Buy Souvenirs Before You Leave
Buying souvenirs at the park is an expensive proposition that’s best avoided. Disney blogger Nelson suggests buying Disney products at lower prices from a vendor such as Target or or even sale items from the Disney store itself before leaving home. Stash the keepsakes in your luggage and hand them out to the kids after you arrive. “This not only lets them have some new fun things at a budget price,” Nelson says. “It helps deflect squawking when passing merchandise stands.”

The Benefits of Staying at a Disney Resort
Disney World resorts are unmatched in their level of convenience, amenities, and themes. That can come at a price though, as they can often be more expensive than off-property alternatives.
Even though staying on-property isnt necessarily cheap, it doesnt have to be awfully expensive. There are also quite a few benefits that can be appealing.

The Benefits of Staying at a Resort or Hotel Off the Disney World Property
While staying at a Disney World resort may be unbeatable for some, other families dont care much about the Disney bubble. Fortunately for those families, they have access to a lot more flexibility and they can usually stretch their budget further.

Disneys Beach Club Resort And Yacht Club Resort
The biggest reason to stay at Disneys Beach Club Resort is in the name. The Beach and Yacht Clubs shared 3-acre waterpark, Stormalong Bay, is a favorite among families.
With that amazing pool complex, you really dont even have to leave your hotel for a day of water fun. A ticket to one of Disneys awesome water parks normally starts around $70 , but visiting Stormalong Bay instead can help justify the room rates here.
Older kids can climb the shipwreck and slide 230 feet into the plunge pool, while younger kids will have no problem navigating the zero-entry pool from the beach just outside the hotel. And, there are three other pools scattered across the grounds, too. Disneys Yacht Club shares these amenities with Beach Club.

Disney’s All Star Sports Resort
The All Star Sports Resort is the perfect pick for athletes and fans alike. Youll find baseball, basketball, football, surfing, and tennis motifs everywhere you turn. On top of that, this cheap Disney World hotel is fun for the entire family.
Pros: food court has good options for kids, kids love the theming, great price, it’s the first stop on the bus transportation shared between the value resorts
Cons: bus transportation here tends to be challenging with longer wait and multiple stops to get to and from the resort, as a value resort there are no water slides, hot tub or table service restaurant, if there are athletic tournaments at the ESPN Wide World of Sports these teams usually stay here in large groups
With a surfboard-shaped pool, a delicious food court serving up all your favorite foods, complimentary outside movies, and an affordable base price of just $119, your stay at the All Star Sports Resort is sure to be a slam-dunk.

Avoid This ‘magic Kingdom’ Like The Plague
Avoid this ‘Magic Kingdom’ like the plague. They are infiltrating the soft and impressionable minds of your children and will stop at nothing to ensure that their indoctrination lives for centuries. The way in which they have rotted the standards, values and expectations of millions of people is a large part of what has happened to the World today.Spending hundreds, if not thousands in U.S. Corporation promissary notes to expose your children to even more of their brain-washing is simply child abuse Florida is a state of such natural beauty – go and explore the outdoors – “It’s a small world, afterall” 🙂
Dont Buy Park Hopper Passes
The luxury of hopping between multiple parks in a single day is both expensive AND time-consuming. Chances are, youre staying in Disney long enough to experience each park at least once. Also, Park Hopper passes dont include access to water parks. Still worried about having extra time to kill before dinner? Kick back at your resort or take a stroll down Disney Springs.

Arrange Grocery Deliveries To Your Hotel Room
Don’t waste vacation time going to the grocery store. Contacting a food delivery service for in-room supplies can help reduce food costs before, during, and after each day’s park excursion, Bistline and Lieberman say. Local grocery stores, Whole Foods, GardenGrocer.com, and even Amazon are sources for breakfast foods, snacks, and perishables. Bistline says most hotels will refrigerate food, and rooms often have a mini-fridge.
How Much Does The Food At Disney World Cost
When planning a Disney World trip, there are 2 budget items where it is relatively easy to spend big or save a lot: food & lodging.
Want to save some money? Disney makes it easy to keep your expenses low by allowing you to bring food into the parks.
But, if cost isnt a factor, they also offer lots of restaurants where you can easily spend upwards of $150 for a family of 4.
Important note: The Disney Dining Plan is currently unavailable, however, Disney has announced that it will return at a later date.
And, let us not forget about the Disney Dining Plan. This is an add-on that is only available to guests staying onsite at a Walt Disney World owned hotel.
It includes 4 different options, and depending on which one you select youll receive a certain number of credits to use throughout your trip:
- Quick Service Dining Plan
- Regular Dining Plan
- Plus Dining Plan
- Deluxe Dining Plan

