Disney World Annual Florida Resident Pass

Access A New Integrated Calendar

Walt Disney World suspends sale of most annual passes

A new integrated calendar is coming that lets Passholders see blockout dates for each pass type, view available days for pass reservations, and make, modify or cancel a reservation all in one place. I hope this is a vast improvement on the current system. Ever since the Park Pass Reservation system was implemented, the ability to see availability and modify reservations has been frustrating.

Walt Disney World Annual Pass Renewal Discount

Renewing your annual pass usually comes with a discount of about 15%. For the Incredi-Pass, the renewal price is around $1,176 .

In most cases, it will make sense to seize the renewal discount, especially given the frequency of price increases. That said, if your schedule allows you to push your trips a few months each year, you might forgo the renewal and get a new annual pass. This requires thorough planning, though maybe not any more than is required to ensure you get value out of your annual pass.

Disney Pixie Dust Perks & Discounts

In addition to unlimited park entry throughout the year , there are many other special benefits included with the Florida resident Weekday pass. Here are a few of my favorites

NOTE: In order to receive the special discounts mentioned above, the Passholder must present their physical annual pass along with a valid photo ID. Trust me, the savings are more than worth it!

TIP: A good place to find up-to-date information on deals and discounts is on the . Disney doesnt always publicize special discounts on their website.

Florida Resident Annual Pass For Disney

We are Canadian snow birds and own a condo in Florida. We are in Florida for about 5 months a year and go to Disney once a year. We could go more often as we enjoy it so much.

Does anyone know if we are eligible to buy a Florida resident pass .

As I understand it, you must have photo ID, with a Florida residence address. If you have a Florida driver’s license, you will be eligible.

Here is a link, with all of the specific requirements:

Years ago I had a “Florida Only” drivers license in addition to my license from up North. But, I just found a note on Google that says they got rid of those a few years ago. You might still inquire about getting a state ID through. It’s simply a drivers license without driving privileges. I’m pretty sure you get them at the same place.

I suppose you could also look into a Concealed Weapons Permit. I think they issue those to out of state residents, but for that you’d have to take a class and get fingerprinted.

I have one of the above, and can buy Flrodia resident tickets. But I do vote and pay tax here via my us address, so was able to get the state ID as my Soc Sec number was linked to my FL address.

Not sure about nonUS cits doing so- my husband doesn’t have stateID and has to pay full price for his tics.

As a condo owner, I’m guessing you have the other documents that Disney lists in the above link, even if you don’t have a Florida license.

Disney Offers Florida Residents Annual Pass Options

Disney Annual Pass Tickets For Florida Residents

One of the benefits of living in Florida is the ability to purchase an annual pass to the various world-famous theme parks like Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Busch Gardens. Offering unlimited visits, they can be a huge money-saver. As a 21-year resident of the Sunshine State, the first thing I did was head on over to a Disney ticket booth to purchase my annual pass.

Even before moving to Florida I was a big fan of the Mouse! Every year we would spend our family vacations at Walt Disney World, probably about 20 memorable visits, more or less. Therefore, it was only fitting to celebrate the 1200-mile-move with our very first Disney annual pass! Way back then, Disney only offered 2 or 3 types of passes for Florida residents. For the first 10+ years we splurged and bought the highest priced ticket. But with hubby and I both working full-time, we found ourselves visiting the parks less and less. Not that we didnt have a desire for the Disney magic, our schedules just didnt allow for it. In fact, one year we only used the pass once or twice. Our bargain-priced Disney annual pass ended up costing us a lot of money.

Disney Pixie Dust Pass

The Disney Pixie Dust Pass is the fourth and lowest tier Walt Disney World annual pass, available only to Florida residents. With this pass, you get:

  • access to all four theme parks , with park hopping, most days of the year with most holidays and all weekends but one blocked out , subject to reservation requirement

  • ability to hold up to three parks pass reservations at a time

  • up to 20% discount on select dining and merchandise

  • free standard theme park parking

The Disney Pixie Dust Pass costs $424.94 for adults and children. Making the Pixie Dust Pass $320, or about 43% cheaper than the Pirate Pass.

