Are Stroller Wagons Allowed At Disney World

Stroller Rentals At Disney World

Disneys bans large strollers, wagons

So you have decided to rent a stroller instead of bringing your own. Ok, but now what?

The most obvious choice is renting a stroller from Walt Disney World itself. For some, this option is the most convenient and most practical.

Stroller rental locations are located right next to the front gates of each theme park which means that you can simply rent a stroller as soon as you enter the park. Easy peasy.

Disney World offers both single and double stroller options. Stroller rentals can be made on a per-day basis, or you can opt for a Length of Stay Rental. A Length of Stay Rental will cut down on the per-day cost, but it still ends up being a little more expensive than some of the other options .

Here is a breakdown of the costs and recommendations for Disneys stroller rental program, as detailed on Disneys website here:

Single Stroller
  • Multi-Day : $13

Disneys Single Strollers are recommended for children under 50 lbs.

A credit card deposit of $100 USD is required for those who rent strollers at Disney Springs.

Double Stroller
  • Multi-Day : $27

Disneys Double Strollers are recommended for children under 100 lbs.

Length of Stay Rental

The Length of Stay Rental allows you to save money by pre-paying the number of days that youll need a stroller. This option is less expensive than paying on a per-day basis.

When you arrive at the theme park, just show your Length of Stay Rental receipt at any of the rental locations and you will receive your stroller for the day.

What You Can Bring Into Walt Disney World Parks

All guests are required to go through a security checkpoint before entering Disneys theme parks and water parks. Bags, clothing, and other personal items are subject to screening. With this in mind, its crucial that you bring only items that are allowed inside parks so you wont be turned away.

Remember, just because you can bring something to the park doesnt mean that you should. The more stuff you take, the more youll have to carry around all day long . Lessen the burden and bring only what you really need.

With that said, here are the items that Disney allows you to bring into the parks.

Things You Actually Cant Bring Into The Disney Parks

The park rules at Walt Disney World address security risks, safety concerns, and the enjoyment of visitors. For this reason, Disney prohibits guests from bringing certain items into the theme parks. Obviously, they ban all weapons and illegal substances, but what about those things that dont seem to be a threat? You might think it silly to exclude some of the items on this list, but Disney doesnt randomly restrict them. Usually, one or more incidents involving these things warrant them being banned.

12 Loose Ice

Disney has banned loose ice and dry ice. Disney further clarified that ice inside water bottles and even resealable bags are ok. The new rule applies to ice that is loose within a container such as a cooler.

TIP: We recommend guests use re-useable ice packs instead. Complimentary cups of ice are available at Food & Beverage locations inside the parks if needed.

11 Larger Double Strollers including Wagons

Disney requires strollers to be no larger than 31 wide and 52 long or smaller. The good news many of the strollers on the market, including many double jogging strollers, fit within these size guidelines. Also, just a reminder that wagons are not permitted in our parks. Stroller wagons also no longer be permitted. These updates are designed to help guest flow and ease congestion, making the parks more enjoyable for everyone.

Getting A Stroller Tagged As A Wheelchair For A Non

In our Facebook group, Walt Disney World Made Easy for Everyone, there was a great question asked. A mom had a disabled child who would not be in a stroller, and another child who was not disabled who would be in a stroller. The question was whether or not they could get the stroller for the non-disabled child marked as a wheelchair. This would free the parents up to help and support the disabled child more effectively.

The best answer to this question came from Sue Mickelson, our seriously knowledgeable Facebook group admin:

Getting a stroller tagged as a wheelchair for a non-disabled child is on a case by case basis. As with the DAS , the person needs to be prepared to explain the issues that prevent waiting in the regular line without it

Some situations Sue has heard of included:

  • Double stroller when only one child has a disability.
  • Parent has a disability that prevents holding / carrying the non-disabled child in line.
  • The children outnumber the adults and the children are too young to walk in line .

If you’re planning a trip to Disneyland or Disneyworld this summer you better check the size of your stroller.

Disney just announced that large strollers and stroller wagons are now banned from the parks. This means strollers that are “greater than 31″ in width and 52″ in length” won’t be allowed into either the Florida or California Disney parks.

Plenty of strollers are small enough that they will still be allowed into Disney parks, but if you’ve got a big rig, you might want to swap if for an umbrella-style stroller before your visit, or just rent a Disney-approved stroller when you get to the park.

There has been lots of talk of the new stroller policy at Disney… but how does this truly affect the everyday gue

What Strollers Are Allowed At Disney World

If you are bringing your own, you should know that there are two main requirements for strollers at Disney World.

Firstly, they need to fit the size requirements, which is less than 31 inches wide and 52 inches long.

Secondly, they cannot be a stroller wagon.

These are popular at other theme parks, but you need to be able to put the kids in a real stroller that you can push, not a wagon that gets pulled along.

    Graco Ready2grow Double Stroller

This Graco Ready2Grow double stroller is the best of the best when it comes to double strollers. While it rides like a double stroller, it folds down like a single stroller so youll save tons of space.

The seats are adjustable, so you can fit two infant car seats, two stroller seats, one stroller seat and one bench seat, and the list of options goes on. Parents love that neither seat has to be removed to fold it up, because theres nothing worse than trying to take out a seat and fold up a stroller while everyone behind you just wants to get on the bus back to the hotel.

