Best Times To Visit Walt Disney World Based On The Weather
There are a ton of things to consider when deciding when to visit Walt Disney World. Everything from work and school schedules to crowd levels can impact when you plan your trip, but the weather is an important consideration when deciding the best time to visit Disney.
When you think of Florida, you think of warm, sunny days, and that is true of Florida weather very often. It is called the Sunshine State! However, there are times of the year when that beautiful sunshine is sweltering! And, believe it or not, there are some times downright chilly! Check out this information on weather at different times of the year, and how that can impact your vacation plans.
Average Low: 48
Average High: 72
The chilly weather may mean you need a jacket, but you should not be sweating while wandering the parks. The cooler temperatures make it easier to stay in the parks longer, as they are less draining than intense heat. Many water attractions, like Splash Mountain, may be closed for refurbishments during this time of year due to the cooler temperatures. Typically, only one of the water parks will be open through the winter months. It is occasionally possible to swim despite the cool weather because all of Disneys pools are heated.

Seaworld Orlando February Packing List
- A water bottle! Stay hydrated and bring some extra water bottles. Its hot and its easy to but them in the park, but it they can be a little pricey.
- Swimsuit or change of clothes: No sense riding back in soggy clothes.
- A towel : This particularly applies to most parks, unless you plan to go where you are sure that you wont get wet.
- A bag of snacks: Even if you bring your lunch in the park, bring your own snacks also. Itll save you money and you dont want to get stuck in the middle of a line when the munchies hit you or your kids.
- A stroller: There is a lot of walking involved when visiting the theme parks and as parents our arms sometimes arent that strong. Plus, when a little one is worn out, a little nap can help them recharge. Wagons may not be allowed so you may need to check to see what is acceptable within each park. Strollers are available to rent at most parks.
Whether youre coming for business or leisure, February is a great time to visit Orlando as theres little rain and temperatures are pleasantly warm. The crowds during February are also low and you can expect a variety of fun events.
Disney World Is It Swimming Weather In Feb
I was thinking of going to Disney World sometime say Feb or March.
I live in New Jersey and like to get away from the cold weather.
Just not sure if it will be warm enough to go on the beaches/pools that they have.
I have not been to Disney sicnce I was 13. And now I’m 44. lol Been a long time.
Taking Hubby and our 16 year old Daughter. and suggestions…
Only if pools are heated – some are, depends on where you stay. Beach water will be too cold.
do you know what months are beach/pool weather and not to crowded time of the year?
Also the month of May.
I meant to say September, October and November are beach/pool weather months that ARE NOT crowded, along with May.
You’re coming from the North, what’s cold to Floridians may not be cold to you :). We visited 2 February’s ago and had 80 degree weather. It was fine to lay out on the beaches, although, you’d only want to wade in the Gulf. The pools were great. We stayed at SOG which has heated pools, but like I said, you’re coming from a cold climate….
Attendance in February was VERY LIGHT!! We didn’t even have to get off some of the rides and walked on to the Kali River Rapids.
Unless your staying at a dive hotel just about every pool is going to be heated.
Last year in early February, much of the week it was a bit cool lows in low 40’s. As said before, most resorts will heat their pools, and the Swan & Dolphin will definitely be heated.

Orlando Weather Will Likely Allow For A Swim Or Two
Its common for people coming from far away to assume that temperatures ranging in the 60s and 70s wont allow for swimming but this isnt generally true. If your Orlando vacation involves staying at an Orlando hotel, or vacation home rental then its likely the property youll at has a pool. Its also likely that the pool will be heated. Even if its not, its likely there will be a hot tub. If you like to swim in the morning or take a hot tub at night, bring your bathing suit and whatever else youll need to enjoy the water.

The average high in Orlando in January is 71°F and the average low is 52°F.
Thats an average high of 22°C and 11°C.
You can expect cool but mild weather in January with the occasional cold snap. And yes, there are flowers blooming in Florida even in January!
Youll definitely want to be prepared for potentially cold temperatures at night. It is common that the temperature drops into the 40s at night which means youll really need to bundle up.
This past January we had to buy a blanket for my daughter and an warm hat for me because we werent prepared for the chilly temps once the sun set!
So I suggest bringing a warm coat and a hat for your January trip to Disney World.
You may also get high temperatures in the mid 70s, so dont leave your bathing suit at home. Disney World pools are open year round and heated to about 84°F so its possible to get to swim even in January, though those days arent super common.
While it may rain some in January, it is less common than other times of year. The average number of rainy days in January is 5 days. It also is one of the least humid months of the year.