The Pixie Dust Pass has a whopping 161 days blocked out, but if you look at most four-day stretchesand even a few three-day stretcheswhere the pass is usable, tickets for those days will cost you more than this pass. So its really easy to justify the cost of this pass if you can make even one of your trips fit the pass.

The trap you dont want to fall into with the lower tier passes is getting the pass thinking youll fit your schedule around it and then you wind up with a holiday family tripand then a weekend or two because the kids cant go on school daysand then all of a sudden youve spent more than a Pirate Pass.

The Pixie Dust Pass is really appealing, but if youre so into the idea of a Disney World annual pass that youre still reading this post, you need to be realistic about whether youre going to need the extra days a Pirate Pass offers.

Walt Disney World Pauses Annual Pass Sales

Disney’s annual passes for non-Florida residents are currently unavailable.

Walt Disney World has paused sales of select annual passes until at least 2022.

Announced in a message posted to the park’s website this week, the move is aimed at managing park capacity as the holiday travel season gets underway.

Existing pass holders will be able to renew their passes, but anyone who doesn’t already have a pass will have to wait unless they live in Florida and have ample free time on weekdays.

The only annual pass currently available for Disney World is the Disney Pixie Dust Pass, which provides Florida residents with unlimited visits to Walt Disney World’s Florida theme parks on most weekdays for $399 a year and is the cheapest annual pass Disney offers in Orlando.

Disney’s Pirate Pass, which allows Florida residents to visit most days of the week including weekends for $699 a year won’t be available until at least 2022.

Neither of Disney’s annual passes for non-Florida residents which offer unlimited visits to Disney parks in Florida for between $899 and $1,299 a year are currently available. Those passes are also expected to become available again sometime in 2022.

Disney launched new versions of its annual passes in September as a way to help guests commemorate The World’s Most Magical Celebration all year long. Disney this year is celebrating its 50th anniversary with lots of special events and a number of promotions including a partnership with Southwest Airlines.

Value dates under the new system are only midweek dates in the off season that dont fall on or near a holiday. All of spring break and summer is Regular or Peak. All of the week around Thanksgiving and several weeks around Christmas and New Years Day is Peak. The week between Christmas and New Years is Holiday. Weekends are all either Regular or Peak, so the longest stretch of Value dates you can get in a row is 5 days. Also, keep in mind that the per-day price of your tickets is based on all of the valid days, so even if you plan to go into the parks on 5 Value days in March, a 5-Day tickets per-day price will be based on averaging the price for all 8 valid days , which will necessarily include some Regular or Peak days.

Disney has put a YouTube video online to help explain the changes.

If you’re a big Disney fan looking to buy an annual pass to Disney World right now, you’re out of luck.

The theme park has put a temporary stop to its annual passes.

The change was posted on the company’s website late Sunday night.

The only annual pass available right now is the Pixie Dust Pass. The pass is for Florida residents only.

Disney hasnt said when they will sell annual passes again, although renewals for existing annual passholders are still available. It wasn’t a direct response, but Universal tweeted what might be a subtle dig at Disney.

After word broke about Disney’s lack of annual passes, Universal Orlando posted this tweet.

Tables In Wonderland Access

Walt Disney World annual passholders have the option to purchase a Tables In Wonderland membership. Tables in Wonderland is a much more generous dining discount, offering 20% at a range of eating and drinking establishments in Walt Disney World. The discount includes alcohol. Unfortunately, quick service options are still limited.

Merchandise Discount Is Usually 20%

The merchandise discount is much more generous than the dining discount, and it isnt matched by the Chase Disney Visa cards 10% discount. Mostly, if youre looking to buy standard Disney merchandise in the parks, hotels, or Disney Springs, youll get 20% off.

