Can You Bring Outside Food Into Disney World

Do I Have To Haul My Food Around With Me All Day

How to NOT Spend Money at Disney | What Food Can You Bring Into Disney World? Disney Allows Coolers?

You have two options: carry your food with you or leave it in a locker. If youre just toting drinks and snacks, then youll want to keep those with you in your personal purse or backpack. You never know when hunger will strike.

However, a full meal can get a bit heavy to haul around in the heat all day. If you have a stroller, you could leave your cooler there . If you dont have a stroller, then your best bet is to store your lunch in a locker.

Lockers are available at the front of all four Disney theme parks and both water parks. Additional lockers are available at the back International Gateway entrance at Epcot. Bear in mind that lockers are not free. Prices do change, but currently, lockers at theme parks and water parks start at $10 per day and go up to $15 per day.

Another caveat about lockers is that you may be faaaaaar away from your food when its time to eat. Its a long, long walk from Epcots World Showcase when youre starving and your food is at the front of the park.

What Types Of Food Have You Brought Into The Parks

Nearly every time I enter a Disney theme park, Im carrying some sort of beverage: water bottle, Diet Coke, or juice box for the kids. When my children were small, I always brought baggies filled with their favorite munchables like Goldfish and Cheerios.

I have a friend whose son has severe allergies she brings entire meals for him when she visits the parks.

Objects That Look Like Firearms Or Weapons

This applies regardless of age. Bubble wands are allowed, but bubble guns are not. Prop swords are not allowed. Star Wars: Galaxys Edge in Hollywood Studios sells replica lightsabers but you are not allowed to bring your own lightsaber into the parks.

Stores in the Disney parks will sell swords that are very obviously toys, but dont take the risk of bringing your childs favorite and risk losing it!

Throw In A Special Treat

If you plan to buy all your snacks before getting into the parks, look at buying a little treat to make the day feel special. This way when the kids ask for that cinnamon bun at $7 you can give them a tasty and exciting alternative that will have cost you a fraction of the price.

That way you can still have a great day without tantrums and you dont have to worry about spending and ruining your budget.

Should You Bring Your Own Snacks To Universal Studios

Can You Bring Food Into Disney World? How To Do It ...

Universal Studios is the perfect vacation destination for movie lovers and fans, or essentially anyone looking for an experience like no other. From the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to the Marvel Super Hero Island, you get to go on different rides and stop by many attractions to immerse yourself in your favorite movie settings. That said, no theme park visit will be complete without food and drinks, especially since you want to stay energized throughout the day!

Whether you are going on a Universal Studios tour or exploring the parks on your own, taking breaks and snacking from time to time to stay well-rested is a must. Items You Can Bring In

My first suggestion is to bring in a plastic or metal refillable water bottle for each person in your group. There are water filling stations and water fountains located throughout all 4 parks. You want to make sure you stay hydrated!

Second, my family has always brought in snacks. I tend to get hangry, lol! Good items to pack in your bag are granola bars, crackers, goldfish for the little ones , and fruit snacks. Food that needs to be refrigerated or that can melt should be left in your hotel room.

How much can you bring? I have been known to bring in a full lunch! We will make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in our hotel in the morning and pack fruit to go with it.

I wouldnt try and bring in a loaf of bread and make your lunches in the park. Remember you have to carry it all and there is a limit to the size of your bag. Disney Parks do have lockers, but they are not refrigerated and availability is limited. Guests who need to refrigerate medication may do so at First Aid.

Can You Sneak Into Magic Kingdom

The parks and resorts at Walt Disney World follow strict rules to ensure the safety of guests and cast members. In order to be a part of the event, you cannot sneak into the areas behind the scenes. In a new report, it was reported that a 31-year-old man broke into a theme park by climbing a wall at Walt Disney World.

Other Food Restrictions In Disney World

Other than limiting what you can bring into the resort, Disney World also has regulations regarding how you carry your food and beverages. One, glass containers are not allowed. So avoid packing your food in glass otherwise, security at the entrance will confiscate it.

Two, theres a limitation on the size of cooler you can carry. Your cooler should not exceed 18x25x37. So when planning what food to bring along, think about how much you can fit into a cooler that size. Youre also not allowed to bring loose ice, so use ice packs in the cooler.

If youre bringing a lot of food thats a bother to carry along, you can rent a storage locker for the day at several places in the resort. Small storage lockers cost $10 per day, while a large one is available for $12. At Epcot and Magic Kingdom, you can rent a Jumbo storage locker for $15 a day.