Theres also the option to turn around the back infant seat so it faces you to keep baby close.

The sunshade completely covers the first seat and partially covers the second seat, and the wheels are rugged without needing any air.

Even better, you get the extra bells and whistles with this double stroller, like a stain resistant fabric that wipes off incredibly easily.

Buying A New Stroller At Disney

Most visitors will either bring their own or rent strollers at Disney. But perhaps you hadnt thought about buying a new one at your destination? Some Disney parks and shops on-property have an umbrella-style stroller for purchase. I found the strollers pictured below at the entrance to Disneyland in California. Purchasing a stroller outright like this is often less expensive than renting.

If youre heading to a local store in the area , consider picking up an inexpensive stroller to use on your trip. Or have a stroller shipped directly to your Disney hotel . After your trip, you can choose to bring the stroller home with you or leave it behind for another family to use.

Add Personal Flair To Your Stroller For Easier Viewing

    New Disneyland Rules

There is ample designated stroller parking areas near almost every attraction in the Disney parks. There are even Stroller Parking areas. Cast members will rearrange the parked strollers as people leave and new ones get dropped off. This rearrangement can make it difficult for you to locate your stroller.

Ive never been worried about anyone taking my stroller. However, its a good idea to mark your stroller so that no one will mistake it as their own. This is especially important to do if you are renting a stroller from the park, since all of those strollers do look alike.

The rental companies will give you a nameplate with your family name written on it, but adding a ribbon or other personal flair will still make it easier to spot from a distance. Here are a few easy ideas for labeling your personal stroller and tips to make a stroller easier to find at Disney parks.

    • Use a colorful luggage tag with your name on it.
    • Weave colored ribbons on the handle bars.
    • Clip a travel bottle of hand sanitizer on the stroller for family members to use after going on the rides and before snacking.
    • After nightfall, loop glow-in-the-dark bracelets onto your stroller handle for easier tracking in the dark.

    Where To Find Stroller Rentals

Strollers are available to rent at various locations throughout the Disney parks and the Disney Springs area. Theres no stroller rental at Downtown Disney in California.

Refer to the specific Disney app to locate Disneyland and Disney World stroller rental locations. Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios each have their own stroller rental hubs. Epcot offers two separate rental locations.

Disneyland shares a single stroller rental with Disney California Adventure, located at the front gate. In addition there is another stroller rental spot inside the Pixar Pals parking structure.

Stroller Wagons And Smoking No Longer Allowed In The Parks

Today Disney makes major updates to rules. They are now implementing some changes, including the removal of smoking areas within parks and the adjustment of park policies related to stroller size, wagons and loose ice.

Here are a few tips to help ensure a smooth arrival during your next visit.

Beginning May 1, we are adjusting our guidelines on stroller sizes, which will require them to be no larger than 31 wide and 52 long or smaller. The good news many of the strollers on the market, including many double jogging strollers, fit within these size guidelines. Also, just a reminder that wagons are not permitted in our parks. Beginning May 1, stroller wagons will also no longer be permitted. These updates are designed to help guest flow and ease congestion, making the parks more enjoyable for everyone.

TIP: The smaller your stroller, the easier it is to navigate and maneuver the parks. At Walt Disney World Resort, you can rent a single or double stroller once they arrive, and they can be rented each day. Or, they can choose a Length of Stay Rental, which will save them time and money. While Walt Disney World already offers a double stroller rental, Disneyland Resort will soon offer one too.

Also beginning May 1, smoking areas will no longer be present inside Walt Disney Worldor Disneyland theme parks, water parks, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex or Downtown Disney in California.

Disney Bans Stroller Wagons Outraging Parents Of Kids With Disabilities And Medical Needs

Disney may be advertised as the happiest place on Earth, but some parents of kids with disabilities dont think so after the companys latest announcement: Effective May 1, stroller wagons will no longer be allowed in Disney parks. The decision may affect families of kids with disabilities and medical needs who rely on stroller wagons as adaptive equipment. In response, parents have started a petition to ask Disney to reverse its stroller wagon ban and expressed their outrage online.

Disney parkscurrent specifications for strollers and wagons state that strollers larger than 36 x 52 and wagons are not permitted. Stroller wagons, a hybrid stroller/wagon with more space that can accommodate medical equipment and a closable canopy to reduce sensory overload, werent specifically prohibited under those guidelines. But the new restrictions state strollers larger than 31 inches in width and 52 inches in length will be prohibited and stroller wagons will also no longer be permitted.

If youre planning to bring your own stroller, be sure to check Disneys guidelines as theyve recently changed. Strollers must be no larger than 31 wide and 52 long, and stroller wagons are no longer allowed at Walt Disney World.

Strollers are not required to collapse for use within the parks but using a collapsible stroller is recommended, particularly if you plan to use Walt Disney World transportation. Strollers must be in a folded position on Walt Disney World resort buses which is how most guests travel between their hotels and the parks as well as aboard parking lot trams.

Strollers may remain open on the Walt Disney World Skyliner gondola system as well as the Walt Disney World monorail, which connects Magic Kingdom to EPCOT, the Ticket and Transportation Center, and nearby hotels.
