Reminiscent of the Florida Keys, this low key resort is located on an island and is a golfers paradise.
Kids love the pools here, and the Sandcastle pool slide especially.
Watch out for the playful dolphins that squirt you as you wander by!
Theres a toddlers pool too.

This hotel near Disney World is one of the best due to its elegant decor and outstanding service. This family-friendly resort is like its own tropical beach vacation right in Orlando, Florida.

They promote water sports at their private lake in addition to offering one, three, and five-mile nature trails where you can walk/jog, bike ride, or rock climb. They also have a poolside restaurant, On the Rocks, where you can get dinner and specialty drinks.

A Stay At A Disney Hotel Means More Time In The Theme Parks
Well, most of the time anyway. Usually, guests staying at one of the Disneyland Resort hotels receive the covetable perk of early admission to either Disneyland or California Adventure with Extra Magic Hour. Unfortunately, as a result of the pandemic, Extra Magic Hour is currently suspended.
However, in normal times, this special benefit really is extra magical. Depending on the day of the week, guests can enter either Disneyland Park or California Adventure Park up to one hour early, giving a huge edge before the rest of the crowds start to flow in. And if its fully taken advantage of, Extra Magic Hour really can help you accomplish a lot before the lines start to grow.
Needless to say, were hopeful that this time-saving perk will return once crowd levels can return to normal. If it does , this will likely be the Extra Magic Hour Early Admission schedule:
- Disneyland Park Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
- Disney California Adventure Park Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays

Disneys Beach Club Resort
As Ive mentioned several times, EPCOT claims the title of my favorite theme park. I never get tired of exploring the World Showcase or riding the E-ticket attractions.
For that matter, I very much enjoy the less popular rides like The Seas with Nemo & Friends as well.
At Beach Club, Im never more than a 10-minute walk away from the France pavilion. These days that means Im about 700 steps from Remys Ratatouille Adventure.
Of course, thats not the only reason I adore Beach Club. Stormalong Bay enriches every hotel stay.
This mini-water park is technically a hotel pool, but it somehow feels much grander in scale.
Plus, two terrific restaurants, Beaches & Cream Soda Shop and Cape May Café, reside a minute or two away from the hotel pool.
I favor Beaches & Cream because some of its tables include a view of the pool, although that was more the case before the redesign.
No: Disneys Polynesian Village Resort
Disneys Polynesian Village Resort is a Hawaiian themed resort for a fun holiday vibe.
These villas are the only rooms in WDW to sit on top of the water!
Its an island paradise with delicious Polynesian cocktails and South Pacific inspired cuisine, plus unique Polynesian shows!
Its on the monorail line for super easy access to Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
This is the best Disney resort for adults who want to imagine they are in Bora Bora!

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Anaheim Resort Area
Points program: IHG Rewards often 22,500 32,500 points per night
Located about a 15-minute walk from Disneyland, the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Anaheim Resort Area is still fairly new and has many amenities families are looking for on a Disney vacation. The hotel has a complimentary breakfast buffet, a mini-fridge and microwave in each room and a basic pool with a small splash pad area for younger kids. Prices for this hotel can fluctuate wildly depending on demand , but it can be an excellent redemption when cash prices are well above $200 per night.

Disneys Yacht Club Resort
Disneys Yacht Club is my favorite resort location on the property. Its located near the Boardwalk Inn between Disneys Hollywood Studios and Epcots World Showcase. Guests at the Yacht Club can either choose to walk right to either park or can take a Friendship Boat. To visit Animal Kingdom, Disney Springs, or the Magic Kingdom, youll have to take a bus.
Because Epcots World Showcase offers so many events that appeal specifically to adults, like the International Wine and Food Festival, the Festival of the Arts, and the Flower and Garden festival, this location can be especially attractive because of the close proximity and short walk. Getting to and from the World Showcase is so easy, and can be especially great after a long day.
Both the Yacht Club and the Beach Club share one of the best amenities at a Disney Resort the large water feature area known as Stormalong Bay. Kids love Stormalong Bay, but as an adult, I also enjoy cooling off in the sandy-bottom pool. Its one of the most beautiful pools at Walt Disney World.
You may wonder why weve specifically listed the Yacht Club if both resorts offering similar amenities. While they are both wonderful resorts, I find the Beach Club to be more fun and vibrant while the Yacht Club is more elegant and laid-back.
The Yacht Club also offers a few retail shops, as well as a business center, and a spa and fitness center. There are also tennis courts available to guests.