Disneys Polynesian Village Resort
One of two Disney World hotels dating back to the theme park resort’s opening day 50 years ago, Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is a guest favorite, loved for its Polynesian-inspired design and proximity to Magic Kingdom Park. The Polynesian Village Resort has great dining options: Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto serves up tiki drinks with a touch of Disney magic, Dole Whips are available at Pineapple Lanai, and guests rave about the breakfast and dinner at ‘Ohana. Visiting the theme parks is easy thanks to the Deluxe hotel’s monorail stop, and you can even spot the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the beach. Recent additions include overwater bungalows and new “Moana”-themed guest rooms.

Where Should You Stay At Walt Disney World
Where Should You Stay at Walt Disney World?
You know that you want to plan a trip, but where should you stay at Walt Disney World? When considering where to stay, there are several things to think about. It is important to consider your budget and the amenities that are important to you. With over 25 different resorts on property and more coming, there are options for every budget. Each resort category has great amenities and benefits and each one will give you the advantages of staying on Disney property, inside the Disney Bubble.
First things first, why should you stay at a Walt Disney World Resort?
Staying at a Walt Disney World has several advantages including free transportation to and from Orlando International Airport, free transportation around the resort, the ability to schedule your FastPasses 60 days prior to check-in and much more!
There are four resort categories at Walt Disney World: Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, Disney Deluxe Resorts, Disney Moderate Resorts, and Disney Value Resorts.
Disney Deluxe Villas/Deluxe Resorts
My Favorite: Disneys Beach Club Resort is my favorite in this category. I love being able to walk to EPCOT, take a boat to Hollywood Studios or a quick bus ride to Disneys Animal Kingdom or the Magic Kingdom. The pool, in my opinion, is one of the best on Disney property and the service is amazing! Lets also not forget the wonderful character breakfast at Cape May Café!

Best Disney World Accommodations For Large Families
When deciding which Disney vacation resorts made our list we created a criteria based on the following:
The Disney resort must fit the five of us. This sounds obvious, but it is important to read about the bed situations. As the kids get older and bigger we need space, and beds, for all five of us.
Also consider the comfort of sleeping on a pull-out sofa for a week. We did use the pull out sofa at Art of Animation and it was comfortable. Consider the length of your stay and who will be sleeping where.
The resort must be within our family vacation budget. Honestly- our budget changes for every trip. Some trips we are willing to splurge on our resort and others we spend more at the parks.
If we are staying for a week we try to save more money on the resort. If we are staying for a night or two and are planning a lot of resort time, we may splurge a little on the accommodations.
My best recommendation is to price all the resorts that you like and then decide. The $100 difference of two resorts might be worth it if you plan on spending a day at the pool and water slides.
The convenience and the magic of staying on-site is great for people that want to stay inside the Disney bubble.
Luckily there are some amazing Disney World accommodations for families of five that stay within a budget and dont skimp on any of the Disney magic.

Disneys Art Of Animation Resort
Disneys Art of Animation is the king of Value resorts at Disney World. Its the newest of the category and has a whole lot going for it. The experience isnt exactly the same as at our favorite Moderate and Deluxe resorts, but Art of Animation can easy on your pocketbook while still offering a good amount of magic.
The Art of Animation resort is filled with bright colors, memorable Disney cartoon characters and its now very accessible to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios thanks to the new Disney Skyliner gondola system.
The Art of Animation resort really shines with its family suites, which offer a lot more room and have three beds in each suite . The family suites have The Lion King,Cars and Finding Nemo themes, while standard rooms are Little Mermaid-themed.
The Big Blue Pool at Art of Animation is actually the largest hotel pool at any Disney World resort. Youll find your favorite Nemo characters hanging around and you can even enjoy underwater music as you swim.
The food here wont blow you away, but Landscape of Flavors is a reliable cafeteria-style venue.
Outside of Art of Animation, our best advice, if you are booking a value resort, is to pick one that has been recently renovated. It still may not be your most exciting hotel stay ever, but a new room is better than an old room. For example, TPGs Katie Genter recently stayed in All-Star Movies, which is pretty fresh off a new room look.
