Best Seafood At Disney World

Our Restaurant Ranking Factors

Flying Fish Review â Disney Dining Review of the Premier Seafood Restaurant in Walt Disney World

When we originally thought about writing this article it sounded like a lot of fun, but we soon realized it was much harder than we thought to rank the best restaurants in Disney World. There are so many amazing places to eat and to narrow them down took a big effort.

Of course with hundreds of restaurants to choose from, some of them are excellent, some good, and others just plain awful. Overall though, dining at Disney World is a great experience and it gives you a chance to try all sorts of food you otherwise wouldnt try back home.

We encourage you to branch out and try new cuisines outside the standard American fare traditionally found at theme parks. Thats why we wanted to give you a definitive rankings so you know which restaurants are worth trying and which to skip.

We didnt use some scientific method or any fancy spreadsheets or charts. We used our gut , in our hundreds of visits to Disney World throughout the years.

Some of the ranking factors we considered are:

  • Food Quality
  • Restaurant Theming and Ambiance
  • Extra Disney Magic

Our rankings are for sit-down or table service restaurants only as we have another list of the best counter service restaurants at Disney World. Some of them are fancy restaurants you go to for a romantic dinner, while others are very casual to take the whole family.

Disney World Dining Reservations

Of course, after reading about all the best places to eat at Disney World, you need to make reservations to book a table. Advanced Dining Reservations guarantee you a table at your restaurants of choice on the dates you choose.

Getting ADRs is extremely important since most of the best restaurants book up months ahead of time. Dont expect to walk up to a restaurant like the California Grill on the night you want to dine there and actually get a table. This all needs to be planned out months before your trip.

Dont underestimate this, its one of the most important steps when planning a Disney World vacation.

Read our Disney World Dining Reservations Guide for more tips and info on booking your restaurants.

Ultimate Guide to the Best Seafood at Disney World ...

I didnt realize when the song said try the grey stuff it was referring to the salmon. As you might assume, it was not delicious. As much as I love the theming at this uber-popular Magic Kingdom dining destination, the seafood Ive tried over several visits has left me filling up on dinner rolls and desserts instead. The salmon, as previously mentioned, had a fishy odor , the sauteed shrimp and scallops were a creamy mess, and the Marseilles-style mussels tasted average at best.

Best Local Restaurants For Seafood In Orlando

We are so fortunate here in Orlando to have so many great restaurants throughout our area. When in search of the best seafood, you can, of course, head out to either coast for ocean-side dining, but there is also actually plenty of places for great seafood in Central Florida.

Most locals rank High Tide Harrys as the best seafood in the City Beautiful, and this come-as-you-are eatery is packed to the gills with tasty catches from the sea. The menu is massive, and there are specials based on whatever is fresh from the ocean that day essentially any seafood you can imagine coming out of Floridas oceans can be found here. There is a raw bar, you can get a variety of crab legs, or you can try a Florida favorite: rock shrimp. High Tide Harrys is located near the Orlando International Airport, so consider it to either kick off your Orlando vacation or end it on a great note.

Not far from Universal Orlando is an area known as Restaurant Row, which is home to Big Fin Seafood Kitchen. For over a decade, Big Fin has been serving Orlando with a fantastic raw bar, sushi, and creative seafood specialties. During the months of mid-October to mid-May, Florida enjoys stone crab season, so be sure to order that here if you visit during this time. Its Happy Hour runs Monday to Saturday, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and on Sunday, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm you can enjoy great drink and food specials, and I suggest sitting at the open-air bar if the weather is nice.

Which Disney World Park Has The Best Restaurants

While there are plenty of restaurants to choose from in all 4 Walt Disney World theme parks, some of them stand up above the rest for dining options, especially table service restaurants.

Overall, EPCOT is the theme park with the best restaurants at Walt Disney World. This should come as no shock since World Showcase is practically dedicated to dining and has a food festival running in almost every month of the year.

EPCOT has the most restaurants of any theme park, the most diversity among them, and also the best quality restaurants. The park is a foodies dream come true.

The worst theme park at Disney World for table service restaurants is probably the Animal Kingdom, just because even though they have two amazing restaurants , they dont have a lot of choices.

The blame really falls on me for taking a chance on a $15 lobster roll at the Magic Kingdom, but I still need to shout to the world how unbelievably bad this was. Im not even sure this thing could be considered a lobster roll, as it mostly consisted of pink mayonnaise mixed with chopped tomatoes and celery. If there was any lobster in there, it was tiny crumbles from a can. Id rather go hungry.

    Disney World Resort Dining 101

First things first can anyone eat at Disney World resort restaurants? Yes! Diners do not need to be staying at the hotel to be able to eat at one of its restaurants. In fact, we love eating at Disney resort hotel restaurants because it gives us a chance to do a little resort hopping, one of our favorite things to do outside the theme parks.

With so many Disney World restaurants to choose from, especially at the hotels, and so few vacation days, it can be difficult to decide which you want to squeeze into your trip. Many minutes are spent waiting in line for rides or on the Disney buses during your already-expensive vacation, so the last thing you want to do is feel like youre wasting time on a meal that isnt worth its price tag.

While well try to help make your Disney dining reservation decisions a bit easier with this list, My Disney Experience is also an invaluable tool for planning where, when, and what youd like to eat. Not only will you need to use it to make your advance dining reservations, as well as join any walk-up lists, but we also like firing up the app to scope out restaurant menus ahead of time. This keeps you from scrambling over where to go at mealtime and helps to save you precious minutes when it comes time to place your order, meaning you can get back out into those ride lines faster.
