Disney World Grand Floridian Restaurants

Breakfast At Grand Floridian Caf At Disneys Grand Floridian Resort

Take a Tour of Disneys Grand Floridian Resort & Spa | Walt Disney World Resort

If theres anything were always to learn more about, its where to find the Best Breakfast Places at Walt Disney World. Mainly because a lot of our Disney Vacation experience is usually about food. We LOVE trying new restaurants, especially if it brings us to an amazing resort like the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. While we generally visit the Grand Floridian Resort at least once a trip, we had not yet eaten at the Grand Floridian Café and just had to try it.

There are a bunch of great restaurants at the Grand Floridian Resort. We love 1900 Park Fare for both breakfast and dinner with Cinderella, the Stepsisters, and the Evil Stepmother. And you can usually find us at the Enchanted Rose Lounge before any evening events at Magic Kingdom, just grabbing a quick bite. And if its available, we book the Afternoon Tea at the Garden View Lounge on almost every Disney Vacation we take. That said, we were excited to finally add the Grand Floridian Cafe to our Disney Restaurant Reviews.

How Has Disney Handled The Pandemic

Like most theme parks around the world, the Walt Disney Company – Get Walt Disney Company Report took a major blow during the protracted Covid-19 pandemic.

Disney World and Disneyland shut their doors in March 2020 and have been reopening gradually. Florida’s conservative leadership and lax laws meant that Disney World could reopen much earlier than Disneyland.

One way or the other, attendance at the 25 biggest parks in the country, which includes Disneyland, Disney World and Universal Studios, fell by 67% between 2019 and 2020, according to a report by the Themed Entertainment Association and AECOM.

With many tired of lockdowns and stay-at-home orders, it did not take long for attendance at Disney parks to start climbing back to pre-pandemic average spending at all the Disney parks also increased by 30% compared since 2019.

Eating At Disney Resort Hotel Restaurants During Covid

There are a few things to keep in mind when dining at Disney resort hotel restaurants during the pandemic. Access to the Disney World resorts is restricted and you absolutely must have an advance reservation to be able to enter. As capacity is currently restricted, reservations can be at a premium, so its even more crucial that you plan ahead.

While some Disney resort restaurants remain closed, most are back open and serving guests. Having said that, a modified dining experience is in place at many Disney World restaurants. In some cases, buffets have switched over to a limited menu served family-style. This is actually a change we dont mind, as the food gets to your table fresher. Disney character dining has also gone through a shakeup, with the princesses and Mickey Mouse being relegated to socially distanced waving or not making an appearance at all.

All that being said, as long as youre aware of the changes and adjust your expectations accordingly, its still a great time to enjoy the best Disney World restaurants the resorts have to offer.

Best Quick Service Restaurants At Disney World Hotels

While you probably wont seek out these Disney resort restaurants unless youre staying at the hotel or doing some resort hopping, these next quick service restaurants are great places to grab some food fast if you happen to be in the area:

Primo Piatto at Disneys Riviera Resort

Cost: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner $14.99 and under per adult

Type: Quick Service Restaurant

Cuisine: American

Primo Piatto at Disneys Riviera Resort technically dishes up American cuisine, but we prefer American with French and Italian flair. Quick service restaurant menus often tend to be pretty bland and uninspiring, but that isnt the case here. While you will find standard offerings like Mickey waffles and burgers, like the resorts other dining options, the flavors of the European Riviera are infused into many of the dishes here, making for a quick meal thats as delicious as it is affordable.

What to Get: Croque Madame, Blueberry-Lemon Pancakes, Croque Monsieur, Tuna Niçoise Salad

Sassagoula Floatworks & Food Factory at Disneys Port Orleans Resort French Quarter

Cost: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner $14.99 and under per adult

Type: Quick Service Restaurant

Cuisine: Cajun, Creole, American

What to Get: Mickey-shaped Beignets, Shrimp & Grits, Jambalaya

Sebatians Bistro Disney Caribbean Beach Resort

Sebatians Bistro is basically the less popular Caribbean cousin to Ohana. Its also half the price! Where Ohana is Polynesian food, Sebastians serves flavors from the Caribbean. Here you can try citrus chicken, mango sambal, mojo pork, and flank steak with mojito relish. We love how fruit is brought into flavor in almost every dish!

Storybook Dining At Artist Point With Snow White Disneys Wilderness Lodge

Sad, but true, there are not a lot of hard core Snow White fan, especially in comparison with other princesses or Disney fandoms. BUT even if youre not a huge Snow White fan, we totally recommend this character dining because it has something that the other character dining doesnt Amazing food!

Dont get us wrong, other character dining is good, but its not much different from restaurants that you would visit in your hometown with your kids. Storybook Dining is the exception! Food is fancy comfort food served all you care to enjoy tableside, and get this, even the food presentation is themed!

Shopping Recreation And Things To Do

Senses – A Disney Spa is Grand Floridian’s spa. Senses includes 15 treatment rooms offering a multitude of treatments and featuring Florida citrus and botanicals. A unique touch to this spa is that each treatment, or “Journey” as they call them, includes a small glass of a fruity elixir. Each Journey has its own flavored drink and this flavor carries through to the end of your Journey when you receive a very small gel that contains the same flavors. Guests are encouraged to book ahead, they may do so by calling 407-WDW-SPAS .