Monorail Resorts At Disney World
There are three monorail resorts at Disney WorldContemporary, Polynesian, and Grand Floridian. These are commonly called monorail resorts because the monorail stops at them, connecting them to Magic Kingdom. As a result of this convenience , these are three of the top four most expensive Disney hotels
The resort monorail stops at Magic Kingdom, then Contemporary, Transportation and Ticket Center, Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and back to Magic Kingdom. A loop takes around 15 to 20 minutes.
Polynesian and Grand Floridian are connected by a walking path. You can also walk from Polynesian to Transportation and Ticket Center. There is a walking path that connected Contemporary to Magic Kingdom. A walking path connecting Grand Floridian to Magic Kingdom is under construction as of mid-2019.
Because theyre so well-connected, its incredibly east to access to lobbies, grounds, bars, and restaurants of the monorail resorts from each other. Basically, besides pools and fitness centerswhich are always accessible only to guests of a specific hotelstaying at any of these resorts gives you easy access to the amenities of the others.
So if the only reason you put Grand Floridian over Contemporary after doing your research is because of the restaurants, ask yourself whether $200 per night is worth the 15-minute monorail ride between the two resorts.
Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts
If you need extra room, or want additional just-like-home amenities, consider staying at a Disney Deluxe Villa Resort. Deluxe Villa Resorts have the same benefits offered at the deluxe resorts with larger accommodations. A villa, cabin or bungalow typically features a full kitchen, living and dining areas, separate private bedrooms and a washer and dryer set. There’s also a Deluxe Studio option, which includes a kitchenette and a queen-size sleeper sofa.
Many of the deluxe resorts have villa options that share the same location, but there are a few standalone Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts:
For the art aficionado Disney’s Riviera Resort
Disney World’s newest hotel, Disney’s Riviera Resort, celebrates the art and style of the European Riviera. With its grand architecture, classical music and colorful artwork, it feels like you’ve been transported to the Mediterranean seaside. The resort boasts over 40 original works of art from Disney and Pixar artists! Even the rooftop restaurant, Topolino’s Terrace, is inspired by the cliffside restaurants found along the European coast.
The resort offers plenty of recreational activities, including two pools, a kiddie pool, bocce ball court, chess lawn and fitness center. Lush landscaping and bubbling fountains make for a tranquil walk around the grounds. It also has a Disney Skyliner station for easy access to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disneys Boardwalk Inn & Villas
A centrally-located hotel with easy access to theme parks and restaurants
Disneys Boardwalk Inn has arguably the best location at the Walt Disney World Resort. Within walking distance, you can access boat and Skyliner transportation, two Disney parks, and several other hotels. Guest rooms face the water or beautifully manicured gardens.
Along the boardwalk, you can find several restaurant and entertainment options. I recommend checking out the high-end restaurants at the Walt Disney World Swan and the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort, which are just a short walk away. Additionally, adults can enjoy Jellyrolls dueling piano bar and the Atlantic Dance Hall on weekends.
Price Level: $$$$ Transportation Options: Bus Skyliner to Disneys Hollywood Studios and several resorts boat to Hollywood Studios and Epcot walk to Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Fantasia Miniature Golf, and the Walt Disney World Dolphin and Swan resorts Quick Service Restaurants: Boardwalk Bakery, Pizza Window, Leaping Horse Libations, Table Service Restaurants: Flying Fish, Trattoria al Forno, Big River Grille Bars and Lounges: AbracadaBar, Boardwalk Joes Marvelous Margaritas, Belle Vue Lounge Special Activities: Surrey bike rentals, fishing excursions, Jellyrolls piano bar, Atlantic Dance Hall Pools: 1 feature pool, 2 leisure pools Specialty Rooms: club level, DVC villas Recommended For: Everyone
Pros & Cons The Best Disney Moderate Resorts
Moderate hotels at Disney World are a happy medium between deluxe and value resorts. This is a great option for those who plan to spend the majority of their time at the parks but may want to have a pool day before they leave, or just want more dining and shopping options close by. They all offer fun activities and complimentary transportation to the parks as well.

Disneys Port Orleans Resort Riverside And French Quarter
Rates start at: $227.00Transportation Options: Boat, Bus
- Pros:Just a boat ride away from Disney Springs! This is a great option for groups who plan on enjoying the shopping, dining and nightlife that Disney Springs has to offer. The theme throughout both sections are beautiful, giving a southern charm feel throughout the grounds. Plus, theres plenty of pathways for quiet strolls accompanied by beautiful landscapes and scenery. We find this to be one of the best Disney World deluxe resorts for adults.
- Cons:With such vast grounds, getting around the resort itself can be time-consuming. Even when going to or coming home from the parks, there are multiple bus stops throughout the property which essentially eats away at your time.

Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance
Points program: Marriott Category 7 50,00070,000 points
The Courtyard Anaheim Theme Park Entrance is one of the nicest off-property hotels for families within easy walking distance of Disneyland. The property opened in 2016 and just had a renovation during the 2020-2021 Disneyland closure. Its approximately a 10-minute walk to Disneyland. It has a full water park on-site, making the pool area rival even the best on-property hotel pool .
Rooms are a major upgrade from what you might expect from a Courtyard. Every room in the hotel sleeps at least six. Standard rooms feature two queen beds and a bunk bed with two twin beds along with an extra-large bathroom with both a shower and a tub/shower combination. This unique layout makes the property a value for larger families that might otherwise need two hotel rooms. This is a lot of Marriott points, but it is one of our top 10 best ways to use the annual up to 50k certificate at hotels participating in the Marriott Bonvoy program that comes with the when nights price at the off-peak 50,000 points rate.
