Cost To Go To Disney World
So how much does it cost to go to Disney World? I recommend a family of four budget $4,609 USD for a 4-day trip, but obviously, there are plenty of ways to reduce your costs without sacrificing the experience. You also obviously wont go all the way to Orlando just for four days, so your trip costs will be spread out.

How Much Does It Cost To Get From The Airport To Disney World
Orlando International airport is about 15 miles from Walt Disney World Resort. The good news is that its easy to get to your hotel, especially if youre staying on Disney property.
If youre flying into Orlando and staying at one of the Disney-owned hotels, then you are eligible for the complimentary shuttle transportation to and from the airport and Disney World. Simply add the complimentary Disney Magical Express bus service to your package and you will receive free shuttle transportation directly to your hotel.
If you are staying at a non-Disney hotel, then you will need to rent a car or use a rideshare or taxi service. Check with your hotel before you arrive.
Once in the park, all Disney transportation is completely free for everyone.
Annual pass holders get free parking, but if you arrive at a Disney theme park in your own car, then you will have to pay for parking. And if you are staying at a Disney resort but have your own vehicle, then you can expect to pay the following for parking:
- Disney Value resorts: $15 per night
- Disneys Moderate resorts: $20 per night
- Deluxe and Deluxe Villa resorts: $25 per night
Should you bring your own car, rent a car, or just use Disney Transportation?

How Many Part Are At Disneyland
Its divided into nine subareas, or lands, arranged around a central hub. First encountered is Main Street, U.S.A., which connects the Disneyland entrance with the central hub. How Much Will Disney World Hotels Cost
Unless you live nearby or get an Airbnb rental, you will need to stay at a hotel in or around Disney World.
The question then becomes, should you stay on-property at a Disney-owned hotel or should you save a few bucks and stay off-property?
One thing you should know is that non-Disney, off-property hotels are usually cheaper, but staying at one doesnt necessarily mean youll save money by so.
When you factor in the extra money youll spend on transportation, the extra time traveling to and from the theme parks every day, and missing out on Extra Magic Hours, free airport transportation, and the other perks Disney hotel guests receive, is it really worth it? We would argue no.
Walt Disney World has three tiers of on-property hotels: Value, Moderate, and Deluxe. As you may have guessed, Disney Value Resorts are the least expensive , Deluxe Resorts are the most expensive , and Disney Worlds Moderate Resorts are somewhere in the middle.
Disney Deluxe Resorts tend to be closer to the theme parks and have bigger rooms, and better pools and restaurants.
The rooms of Disney Value Resorts are smaller, transportation is mostly via bus , and the restaurants are more like food courts. That said, Value Resorts are great for families and budget-conscious travelers because they are affordable and situation you inside Disney World.
If you want an upgrade from Value but dont want to drop an arm and a leg, check out the Disney Moderate Resorts. They are really nice!
Choose Your Own Adventure
Want to do Buzz Lightyears Space Ranger Spin 10 times in a row? How about spending the day watching ducks wandering around Caseys Corner? Maybe stopping for 30 minutes to wait for the monorail to pass in Epcot so you can get that stellar photo youve always wanted.
One thing Ive learned through this blog is that different people get different things out of Walt Disney World. I can tell you that my ideal day is radically different than some others idea of a perfect day. When you travel solo, your vision of ideal is the day you get to have, no matter how odd that may seem to others.
I spent an entire day in Epcot by myself once, and literally did nothing besides watching Impressions de France , American Adventure, sitting on a bench listening to the Innoventions background music, and taking photos. So go ahead, stare at those ducks. Youve earned it.

Stay At A Deluxe Resort To Treat Yourself And Avoid The Crowds
My final suggestion for picking a Disney resort for your solo trip assumes that money is no option.
Maybe youre splurging on yourself for a special occasion or youve just gotten a big promotion.
Whatever it is, a solo trip is a perfect time to go to a Deluxe Resort.
Not only will you have an upscale environment and incredible theming, but youll also be in a bit more of an adult environment as opposed to being faced with lots of crowds of families and small children.
This is, of course, not to say that you will not encounter families and kids at a Deluxe Resort because you absolutely will this is the majority of Disneys clientele, after all.
Its just that these resorts cater even more to couple travellers on honeymoons and solo travelers wanting to live their best lives in the resort lounge, so you definitely wont feel out of place whether youre sitting on a rocking chair outside Wilderness Lodge or enjoying your lunch at the Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge while looking at the animals.
Dont Be Afraid To Socialize
Try not to be shy. I know it can be intimidating to introduce yourself to people. Its so easy to just stay to yourself.
I know firsthand what its like to be an introvert, but get out of your comfort zone and introduce yourself to at least one person on your solo Disney trip.
Get familiar with your social media community. There are lots of Facebook groups dedicated to Disney enthusiasts.
These groups usually have people in it who frequently travel to Disney parks solo. Theyre also places to get instant theme park news and the latest theme park hacks and tips.
Online Solo Traveler Groups
Your is another place to get to know others online.
is a great way to find other Disney World singles. There are multiple groups within the site for adults who love going to the parks alone.
I have personally used online groups throughout the years and have met some of my best friends on there.
Once these relationships are formed online, it makes it easier to meet singles at Disney World.

