Best Disney World Restaurants For Toddlers

Geyser Point Bar & Grill

Best Disney World Sit Down Restaurants for Kids!

Long before La Crêperie de Paris was doing double duty with Table Service and Quick Service, Geyser Point Bar & Grill was paving the way in Disneys Wilderness Lodge, and we gotta bow down!

Geyser Point

This place is great for its something-for-everyone vibe, flavors, and dining style all in a rustic-chic environment with an open-air ambience, prime waterfront views, and decor reminiscent of the Pacific Northwest. Beautiful!

Burgers are a hearty late-night choice at Geyser Point

Types Of Dining At Walt Disney World

At Disney World, there are several types of restaurant options, or categories, if you will. Quick-service restaurants are casual, offer fast service and serve cafeteria-style food over the counter. Food selections are ordered either by Mobile Order or at the counter. Once you pick up your order, youll seat yourself. Dont let the term cafeteria-style fool you. There are insanely delicious options in this category!

Table-service restaurants offer a sit-down meal where a server takes your order and brings your food to your table. These restaurants range from casual to fine dining. Table-service restaurants take reservations, whereas quick-service locations do not. We highly recommend you make these dining reservations in advance. Because were sharing only the best today, most of these table-service reservations fill up quickly.

Best Quick Service Meal: Satuli Canteen

Quick service at its Disney-fied finest, this mess hall is next to Avatar Flight of Passage in Animal Kingdom.

The beef, chicken and fish bowls make a great fast and cheap lunch or dinner, and the blueberry cream cheese mousse is a highlight.

Theres also wine and beer to help you wind down after the Avatar experience. This place is not only a yummy quick-service selection but also a good choice if youre trying to eat healthy while at Disney World.

Epcot Coral Reef Restaurant

Epcot Coral Reef restaurant is another great choice for both the kids and the adults. Coral Reef is a restaurant with a difference. The restaurant has a wall of 8 feet high windows that look onto the huge saltwater aquarium. which is part of the Seas With Nemo and Friends pavilion in Epcot Future World.

Sit and eat your meal whilst you watch up to 85 species of fish in the giant tank. Perhaps more entertaining for the children is the fact that often you can see divers float past your table.

As you would expect, there are a lot of great seafood choices on the menu. Appetizers include Crispy Rhode Island Calamari, Creamy Lobster Soup, Charbroiled Octopus and Caesar Salad.

The entree menu offers a lot of seafood choices including Seared Mahi-Mahi or Lobster Seafood Boil, Grilled Swordfish or Shrimp and Grits.

If seafood isnt your thing you can also choose from Grilled Vegetable Skewer, Grilled New York Strip Steak or Oven Roasted Herb Chicken Breast.

Whilst the concept of Epcot Coral Reef is an excellent one and the decor and theme are a brilliant idea, service can be a little inconsistent. Here is my full Epcot Coral Reef review at:

Best Fancy Meal: Victoria & Alberts

Top 10 Best Walt Disney World Restaurants for Kids

If you simply want the best food at Disney World, head for this posh restaurant in Disneys Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.

Just dont expect to roll in straight from the parks, as men must wear dinner jackets and women are expected to don a nice dress, fancy pantsuit or skirt with a blouse. Children under 10 are not permitted. Expect to spend a few hundred dollars on a meal for two. Also, know that as of this update, this high-end joint has yet to reopen.

Until Victoria & Alberts reopens, try California Grill for a relatively upscale meal.

Over at Disneys Wilderness Lodge, youll find Whispering Canyon Cafe . I think that this location makes my list no matter what group of people I am traveling with! I really appreciate that Whispering Canyon serves all 3 meals of the day.

Pinocchio Village Haus At Magic Kingdom

This is a quick service setting, but dont be shocked it made the list. Pinocchio Village Haus sits perfectly in the magic with a window view of Its A Small World. They even have cute signs on the tables to show to those riding the ride! During a Birthday celebration visit, we were gifted desserts and the perfect seat in front of the iconic Disney ride. On the hot days, this is a great place to let the kids enjoy too! This is a fantastic place for kids to eat inside the Magic Kingdom.

The 9 Best Family Restaurants At Walt Disney World

Best Rides, Restaurants & Character Meets For Kids In Walt Disney World According To My Children

At its core, a Disney theme park is the ultimate expression of family. The memories that you make during a Disney vacation can and often do last a lifetime. Parents treasure those memories of their children visiting the Happiest Place on Earth for the first time.