Are There Special Events In February At Disney World To Consider
Yes, there are some special events at Disney World in February to consider when planning your next trip. Epcot International Festival of the Arts is a fantastic festival honoring the culinary, visual and performance arts. This festival typically runs from mid-January to the middle of February. If you love new and innovative dining options, Broadway performances, amazing artistry, you will want to plan your vacation during this festival.
My favorites during the Epcot International Festival of the Arts include watching the animators at Animation Academy, checking out the chalk art displays, and taking in the Disney Broadway singers. If you have little ones, this is also the perfect day to let them experience a Broadway style concert in a short amount of time. The outdoor venue and the shorter duration makes it a perfect experience for little ones that arent yet able to sit through an entire Broadway performance. The visual artist performances are also completely magical.
Super Bowl Sunday and Valentines Day fall right in the middle of February. You can find venues throughout Disney to watch the big game and, of course, plenty of fantastic dining options for a romantic dinner out with your loves.
Presidents Day weekend is often a busy weekend around Disney World, with many U.S. schools having a long weekend. If you plan to visit this weekend, be sure to make advanced dining reservations and have some touring strategies in place.
Disney World Weather In May
Things start to heat up in Orlando in May. You might surprised by how hot and humid it can get, especially towards the end of the month!
The average high temperature for May is 87°F and the average low is 69°F.
Thats 31°C for the high and 21°C for the low.
That said, it is very common to see highs climb into the 90s by the end of the month. And the humidity really starts to increase.
If you are from the Northeast, Midwest, or Western US you will be likely be shocked by the humidity in Orlando in May!
Plan to dress for summer tank tops, t-shirts and shorts are the main clothing items youll need.
It will likely be quite hot in the theme parks, so plan to wear lightweight clothing. There are water play areas for kids in most of the parks, so bring a change of clothes or a swimsuit to the parks for the little ones .
Youll get great swimming weather in May, so bring your suits.
The number of rainy days starts to climb in May, with an average of 8 rainy days per month.
Heres what youll want to pack to be prepared for Disney World weather in May:

Cost Cheapest Time To Go To Disney World
When is the Cheapest Time to go to Disney World?
Generally speaking, the cheapest time to go to Disney World is when the park is least crowded. This is often over the winter months and other slow times of the year and during weekdays. Disney World often runs special promotions and discounted vacation packages during these slow times in an effort to entice more visitors. The most expensive time to visit Disney World is over the warmer-weather months, and during school vacation weeks, holiday weeks, and weekends, or when Disney is hosting a popular event or festival.
Disney Single-Day Theme Park Tickets
The cost of a Disney World vacation fluctuates throughout the year. As far as nightly Disney World Resort pricing goes, the hotel rates increase during peak periods and decrease during the slower, off-peak times of the year. This hotel pricing policy has been in effect for years now. But Disney has recently instituted a surge pricing model for its single-day theme park ticket as well.
Disney World Theme Park Ticket Tiers
Disney now offers three tiers of single-day theme park tickets: value, regular, and peak days. One-day tickets are given a category based on the expected crowds for that day. Ticket prices also vary based on each theme park.
Progressively Cheaper Rates on Multi-Day Theme Park Tickets
Multi-day theme park tickets work differently than do single-day tickets. With multi-day tickets, the more days you purchase, the less you will pay per day.
Disney World Events In February
ESPN Wide World of Sports hosts several athletic events in February. This could at least partly explain the surge of crowd in recent years, and you might have trouble finding space at the All-Star hotels the weekends these events are in town.
At Epcot, the bulk of February is spent celebrating Epcot International Festival of the Arts. This is a newer festival, but a tremendously fun one with a variety of artistic activities available. The 2022 festival will be held January 14, 2022 to February 21, 2022. You can view the Epcot Festival Calendar here.
Near the middle of the month is Presidents Day , this Monday holiday will bring increased crowds Friday through Tuesday . Presidents Day is basically a major holiday at Walt Disney World in terms of crowds , and we advise avoiding this weekend.
The Disney Princess Half Marathon is currently scheduled for As discussed in the post, race weekends tend to bring crowds down a bit. The half marathon weekends also shouldnt significantly impact touring, though we admittedly have never paid much attention when weve visited during these weekends.

When To Visit Walt Disney World For Families And Kids
The Prince Charming Regal Carrousel is a must-do for a childs first visit!
To maximize the fun for children, I recommend visiting Walt Disney World during one of the low seasons. Families can spend less time waiting in lines and therefore enjoy more attractions during their visit.
Some of these low periods include:
Since many children cannot miss school for a vacation, the next best time to visit Disney World for families would be on a long holiday weekend. These weekends bring in crowds, but it will not be as bad as the summer or winter holidays.
Pro Tip: If you have some extra time during your trip, head outside of the resort and check out some of the fun stuff to do in Orlando with your family.
Universal Orlando Volcano Bay
Volcano Bay is a giant theme park located in Universal Orlando. Its centerpiece is a 200 meter high volcano, which includes the waterway of the Krakatau Aqua Coaster. Other points of interest include the worlds most frightening speed slides, Family slides, a versatile wave pool, body and tube slides. All guests receive a free or complimentary Tapu Tapu portable device, which eliminates the lines of attraction. Volcano Bay requires a separate entrance pass to theme parks. It is open all year round.
