Using My Disney Experience At The Theme Parks
The fun features continue once you’re in the theme parks! Toward the bottom of your home screen, you’ll find the daily park hours, park hopping hours and showtimes for the day for each park. You can even add showtimes to your itinerary!
Hop back to that map in the app. You can use that same filter you’ve used previously to find attractions, wait times, entertainment, PhotoPass stops , restrooms, Guest Services, shops and transportation . Not only can you see where these services and amenities are on the map, but you can also get directions to these locales based on where you’re currently at. Note that the Guest Services icon actually includes much more than the locations where you can find the Guest Experience Team. The Guest Services filter also includes the locations of AEDs, service animal relief areas, hearing disability services, visual disability services, ATMs, package pickup, rider switch, portable phone charging system kiosks, coin press machines and more.
In addition to Lightning Lane and Genie+, if you are utilizing Disney Disability Access Service or Rider Switch, you’ll find information about your service’s return times in the app, as well. Soon, guests will be able to reserve DAS return times straight from the app! The My Disney Experience app is also how you can join a virtual queue for certain attractions, such as Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in EPCOT. Check out our full virtual queues at Disney World guide for more information!
What Is Disney’s Memory Maker Program
You know all of those Disney World photographers parked in front of Cinderella’s Castle or other iconic locations in the parks as well as at every character greeting spot? You can view the photos they take and make a la carte purchases of the images using Disney’s PhotoPass program. Or, you could sign up for the Memory Maker program and get access to all of the photos.
Part of MyMagic+, guests who purchase Memory Maker can take as many photos with Disney’s photographers as they wish during their visit to the resort and are able to download all of them, as well as any on-ride photos. If you buy the program in advance of your visit, Disney offers a discount.

OK, confession time. While we feel like we are My Disney Experience pros by now, there is one little technological trick that left Leap and me scratching our heads: QR codes. You’ll find that digital menus and guides can be accessed by the app, or by scanning a QR code. But how exactly do you scan a QR code? All you have to do is open your smartphone’s camera to scan the code and a notification should pop up for you to tap to access the information in My Disney Experience.
Believe it or not, this is only scratching the surface of My Disney Experience’s capabilities! What questions do you have about My Disney Experience? What tips or tricks do you have to share? Be sure to share with us in the comments below!

Youll Need To Prepare For Your Next Meal In Advance
Mobile Ordering has taken over Disney World as the way to secure your next meal from Quick Service restaurants both in the parks and resorts. In many cases, Mobile Order is essentially required to get your meal. But, if youre traveling during a particularly busy time of the year, or just planning to eat at a popular spot or during a popular time, you might pull up the My Disney Experience app during your trip and find that the next Mobile Order pick-up window isnt for another hour or more.
Mobile order your food early!
You CAN avoid this though! If you already know where youre going to eat and what youre going to order, you can place your order earlier in the day via Mobile Order and set your pick-up time to be whenever youd like. If you plan ahead and place that order early, youll be able to make sure that your food is ready when you are and youll have a greater selection of pick-up times. This can help you avoid the danger of having to deal with a HANGRY family member. Wait too long and Mobile Order pick up windows could start booking up for the time you want to eat, leaving you in a bad spot.
Rules And Information Are Constantly Changing
While the parks have been reopened for over a year now, Disney is still slowly making its way toward more normal operating procedures, so things are changing by the day . Weve seen restaurants and hotels reopening, new offerings announced for the 50th Anniversary, entertainment returning to the parks, and more. Theres almost always something new to keep up with.

Plus, even health and safety measures can be updated in the blink of an eye. Currently, face masks are required to be worn by all guests indoors and on most transportation, but even this policy has been updated since first being released and you never know when it might change again.
Those rules could changeeven during your trip!
It can be hard to keep up with all these changes if its not your day-to-day job like it is ours. Were always looking at the fine print when it comes to all the latest Disney announcements, so be sure that youre and are following us on social media so youre always up to date on all the latest!

Mobile Order With My Disney Experience
Not too long ago, if you wanted to order food from a quick service restaurant at Disney World, you would need to get in line, order, and wait for the food. Technology has now made this process easier and more convenient! At certain quick service locations, you can use your My Disney Experience app to mobile order food in advance or right when you decide youd like to eat.
The only issue with ordering right when you want food is the restaurant might not have the availability to make your food right away. So its definitely useful to be able to order food in advance if you already know what food youd like and when.
How to Mobile Order
To mobile order on the My Disney Experience app, click on the + button at the bottom of the screen. Choose the Order Food button. This will give you a list of all the places you can mobile order food from and their available times. If you are looking for a specific quick service restaurant, you can always search for it on the app and then click on the Order Food button under the restaurant name.
When you are ready to order food, pick the time that best suits your schedule. Then a menu list will pop up, and you can add and customize whatever food youd like to order. When you are ready to check out, you will need to add a credit card, debit card, gift card, or Disney Rewards card.

Mobile Checkout At Merchandise Locations
New features are often making their My Disney Experience debut! For instance, Mobile Checkout is a feature that is currently being tested and expanded at select shopping locations throughout Disney World through the app.

This option allows guests to grab a designated shopping bag, scan their chosen merchandise items, and even pay for their items, contact-free.
Its Likely Going To Cost More
Its no secret that Disney World can be pricey and between all of the recent price increases throughout the parks and resorts, your bill will likely end up being a bit more than it was for previous trips.
Weve seen increases on Annual Passes, merchandise, food, and even holiday parties. Though the range of ticket prices didnt increase for 2022, there are some days in 2022 that now fall into a higher ticket bracket, meaning a trip in 2022 for the same days you visited in 2021 might now cost more. In 2022 youll also need to plan to pay for transportation to and from the airport as Disneys Magical Express service has officially been discontinued.
If you want to skip the lines on popular attractions, youll also need to invest in Disney Genie+ and/or Individual Attraction Selections. Genie+ costs $15 per person per day, and the cost of Individual Attraction Selections can vary depending on the park, day, and ride .
Plus, those who want even more time in the parks will have to think about spending the extra money to book a room at a Disney Deluxe Resort or Deluxe Villa to get access to the new Extended Evening Hours perk.

How To Do Online Check In At Your Disney Resort
Youve spent all of this time planning and now you are finally here! Instead of going to the lobby and waiting in line to check in, how would you like to do online check in on your phone instead? This is easiest to do on the app, but you can do it on the website as well.
On the app or the website go to My Plans. There will be a button that says Start Check In Now. Once you check in, My Disney Experience will let you know if your room is ready or not. If it is, it will tell you your room number and you can head straight to it! You can then use your magic band or even your phone as your room key to enter.
To use your My Disney Experience app as a room key, click on the plans of your resort. Scroll down a little bit and there is a button that says Unlock Door. Once you click on this, hold your phone up to the scanner on the room door, and it should unlock for you!