As families, one of the things that we learn to do from a young age is eat together. These meals have a subtle impact on our lives, as theyre how we first learn to communicate in a social setting. At Walt Disney World, several of the most intimate settings honor that tradition of family members breaking bread together. Here are my choices for best family restaurants at Walt Disney World, along with a caveat. This list is mine, but anywhere at the parks where you smile happily as you reminisce about shared experiences with your loved ones counts, too. That is the beauty of Disney.

Eating At Disney Resort Hotel Restaurants During Covid

There are a few things to keep in mind when dining at Disney resort hotel restaurants during the pandemic. Access to the Disney World resorts is restricted and you absolutely must have an advance reservation to be able to enter. As capacity is currently restricted, reservations can be at a premium, so its even more crucial that you plan ahead.

While some Disney resort restaurants remain closed, most are back open and serving guests. Having said that, a modified dining experience is in place at many Disney World restaurants. In some cases, buffets have switched over to a limited menu served family-style. This is actually a change we dont mind, as the food gets to your table fresher. Disney character dining has also gone through a shakeup, with the princesses and Mickey Mouse being relegated to socially distanced waving or not making an appearance at all.

All that being said, as long as youre aware of the changes and adjust your expectations accordingly, its still a great time to enjoy the best Disney World restaurants the resorts have to offer.

Jiko The Cooking Place

  • Cost: $$$
  • Type of Food: African

Time and time again, Jiko stays firmly in our Top 10 restaurants at Disney World, this time making it all the way up to #3. Some restaurants are more flashy with a cooler theme. Some have incredible views and wow you with fireworks shows. Jiko might not have those, but everything it does, it does exceptionally well.

Jikos menu is inspired by the vast cuisines found throughout Africa and it is by far the most exotic of all the Disney signature restaurants. You are not going to find a burger and fries on the menu, but you will find some of the most flavorful and inspired dishes anywhere.

In all our years of coming to Jiko, not once have we ever walked away being disappointed with our meal. That counts for a lot as most of the other top Disney World restaurants have disappointed us at least once. Do not miss out on one of the best Disney dining experiences.

What to Get: The Taste of Africa bread service is up there with the one from Sanaa, and the flatbreads here are legendary. The lamb is the best weve ever had anywhere, and the short rib is also not to be missed. Even though you wont find it on the menu, the filet mignon with mac and cheese is one of our favorite Disney entrees of all-time. Its life-changing! Make sure you enjoy it with one of the many South African wines they have in the cellar.

Best Restaurants For Kids At Walt Disney World

Best Walt Disney World Restaurants for Kids

Posted by: Sarah Chapman

I feel like Walt Disney World Parks & Resorts know a thing or two about entertaining families and kids. And they have done an excellent job making many of their dining experiences kid-friendly. Where you may only be brave enough to venture out to Chick-Fil-A or McDonalds with your kids at home, Disneys restaurants have lots of built in features to keep them entertained and menu items that are friendly to a childs palate. But the really great thing is that these same restaurants will have grown-up menu features and options so that everyone gets to enjoy their meal. Here are my top choices for restaurants for kids:

10. Sci-Fi Dine In Theater, Disneys Hollywood Studios

I have to preface this by saying that you know your kids. If they are going to be frightened by cheesy mid-century horror flicks or dark spaces this is NOT a good choice for your family. My kids, however, love it. The whole ambiance of sitting in a car at a simulated outdoor drive in movie theater is just so much fun. The excerpts from movies shown are really just silly rather than anything else, but for some children it may be too much. The menu is kid-friendly too with great shakes, burgers, etc.

9. Chef Mickeys, Disneys Contemporary Resort

8. Cinderellas Royal Table, Magic Kingdom

Best Restaurant In The Magic Kingdom: Skipper Canteen

Unless what you are after is a character meal, Skipper Canteen takes our top spot for the best restaurant in the Magic Kingdom. This claim is especially true if you enjoy both the Jungle Cruise ride and slightly more adventurous eating than just fries and burgers.

On the lunch or dinner menu, you will find dishes such as Falls Family Falafel and Tastes like Chicken , which is crispy fried chicken served with jasmine rice, chili glaze and seasonal vegetables . Theres also a sustainable fish course .