Senses Spa.

Senses also has a fitness center. It is open 24 hours a day but attendants are only available from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Watercraft Rentals are available for use in Seven Seas Lagoon 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Kayaks, sailboats, pedal boats, and Sea Raycers can be rented. Prices vary. All rentals can be purchased in a booth near the Sugarloaf Key and Conch Key buildings.

Grand Floridian has a number of gift shops. Including Sandy Cove. As you’d expect from a Disney gift shop, Sandy Cove has a decent collection of souvenirs ranging from small trinkets such as keychains and pens, to embroidered jackets and Disney princess dresses. Prices for these items are about what you’d pay in the theme parks or Disney Springs.

Walkers, joggers and runners can find a jogging trail. The trail is a 1-mile jogging path located near the Main Building. The trail starts at Grand Floridian and ends at the Polynesian Resort.

One of the great things about all of these restaurants is that you can dine at the Grand Floridian Resort without having a Disney World park ticket. This means that it is perfect for every visitor as well as Florida residents.

The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is just one of those destination hotels which is worth visiting to see whether or not you are a Disney parks fanatic. It is elegant, a symbol of luxury and decadence without having to be a huge fan of the mouse. There are some out of this world dining experiences even if you have no interest in visiting the Disney Parks.

Disneys Grand Floridian is the Disney World flagship hotel. If you want the very best it it here. However, unlike many 4 and 5 star resorts that I have stayed at, this one is welcoming and just has a very special feeling to it. Whether you are stopping by for a quick snack or one of the finest dining experiences of you life, you have to visit the Disney Grand Floridian Hotel.

Apparently Bob Chapek was not entirely happy with the flagship Grand Floridian and was concerned it was falling behind competition such as the Four Seasons. He therefore initiated some changes including the redesign of some of the restaurant space.

Whilst things may be delayed, or even abandoned for the foreseeable future, there are some changes going on at the Grand Floridian. We will keep you updated here.

California Grill Disneys Contemporary Resort

California Grill at the top of Disneys Contemporary Resort is a great place to get some fancy sushi and other Asian/Californian-style dishes. Okay, California isnt a cuisine, but here were using it to describe very fresh, very light, colorful, flavorful dishes that also have Asian inspiration.

This location is hands-down the best place to see the fireworks! You can also see them from Ohana, but if youre looking to watch the fireworks from a restaurant, you should be up high!

PRO TIP: You dont need to have the perfect reservation time to see the fireworks at California Grill. If you bring back your receipt from any time that day, you can watch the fireworks from the outside patio!

Primo Piatto Disneys Riviera Resort

Disney Grand Floridian Resort Dining

The Riviera Resort can feel so grand that at times it almost feels adult only with the fancy decor and fancier food, but Primo Piatto is definitely an approachable menu for families with sandwiches and flatbreads. Victoria & Alberts Reopening July 28

The famous Victoria & Alberts restaurant at Disneys Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is finally reopening on July 28, 2022, with reservations starting June 20, 2022.

Even though Victoria & Alberts has won the AAA Five Diamond Award every year since 2000, that doesnt mean theyve been resting on their laurels during the closure over the last couple of years. The menu has been enhanced and the space refreshed.

The newly reimagined dining room brings guests into a Victorian-styled setting with murals and wall coverings that showcase a timeless elegance and subtle inspirations of a whimsical garden.

Guests can still dine in the Main Dining Room, the private Queen Victorias Room, or the coveted Chefs Table with a front-row seat to some of the best culinary masterminds in the world.

The menu at Victoria & Alberts is always evolving and coming of the dishes you can expect to try on the Chefs Tasting Menu include Colorado Lamb with pickled blueberry and violet mustard and line-caught turbot with fennel fondue and Pernod beurre blanc. Those who enjoy the finest of beef can experience the Wagyu A-5 Miyazaki with sauce romesco and potato rösti. Chocolate lovers will revel in the Spectrum of Chocolate, an ombré featuring specialty sourced chocolates with accents of buttermilk, Grand Marnier, and vanilla.

Spyglass Grill Disneys Caribbean Beach Resort

This isnt a resort restaurant that you should go out of your way for, but the menu is priced similarly to the quick service restaurant, Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe in Magic Kingdom. If youre staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort and are hankering a burger or fish taco, you can get a great deal at Spyglass Grill. They also have excellent prices on breakfast! Remember, there arent a lot of great early morning food options in the parks!

Citricos At Disneys Grand Floridian

This fine dining restaurant is often overlooked when people are thinking of places to dine in Disney World. Citricos is definitely one of the lesser known restaurants in Walt Disney World.

It is one of the three Signature Dining Restaurants in the Grand Floridian. This means it is designated as a fine dining experience, and if you are on the Disney Dining Plan, it will require 2 credits to dine here.

Right now the future design and menu of Citricos is an unknown. It had been slated for a complete refurbishment to be finished in Summer 2020. However, as we all know, certain events have overtaken many Disney World projects including this one.

Citricos is yet to reopen but it was originally thought that it was going to be called Victoria and Alberts Bistro. As yet, there really arent any clues about whether this is still going to be the concept, but it seems highly likely.