Using these lockers saves you from the hassle of carrying heavy luggage containing food when you should be enjoying the attractions. When its time to sit down and have a meal, you can get your food from the locker.

Its Convenient If Youre On A Strict Diet

Why You Should Bring Your Own Food to Disney World!

Disney World restaurants provide special diets, but its convenient to pack food if youre on a stringent diet such as keto. This is, for instance, if you want to be fully aware of what ingredients go into your food, their source, and their preparation.

Youll also avoid instances where it takes extra time to have your special meal servedhaving to wait longer than others is inconvenient when you have a family with you. Not to forget the situation where you might wait long to get your special dish, only to receive the wrong one, which unfortunately means more waiting.

These are also great for cleaning tables and high chairs before using them.

How Do I Prevent My Food From Spoiling

Its no secret that Walt Disney World can be hot, hot, hot. If you have anything perishable, youll want to make sure that you have the means to keep it cool under challenging circumstances.

Start with cold ingredients and the insulated bag. If youre staying at accommodations with a freezer, you can freeze gel packs, water bottles, or juice boxes and pack them in with the perishables. If you dont have access to a freezer, then youll need to use ice but as of May 1, 2019, loose ice is not permitted to be carried into theme parks or water parks. All of the Disney resort hotels have ice machines, but youll want to bring a storage bag or container to store it in before you place it in your cooler. If youre using ice as your cooling mechanism, keeping it in several layers of well-sealed plastic will keep melting ice contained. Theres nothing worse than a soggy sandwich.

Cooler Backpack

If you need more ice when youre in the theme park, counter service spots will give you a free cup of ice. You do not need to put this into a baggie or container you can dump it directly into your cooler. But be sure to carry a baggie or container if you prefer not to have loose or melting ice in your cooler.

Snacks To Pack For Disney World And Disneyland

Can you bring food into Disneyland and Disney World? If you are looking to pack your own food for a Disney vacation, simplicity is my personal preference! Consider using grocery delivery services like InstaCart or Amazon to have groceries delivered to your Disney resort hotels, especially if you do not have a car available. Check your resort rules for possible fees associated with food delivery. Also, be advised that some delivery services require a signature and ID for alcoholic beverages.

On our last trip, we also utilized Wal Mart pick up service, since we had a car. This saved us some money on delivery fees which is always great!

Simple snacks to pack to include would be:

  • energy bars or granola bars
  • frozen grapes or apples
  • single size bags of chips
  • carrot sticks
  • gum
  • hard candy/lollipops
  • Goldfish/cheese crackers
  • yogurt raisins

Remember, to try not to bring too much food, as mom and dad will have to tote it through the parks and the parking lots. Its always a good idea to let the kids pick and choose their own snacks to make sure they arent begging for items throughout the park.

Our new rule is to let each child pick one special snack for the day, so that we arent spending an exorbitant amount of money on Disney snacks every day of our Disney vacation. Also, another good idea is to consider throwing a few empty Ziploc bags into your fanny packs or day bag. These will come in handy if you have leftovers that you want to enjoy later in the day.

Foods To Bring To Disney World

Can You Bring Food Into Disneyland + Other Disneyland Food ...

Fortunately, you can bring lots of foods to Disney World that your family can enjoy. Here are some excellent examples:

  • Dried fruits
  • Crackers
  • Soft drinks

Its wise to pack foods that are easy to eat and wont cause a mess. Pack them in hard plastic containers so they wont get squashed. To save space in your luggage, pour the snacks that come in bags into the containers and carry them that way.

Its also wise to be mindful of the high Florida temperature. To keep foods like sandwiches and soft drinks enjoyable, keep them in a well-insulated cooler.

Make Sure You Have The Right Bag

The best bet for transporting food insulated bags with soft sides. Coolers are undoubtedly welcome but can become cumbersome. Insulated bags are light and easy to navigate around the parks. They come in a variety of sizes, designs, and price ranges. The internet is your insulated bag oyster! A quick click on Amazon shows smaller bags starting at $15. Larger, diaper size bags are ideal for family meals. Whichever method you go with, keep in mind your gear needs to adhere to specific dimensions.

Any container entering Disney cant exceed 24 x 15 x 18. Thats about the size of a small carry on suitcase. So skip the giant beach cooler and convert a carry on into a lunch box right? Unfortunately no. Wheeled coolers, wagons, and such dont make the cut. So no mini parade of coolers hitched to the back of an ECV. Strollers though are all good! Have your stroller pull double duty by acting as food conveyance.
