How To Find Disney Park Hours
Knowing the hours of operation for each of the Disney Parks ahead of time is a great way to start planning your next Disney vacation. By seeing which parks have Extra Magic Hours on which days or when early closures go into effect for special events you can decide before you leave which park you will visit on which day of your trip. This also allows you to better plan your dining and Fastpass+ reservations.
Where can you find these park hours? There are four places you can look whether youre at home, on the go, or already at the Disney Parks. By utilizing all four during your planning and vacationing stages, youll be able to take advantage of every hour available to you.
4. Disney Websites
Whether staying at Disneyland or Walt Disney World, park hours can be found on either of their websites. Just visit https://disneyland.disney.go.com/calendars/park-hours or https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/calendars and pick the days youll be visiting the parks. Here youll not only find regular park hours, but information on which parks have Extra Magic Hours that day and if any attractions will be closed for refurbishments. Which Parks Are Open And When
Different from Early Theme Park Entry, Extra Extended Evening Hours is not in every park, and not every night of the week. Its similar to the old Extra Magic Hours with each park selected on certain nights.
- There are two participating Walt Disney World theme parks at this time: Magic Kingdom andEPCOT.
- Disneys MagicKingdom has Extended Evening Hours on Wednesdays, and EPCOT on Mondays.
- On those nights, those parks are open 2 hours later than the listed closing time.
So far on the schedule, the participating theme parks are:
- Disneys Magic Kingdomon Wednesdays, for 2 Hours after park closing time
Right now each of those parks is only selected once per week. Each park is open for an extra 2 hours which is a nice bonus for Deluxe Resort guests and lets you get all your favorite attractions done with greatly reduced wait times.
Check the Walt Disney World website for the latest schedules and times.

UPDATE: Disney has announced that Extra Magic Hours will be replaced by Early Theme Park Entry later this year. Disney Park Passes will still be needed for park entry. for more information.
Update: As of May 28, 2020, Disney has announced the suspension of Extra Magic Hours in its Parks for the time being. For more information, .
Extra Magic Hours, a program that allows Walt Disney World guests to visit a particular theme park or water park on a designated day beyond regularly scheduled operating hours, is offered to guests staying at:
Walt Disney World-owned resorts Walt Disney World Dolphin & Swan Resorts Shades of Green Four Seasons Resort Orlando
Morning Extra Magic Hour occurs one hour prior to regularly scheduled park opening. That means if the park is scheduled to open at 9AM to the general public, the Extra Magic Hour begins at 8AM. Transportation for the park offering Morning Extra Magic Hour will begin 30 minutes earlier than the opening time.
NOTE: You MUST use your MagicBand or the RFID card with your ticket at the parks turnstiles to take advantage of Extra Magic Hour.

Which Hotels Offer Extra Magic Hours
Guests staying at one of the above off-site hotels will need to present a valid resort ID when entering the park hosting EMH, while Disney Resort hotel guests will simply tap their MagicBand/RFID ticket at the park entrance to verify that they are staying on-site. Regular theme park admission is required.
By the way, we offer discounts on hotel rooms at all of these Orlando hotels and more, so you can get a hop on the savings!
Which Program Is Best
Unfortunately, Early Theme Park Entry does limit your time in the parks when compared to Extra Magic Hours. However, since ETPE has been effective at dispering crowds across the four theme parks, instead of congregating them at one, most guests have found ETPE to provide an extra boost to their day. Its the chance to get in 2 to 5 more rides before the bulk of the crowds arrive. That means fewer lines and lower waits if you plan strategically.

Who Can Use Disney World Early Entry
Just like Extra Magic Hours, Early Park Entry is exclusively for guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, including all those officially operated by Disney. To utilize this benefit once you get to the park, simply use your MagicBand, Key to the World Card or Disney MagicMobile Pass linked to a valid hotel reservation.
Since lines at the parks can get brutally long fast, its one powerful perk and a huge factor to consider when deciding where to stay at Disney World. Best of all, since the benefit extends to some of the third-party hotels near Disney World, too, you dont need to miss out on this valuable vacation boost if youd rather stay at the Disney military hotel or book somewhere using credit card or brand loyalty points.

