Take An Air Conditioning Break
The Food and Wine Festival in Epcot opens at 11 am every day and goes through the hottest part of the day. Since Disney World is located in sunny Florida, and the majority of the festival is outside you are going to need some breaks in between the snacks. This doesnt apply to just the Food and Wine Festival, but any visit to Walt Disney World.
Most of World Showcase is exposed to the sun and the Food and Wine Festival booths are not usually in a shaded area. That means finding an air-conditioned shop or attraction is crucial to cooling down and getting through the day.
Our favoriteFood & Wine Air-Conditioning Break Locations are:
- Mexico Gran Fiesta Tour: Usually a short line and the whole pavilion here is air-conditioned with a beautiful scenery.
- The American Adventure The American Adventure: This is a glorious 30-minute seated break, and youll even learn something about American history!
- Japan Mitsukoshi store: there is lots to do inside this huge store in World Showcase including pearl hunting and trying unique Japanese sweets.
- France Impressions de France: a 20-minute ride through the French countryside.
That leads us to our next Food and Wine tip:

Food & Wine Festival Entertainment
Every day of the festival features a performance at the America Gardens Theater as part of the Eat to the Beat Concert series. This offering was suspended through the 2021 festival, but we expect it to return in 2022 as the concerts at the other festivals have now returned.
Heres a look at the 2019 schedule , for example, which featured acts like Sugar Ray, Kenny G, and Boy II Men:
You can lineup and wait for these shows, but theyre also available as part of the Eat to the Beat Dining Package.
Additionally, in Future World East , the Disney Du Jour Dance Party is a chance for kids to dance to the music of Radio Disney, occasionally with some character guests.
Avoid Crowds By Going To The Festival During The Week
While Disney World generally has lower crowds throughout most of the Fall season, weekends at Epcot are super busy compared to the weekdays.
Why? Local residents and passholders that work during the week are more likely to hit up the festival during the weekend, adding to crowds.
If you have your hopes set for attending one of the Epcot Food and Wine demonstrations or classes, many of which only run on the weekends, you could reserve rides and taste testing for the week, then focus solely on learning on the weekends.
While you wouldnt be avoiding the crowds, youll have to deal with it a bit less since you only have 1 thing to focus on that day.

Epcot International Food And Wine Festival 2021 Tips
1. Make a plan before heading out.
If you take your food as seriously as I do, you’ll want to identify a few must-try items in advance. It’s a great way to whet your appetite, and it can help you budget. I make a list of the things I want to try and at which global marketplaces I can find them. It’s not meant to be exhaustive because I want to leave a little room for discovery, but it helps me plan which foods I don’t want to miss.
You can also do this when you get to the festival. There is a pocket guide with all of the menus, and it’s also available digitally through the My Disney Experience app.
2. Have a budget and stick to it.
As we mentioned earlier, setting a spending limit at the outset is the best way not to go overboard. You can use cash, credit, debit, gift cards or MagicBands . We prefer the miniature-sized festival gift cards because they are convenient with their wrist strap, and also make nice souvenirs.
3. Share food among your frog squad.
Another way to sample a little bit of everything is to go to the festival with a group. Even if it’s just you and your bestie, a good time is guaranteed. Whether it’s friends or family, everyone is bound to have different tastes. Get whatever you want and then share with the rest of the group!
4. Be ready for lines at festival marketplaces
5. Scout places to eat.
6. Keep an eye out for
7. Pace yourself.
8. Let the kids have fun.
9. … And let them eat!
10. Try new things you might not consider beforehand.

How Much Does The Food Cost
Although it doesnt cost anything to attend the festival, you will have to pay for the food and beverages.
In general, drinks range in price from around $5-$9 each and food costs anywhere from around $4-$8 per serving.
Keep in mind that these prices are just averages. Some specialty cocktails and drink flights can be $11 or more each.

Rockin News: Eat To The Beat Is Back In 2022
Will Eat to the Beat regulars Hanson be back in 2022? Photo by Courtney Reynolds.
One thing Disney did seem to confirm for the 2022 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival dates is the much-anticipated return of Eat to the Beat.
2019 was the last time there was an Eat to the Beat concert series, and its been absent from Food & Wine in the years since for lets say obvious reasons.
WDW is promising a star-studded lineup, but well also have to wait and see wholl be playing this summer. I can say with certainty that my wife will be pulling for Hanson to come back to the America Gardens Theatre.