Merchandise obviously includes things like t-shirts, but you might be surprised to see youll get a discount for basically anything sold in the stores, including things like diapers at the baby care centers.

Can I Get More Park Reservations If I Stay At A Resort

Complete guide to Disney World Annual Passes (w/price increases ...

When you stay on Walt Disney World Property as an Annual Passholder, you get a guaranteed park reservation. This does not count as one of your reservations through your pass.

For example, if you have the Incredi-Pass with five park reservations and currently have four used up, you can book a stay at Pop Century with guaranteed park reservations and still leave that final park reservation up for grabs for another day.

Disney World Annual Pass Discounts

The above section should have done most of the work of helping you decide whether or not to get a Disney World annual pass. But whether you are still on the fence or just want to read more about what perks youll get, were going to discuss the discounts and the other perks of Disney World annual passes.

You should always check the specifics at the Disney World websites passholder benefits page, because restrictions apply, but heres a look at some of the passholder discounts.

Why Disney Stopped Selling Aps

It seems highly likely that Disney World will resume the sales of Annual Passes in 2022. The decision to pause the sales was a somewhat reasonable one. First, if you look at the park pass availability for the end of the year, youll notice its pretty full for Annual Passholders for all parks. If Disney were to continue selling passes, they would have new buyers with no way to get into the park for the next few weeks.

This disappointment and adding more stress to the reservation system is something they want to avoid. The Pixie Dust Pass is blocked out those days and all weekends so its understandable that Disney would see no harm in continue to sell it since there would be no expectation of those buying it to get in during sold out days. Renewals are also still happening for existing passholders. In addition, Disney World is still grappling with a labor shortage and reduced park capacity. All of these factors are most likely contributing to the pause of Annual Passes.

In the case of both Disney and Universal, the companies charged less for Florida residents trying to lure locals in to fill the parks up on slower days. It was a good system that rewarded people who live near the theme parks while also offering a price break for frequent visitors from out of town.

Disney suspended annual pass sales during its pandemic closure and brought them back for a short time last year but it paused those sales on all except its lowest-tier Florida resident only pass the only one available since roughly last Thanksgiving.

That gives a pretty big edge to Universal Studios, which has all tiers of its passes on sale both for residents and non-residents.

Annual Passholder Benefits To Consider

One of the fun parts of being an Annual Passholder is that there are some extra perks available to you. For me, a deciding factor in my calculations was free standard theme park parking. With Disneys complimentary airport Magical Express service ending on 12/31/21, I knew that Id be considering a wider range of hotels when heading to Walt Disney World.

While passholders do get discounts on Disney resort hotels from time to time during the year, huge deals can be found offsite. But then paying for parking adds up. Not if youre an annual passholder. Ill save $25 a day on parking in Disney lots.

One other passholder perk is discounted dining, merchandise and experiences. Dining and merchandise discounts range from 10-20%. Experience discounts range from $2 off movie discounts at Disney Springs to 20% off bowling at Splitsville Luxury Lanes at Disney Springs. Check out the full list of discounts here.

What Are The New Walt Disney World Annual Pass Options

There are now four different levels of Disney Annual Passes available to Florida Residents.

The two main differences between each pass level are the blockout dates and the amount of Disney park pass reservations you can hold at one time. A reservation is required to visit any Walt Disney World theme park, on any day.

You may be saying Wait! Pump the brakes. I thought you couldnt get a Disney annual pass right now? You would be correct. The Disney World website has currently paused the sale of annual passes. However, it is likely that the suspension of sales was because parks were filling up over the holidays and due to the 50th anniversary and Disney trying to control capacity.

Currently, only sales of select annual passes and renewals are taking place. Namely, the lowest tier Florida resident pass which applies blackout dates and restricts access during the busy holiday season. We expect to see new sales of annual passes resume in the first quarter of 2022. Originally many sites and social media accounts were forecasting them to start back up after the holidays. Personally, I think it will be at least February so that they have a chance to asses Omicrons impact on their operations and assess cast member coverage.