If you like spicy noodle dishes, the Perkins Thai Noodles served with tofu and/or chicken, vegetables, rice noodles and spicy chili-garlic sauce is fantastic and unlike anything else youll find in Magic Kingdom.

Be Our Guest Restaurant

The final restaurant on the list is Be Our Guest Restaurant in Fantasyland in the Magic Kingdom. This immersive table service restaurant is a favorite of Guests of all age thanks to its delicious French cuisine and immersive setting. Guests who dine at the restaurant for lunch and dinner can sit in the Portrait Gallery, West Wing, or Grand Ballroom and feel as though they have stepped into Beauty and the Beast with the chance of even spotting the Beast himself!

Lunch and dinner at Be Our Guest Restaurant feature prix-fixe menus for children, and some of the delicious appetizers available to choose from include an Iceberg Wedge Salad, Fruit and Cheese Plate, and House-made Peach Applesauce. Entrée options available for kids include House-made Macaroni & Cheese, Grilled Beef Tenderloin, and Pan-seared Chicken Breast each served with sides such as wild rice, sweet potato wedges, steamed green beans, and sautéed zucchini. Kids are sure to love dining on these rather grown-up options and feeling like royalty inside of the Beasts Castle!

Liberty Tree Tavern At Magic Kingdom

My last favorite for teens and tweens is also at Magic Kingdom, Liberty Tree Tavern . If you have teens like mine, they love history. Liberty Tree puts them in different eras of colonial times, depending on where you are seated. The service is always great here, so less stress on the parents!

The huge platters of Thanksgiving-type foods is perfect for the teens in your family. My teens, while they have certainly expanded their palates, still like a traditional meal every once in a while. The turkey, green beans, potatoes, rolls, etc are always a hit with them at Liberty Tree. And really, we all just go there for the Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake, right?!

Best Restaurants At Disney World For Adults

10 Best Restaurants For Kids at Disney World | Delish

While Walt Disney World is great for kids, its equally as enjoyable for adults. Sometimes you just need a night away from the kids to unwind and have a nice, romantic dinner with your significant other.

Here are our picks for the Best Romantic Restaurants in Disney World:

  • Victoria & Alberts If you are looking for a romantic dinner, you cant beat this. This goes to the top of any Disney World bucket list.
  • California Grill The atmosphere on top of the Contemporary Resort overlooking the Magic Kingdom is second to none. Make sure to book during the fireworks and youll have the end to an incredible evening.
  • Takumi-Tei Stepping inside this restaurant is like leaving EPCOT for a moment and entering another world. The food quality at this high-end Japanese steakhouse is second-to-none and a welcome escape from the chaotic theme parks.
  • Narcoossees Grab a table along the water and watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks while enjoying a fine seafood dining experience.
  • Monsieur Paul This high-end French restaurant will make you feel like youve teleported to Paris for the evening. Dont skip the desserts, they are divine.
  • Yachtsman Steakhouse This has an old-school steakhouse feel to it with oak finishings and fireplaces to get cozy. Grab a ribeye and a glass of wine and youre all set.
  • Flying Fish Head over to Flying Fish for an elegant seafood dinner followed by a relaxing stroll around The Boardwalk at night.

The Park That Has The Best Rides For Toddlers

This award easily goes to our favorite and most popular park, Magic Kingdom. At Magic Kingdom, youll find so many parks for the younger ones to enjoy.

Some of our favorites include the Dumbo ride, , and the Jungle Cruise.

We also love to go on the Pirates of the Caribbean and you absolutely HAVE to do the people mover.

The people mover is Walt Disneys gift to those people that want a solid 10 minutes to do nothing and just relax!

Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe At The Magic Kingdom

Oh, the dance parties weve had at this spot! Another quick service meal option with entertainment for the kids. The only downside is trying to get the kids to eat their kids meal when the cast wants them to dance to the music. Its a good problem to have! This area seems to rotate out the experience. Weve been for burgers and there was a full-on dance party and then weve stopped in for a quick bite and it was just Cosmic Ray playing tunes while you ate. Either way, this is a unique quick service experience located in Tomorrowland that the kid will love.

These 6 locations are not only great places for kids to eat at when visiting Disney World, but they are also places we frequent as much as possible. Chef Mickeys at the Contemporary Resort, Cinderellas Round Table at the Magic Kingdom, and The Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue at Fort Wilderness are 3 dining experiences also worth mention.
