Which Disney Parks Have The Skyliner

Later, will discuss the various resorts and routes the Skyliners takes but lets start with the parks that have Disney Skyliner stops.

Epcot is on the Skyliner route. It leaves you at the back entrance which usually has less traffic than the front.

Disneys Hollywood Studios is also part of the Disney Skyliner route. It lets you off near the bus station which is in front of the park.

The Skyliner changes the game for park hopping. You can now get to Epcot from Hollywood Studios in less than half the time. And in addition, you can go from Epcot to Magic Kingdom using the monorail system. This removes the need of getting on a Disney bus!

Foodie Guide To 50th Anniversary Celebration Sips And Bites

by Karen McClintock, Food & Beverage Content Relations Manager, Walt Disney Parks and Resorts

The magic is calling all Foodies to the Walt Disney World Resort 50th anniversary celebration The Worlds Most Magical Celebration! Throughout our four theme parks and beyond, Disney chefs and mixologists have created more than 150 sips and bites full of color, whimsy, and a touch of EARidescent shimmer with even more coming throughout the 18-month celebration beginning Oct. 1.

Walts personal recipes, Walt Disney World Resort attractions , beloved Disney Characters, and nostalgic dishes from 1971 were inspirations for the tasty offerings created for this anniversary celebration.

Walts palate was relatively simple definitely a meat and potatoes guy! Roast lamb, roast beef hash topped with a fried egg, chili, and fried chicken were his favorites, along with lemon, apple, chocolate, and bread pudding desserts. Disney chefs looked to Walts recipes from the archives while planning for the 50th anniversary celebration. The result is deliciously reimagined versions of Walts favorites. And many of the treats are infused with EARidescent shimmers to add glimmering touches to the celebratory creations.

I am highlighting just a sampling of the limited-time sips and bites in this Foodie Guide, but we have created a complete online guide for you to view the more than 150 fantastic menu items!

Disney transportation map! : WaltDisneyWorld

The monorail system at Disney is made up of three separate lines: the Epcot line, the Express line, and the Resort line. Regardless of their final destination, all three lines run in a continuous loop. The Epcot monorail travels continuously between the park and the Transportation and Ticket Center . The Express line travels directly between the TTC and Magic Kingdom.

The Resort line runs in a continuous loop and has five stops:

  • Disneys Contemporary Resort

Walking At Disney World

Sometimes the best transportation at Disney is no transportation at all! Even though Walt Disney World is large, certain parks and hotels are nevertheless very much within walking distance of one another. When transportation lines are long and the weather isnt too hot, it might be quicker and more pleasant to walk to your destination.

A few common walking-distance connections to make:

  • Contemporary Resort to the Magic Kingdom
  • COMING SOON: Grand Floridian to the Magic Kingdom
  • Grand Floridian to the Polynesian
  • Disneys Beach & Yacht Club or Boardwalk to Epcots World Showcase entrance
  • Swan & Dolphin or Boardwalk to Hollywood Studios
  • Polynesian to the Transportation and Ticket Center

Maps Of Disney World Value Resorts

Disney World has 3 tiers of resort hotels and these categories are based on price and amenities. The 3 tiers are Disney Value Resorts, Disney Moderate Resorts, and Disney Deluxe Resorts.

If we compare the Disney World resort hotels, the major differentiator of Value Resorts is that theyre the least expensive tier of in-park hotels. There are currently 5 distinct resorts to choose from. All are family-friendly, and the 3 All-Star resorts are typically the least expensive hotels at WDW.

Best Hotel For Transportation

If you wont have a car at Walt Disney World, the first time you should think about transportation is before you book a hotel. There is no one best hotel for transportation to all of the Walt Disney World parks, but here are a few factors that you should consider in your booking decision:

  • Whether the hotel has non-bus transportation to a park
  • Distance from the hotel to each park
  • Whether the hotel has an internal bus system
  • Whether the hotel shares buses with another hotel

Non-Bus Transportation Hotels with non-bus transportation to the parks earn bonus points because buses are, generally, less efficient than non-bus transportation. Monorails provide transportation to Magic Kingdom and Epcot boats provide transportation to Epcot and Disneys Hollywood Studios Disneys Animal Kingdom is accessible only via bus.

Hotels on the monorail loop are Grand Floridian, Contemporary, and Polynesian Village Resorts. Each of those hotels also has boat service to the Magic Kingdom, as do Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Campground.

Additionally, all monorail loop hotels are also within walking distance of Magic Kingdom.

This used to just be true for Disneys Contemporary Resort, but a new bridge is now open that connects the Grand Floridian and Polynesian Village Resort to Magic Kingdom. Signage is still being added as of 2021 to make this path easier to find, but you can always ask a Cast Member if you dont see it.

Transportation Changes At Disney World During Covid

Disney World is still offering complimentary transportation options for guests with some modifications to accommodate social distancing and enhance safety measures such as:

  • Transportation is operating with physical distancing measures in place, including in the load zones and queues, as well as aboard buses, monorails and watercraft boats.
  • Face coverings are required at all times while boarding and using Walt Disney World transportation.
  • The Disney Skyliner will load one party per gondola.
  • Physical barriers in select places where it is difficult to maintain strict physical distancing guidelines, such as partitions inside our buses and monorails.
  • Minnie Van Service is temporarily unavailable.
  • Self-parking is available. Valet service is temporarily unavailable, with the exception of Guests with disabilities who may require parking assistance.

New Update: Disney World has also sadly announced the ending of Disney’s Magical Express beginning Jan. 1st 2022 making this year the last year for on-site resort hotel guests to use this transportation to/from their resort hotel and the airport. We will greatly miss this experience but we will be ready to provide you with alternate tips on airport transportation when this service ends.

How To Get Around Disney By Disney Skyliner

Coming soon, a whole new complimentary transportation system called Disney Skyliner will give guests a birds-eye view of Walt Disney World Resort from gondolas as they travel between their Disney resort hotels and the Epcot and Hollywood Studios theme parks.

Select Disney Skyliner cabins will have iconic Disney characters incorporated into their exterior design to give the appearance that a Disney pal is riding along with guests. The Epcot station will reflect the flavor of the park’s European Pavilions, with metal and glass canopies, hand-painted murals and ornamental steel structures that harken back to the early 18th century Art Nouveau style.

Ridesharing Around Disney Property

First ride in Uber Car Seat Orlando Mickey ears optional!

For the convenience of a car without the cost or parking hassles, consider letting someone else do the driving at Disney. Taxis have long been ubiquitous on Disney property, but ridesharing services like Uber and Lyft have taken Orlando by storm the past few years. Get the apps on your smartphone and add your credit card before your trip.

If you have a young child of car seat age, families can still use ride-sharing services safely in Orlando even when venturing off-property. Uber began offering its Uber Car Seat service in Orlando in early 2016. This option provides one convertible car seat rental with your car for a small extra fee . The seat types vary but are usually most appropriate for toddlers. Availability isnt always guaranteed so be sure to leave extra time if you want to use this service at peak times or very late at night or early morning.

Guests who have visited Walt Disney World might be familiar with Disneys Minnie Van service which operated on the Lyft app but was driven by Disney cast members. Sadly, Minnie Vans have been retired permanently in 2020.

Current 2020/2021 Differences: Ridesharing services like Uber and Lyft require masks of all passengers and drivers can refuse service to anyone who does not comply. Many drivers will keep windows down to improve safety and airflow.