Extra Magic Hours Schedule
While the exact times, days and theme parks are subject to change, we’ve found that Disney typically sticks to this Extra Magic Hours schedule:
- Sunday: Evening EMH at Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- Monday: Morning EMH at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
- Tuesday: Evening EMH at EPCOT
- Wednesday: Evening EMH at Magic Kingdom Park
- Thursday: Morning EMH at EPCOT
- Friday: Morning EMH at Magic Kingdom Park
- Saturday: Morning EMH at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Again, we advise that you double check the Extra Magic Hours schedule for the days during your trip. Special events, new attractions or peak times are the main reasons why Disney may switch up the schedule.

Thinking Point #1 Crowds
Disney has over 30,000 hotel rooms and no one goes to Disney World alone and there are 10 ‘Good Neighbor’ hotels with Extra Magic Hour benefits this means that the Extra Magic Hour park will very often be the most crowded park of the day. That may not be a big deal at non-peak times but it is a very big deal during holidays and other high crowd times like Spring Break or the height of summer travel. If youre going at during the busy season, you can probably enjoy more attractions in less time by going to a less crowded park. Exception: If you have Disney Park Hopper Tickets, you can enjoy a less crowded park during regular hours and then hop over to the Evening Extra Magic Hours park and enjoy the best of both worlds.

Early Theme Park Entry
Early Theme Park Entry is a perk offered to guests of Walt Disney World Resort hotels that allows guests access to the park 30 minutes before its scheduled open, every day.
Remember, you must be a guest of a hotel with Early Entry access to take advantage of this perk. You also must have a parks pass reservation for the day to use Early Entry.
What Were Extra Magic Hours
Whether youre a longtime Walt Disney World visitor or youre new to the parks, heres a quick rundown of Extra Magic Hours.
Pre-pandemic,Extra Magic Hourswere a benefit for Disney hotel guests that would allow them to have extra time in the theme parks in the morning or evening. Every day, a select park would open to Disney hotel guests one hour before the general public, and often, another theme park would offer extended hours in the evening. Disney would share the Extra Magic Hours schedule on the Walt Disney World website, in the My Disney Experience app, and even on the Disney Resort TV channel in your hotel room.
There were several ways to strategize your park visit based on Extra Magic Hours. For example, if you wanted to take advantage of some extra park time, then EMH was a great perk. But if you were after lower crowds, it was often a great idea to plan to visit the park that wasnt offering Extra Magic Hours. This, of course, was before the new era of theme park reservations, when spontaneity was much more accessible in a Disney World trip.

Early Morning Magic Toy Story Land
Early Morning Magic is a ticketed event that offers guests all-you-can-eat breakfast and access to the three Toy Story Land attractions before the park opens to regular guests. The event typically allows access to the park at 7:30AM on days with a 9AM open, and with breakfast served until 10AM.
Tickets are $79+tax for adults and $69+tax for children. You must also have regular park admission for the day in order to use Early Morning Magic. Early Morning Magic is not currently scheduled for future dates.
Planning Around After Hours And Extended Evening Hours
You dont specifically have to plan around After Hours or Extended Evening Hours because the park simply closes for guests who dont have access to that event. The only thing to be aware of is that nights with these offerings might involve the park closing earlier than other nights. To maximize your time in the parks, try to avoid being caught at a park that is closing earlier than normal.

Thinking Point #4 When Two Hours Is Really Just One Hour
Disney says that the Evening Extra Magic Hours are two hours but you really need to look at the park hours on either side of the Extra Magic hour day and sometimes youll find that the Magic Kingdom or Disneys Hollywood Studios will close an hour earlier to the general public so youre really only getting one hour more than you would get a day earlier or later. If youre only gaining one hour, are you better off going on a less crowded day? One extra hour with less people might be great when it isnt too late.

Thinking Point #5 When You Have To Choose Between Extra Magic Hours And Happily Ever After Fireworks At The Magic Kingdom
Check the Disney calendar because, during the lower seasons, Disney will sometimes eliminate the “Happily Ever After” Fireworks in the Magic Kingdom on days with Extra Magic Hours. The fireworks are pretty special and you may not want to miss them, especially if this is a once in a lifetime trip. You may want to hit the Magic Kingdom on a different day, especially if your trip falls at a time when the Extra Magic hours mean fewer regular park hours. This may not be an issue if you have two days allocated for the Magic Kingdom or have park hopper tickets and can catch the parade and Fireworks after visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which usually closes earlier.
