Remember that the Magic Kingdom is the busiest theme park in the world so be sure to get there an hour and a half before to the gates open.

This may seem radical, but if youre parking you have to take into consideration:

  • Finding a parking space.
  • Getting on the tram to the transportation ticket center.
  • Taking the monorail or boat over to the Magic Kingdom gates. There can be a very long line to get on the monorail or the boat.
  • Getting through the ticket turnstiles. This may take a while due to new security safety measures of having your bags checked.

2. Preferred Parking: Car or Motorcycle $45 to $50 per day

This area is located the closest to the park front gates. Disney Cast Members will also give you a bottle of water when you choose this option.

Keep in mind that the prices for Preferred Parking do vary based on the season that you visit.

3. Oversized Vehicle Parking: Shuttle, Limo, Camper Trailer, RV, Bus or Tractor Trailer $30 per day

This is a Disney parking fee that you will pay if you plan on parking one of these vehicles on property.

What About Valet Parking At The Resorts

Valet parking is available at the Grand Floridian, Polynesian Village, Contemporary, Yacht Club, Beach Club, BoardWalk, Wilderness Lodge, and Animal Kingdom Lodge Resorts.

The valet parking fee at Walt Disney World Deluxe Resorts is $33 . Once paid, however, you can use valet parking for the entire day at any Resort that offers it without paying the fee again. Show the days valet receipt at the next Resort to avoid being charged again.

Tables in Wonderland Members may valet park free of charge when dining at any Disney Resort offering this service. Let the valet know you are parking with Tables in Wonderland. Upon return, show your card AND the receipt from the restaurant where you used the Tables in Wonderland card. Note: You may have to surrender the receipt to the valet, so be sure to ask your server for a duplicate copy if you need to retain one.

Valet parking is free of charge to all vehicles displaying a disabilities tag at Disney facilities offering valet service. Note: This does not apply at the Swan and Dolphin.

Valet parking at the Swan and Dolphin hotels is $33 + tax. If you are dining at one of the signature restaurants at the Swan and Dolphin request a validation from the hostess stand. Note: Valet parking at the Swan and Dolphin is not reciprocal with the Disney-owned Resorts. Disney Resorts valet receipts will not be honored by the Swan and Dolphin or vice versa.