Dont Make Dining Reservations
Unless dining at a signature restaurant is imperative to you, avoid having a sit-down meal during your day at Disney World. On average, a table service meal can take up to two hours from the time you check in until you walk back out the door. Thats valuable ride time youd be spending! The only exception is breakfast. If you can get a breakfast reservation before the park opens to the public, that means you get to go in even earlier than the Rope Drop people!
Traveling Mom Tip:Avoid eating at peak dining times and you wont have to wait in long lines for food. Ideally, we like to eat breakfast at the hotel or on the way to the park. We wait to have a big lunch around 2 or 3 p.m. I usually bring a small soft-sided cooler into the parks with snacks, items for lunch, and bottled water. It is faster and cheaper. Heres how to save up to $50/day on snacks at Disney. We then splurge on a yummy quick service dining meal later in the evening.

Start Small With Solo Travel
Because this way of travel can be intimidating to Disney fans, I recommend easing into solo travel.
For example, try getting to one of the parks ahead of your group. If you guys plan to meet up at the Magic Kingdom around 10 a.m., then get to the park at 8 a.m. just to see if you feel comfortable conquering Disney alone.
You can be there for rope drop, plus you can knock out a few rides before meeting back up with your family.
This may just convince you to try a whole day of Disney on your own.

Factors That Will Determine How Much Money Will Your Disney World Trip Will Cost
A Walt Disney World family vacation is almost always a magical and memorable experience. But it can also be a significant expense.
How much it will cost depends on many factors, but it comes down to your particular situation and the decisions and compromises you make. Most families spend anywhere between $3,000 to $6,000 on a Disney World vacation, but how much costs will depend on how long you stay, where you stay, what dining plan you choose, car rentals, theme park tickets, souvenirs, and other such factors.
This Disney World vacation expense guide will cover the bases for you. So lets get started
All ticket prices mentioned below are accurate for Disney vacations in June 2020. This is subject to change.
Pack Lightly Or Have Purchases Sent To The Room
When youre traveling by yourself in Disney World, you want to have as much freedom to move around as possible, and that means not lugging a 10 foot Simba all around the parks with you.
Try and pack as lightly as possible with your day bag on coming into the park this will help when youre on rides or cant leave it with someone when you go into the bathrooms, etc.
If you do make purchase at the park and are staying on property, ask the cast members if they can get the items delivered to your resort.
This is no extra cost, and it means you can get your valuables and breakables and giant stuffed animal when youre back from the park rather than walking through with it.

Yes, planning a trip to Disney World on a budget is possible! Its never going to be the cheapest trip, but there are many ways you can save money on accommodation, transport, and food.
Weve been to Disney World in Orlando, Florida three times as adults. The first two visits we were on a tight budget and stayed in off-site motels and packed sandwiches.
On our last trip we had more to spend and stayed in Disney Worlds cheapest resort hotel and ate in the parks at a mix of fast food and table service restaurants.
They have all been wonderful experiences, and below I compare the costs of staying on-site vs off-site, explain step by step how to plan a Disney vacation on a budget, and give tips on how to save money on every aspect of your stay.

Arrive Early Stay Late
You only have 1 day at Disney World, so make the most of it! Plan to arrive at the parks as early as you can. Always factor in at least one hour to get to the parks. This is especially important if you are driving to the parks. If you can get your family going early in the morning, try to arrive an hour prior to the park opening. You might get to see the Opening Show and experience a Rope Drop.
Even better, make breakfast reservations inside the park Its the secret to early entry at Disney parks!
And if your family can keep going, stay as late as you can. The only way you will be able to get in a lot of rides in one day is to take advantage of how long the park is open. Try to arrange to be there on a day when the parks stay open late!

When Is A Park Hopper Not Worth The Money
You may not want to actually park hop, however. Why? Because it takes time to move from one park to another. It is easy to hop from EPCOT to Hollywood Studios because they are located right next to one another. But it takes much longer to hop from the Magic Kingdom to Animal Kingdom. A trip on board thefree Disney transportation can take 45 minutes or longer. Thats 45 minutes less time youll have in the parks.
Many people plan to use their hoppers to go to a water park to cool off after a hot day in the parks. As of early April 2021, Blizzard Beach is open but Typhoon Lagoon remains closed.
Change Dates To Value Season
Dates matter a bit for ticket pricing, and they matter a lot for hotel pricing. While there are some times of the year when flight prices are impacted by date, factors like day of the week and when you book are more likely to impact your flight price. If youre trying to find the least expensive dates to visit, youll want to check out the room rate tables from MouseSavers.
